Re: 2nd half of baseball.
OH FUCKING YEAH.
4 of 5 so far. yanks machine be rolling. gotta love abreau. gotta love damon. MONSTER role position players. the captain comes through yet again.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
oh comon people, lets talk some baseball.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
You're already talking yankee baseball in multiple other threads you started...if you want to chat about teams not named yanks or red sox...i'll engage.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
alright sightless. i will acknowledge that those damn yankees just pulled off a five game sweep of the red sox. i am actually quite happy cuz that sweep has dropped the red sox down off my squad's asses in the wild card race, but i must admit that i am SO sick of how much hype surrounds the yanks-red sox rivalry.
both of those squads have such an unfair advantage in MLB. they can spend as much as they choose and still neither team can put together pitching staffs that are worth a shit. the yanks and sox just power through other teams due to their ridiculous payrolls. in turn all those dumbasses on ESPN are completely fixated on this god damn series between two teams that with all due respect do not have great chances of winning it all this year. no pundits give any attention to say the Tigers-White Sox series for instance which is going on this week. hell you won't find any of their games on tv anywhere. another great story which is getting completely ignored is the hottest team in baseball, the Oakland A's out in the AL west. i just get tired of all the focus on the same two damn east coast teams year after year after year.
sightless you have to be able acknowledge this overwhelming bias that pervades MLB. i have all the respect in the world for the BoSox and damn Yanks but i can't be the only die hard baseball fan in the world to see this.

someone is just pissed because the cards are falling off, and about to get swept by the other NYC team.
and yes, baseball is all about boston/NY. when they play that is. its the pinnacle of the sport.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
OK, im gonna ask this question.
does aaron rowan run into moving cars for fun on the off days>? please, someone tell me that they saw yesterdays collision. charlie hustle part 2 IMHO. this guy is nuts, or deaf.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
and yes, baseball is all about boston/NY. when they play that is. its the pinnacle of the sport.
only to the people on the east coast. i can promise you the majority of the people in the midwest don't give a fuck about ny/boston, including me. almost ruins the sport the overhype of those two teams in the media.
nice post weizy.

Re: 2nd half of baseball.
i hate living on the east coast for the simple fact that people can't shut up about "their yankees" or "their red sox". jenks is right, i never had to hear so much crap about either team when i lived in h-town.

jib will NOT appreciate being a red sock.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
go to more games ppl. both teams have smaller stadiums than atl or st lou or minnesota. we just show up. hence the earning of revenue. the yanks split the city with another team every year of thier existence, so if anything, they have a harder time earning it. blame yourselves or ur owners. ours give the money back to the teams.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
not much we can do to change our city's attitude about their sports teams, but i know st. louis's attendance to games is great. so is houston's. it isn't just about attendance. look at how many people outside of new york sport their gear? same with the red sox... you guys just have great marketing.

i like the no hype about the a's, just watch the coverage the get on basebal tonight, a's last night tied a franchies record for bigest come from behind win ( 0-8 )in the second and all they could talk about is how lilly punched his coach (which was fucking hilarious btw). im pretty sure the a's are gonna make it to the playoffs this year cosidering the awesome schedual we have for September.
and while im talking about baseball tonight, has anyone else noticed how slllloooowwly jeff brently blinks,? you cant stop being distracted by it, he looks like a fucking retard.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
....whoops! jason fucking isringhausen i love you (and senor beltran). reds are rolling and cards are reeling... jesus, i just feel bad for pujols. the man is a mountain (drove in all 7 runs).
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
Izzy is the worst closer in baseball to have that many saves.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
when beltran hit that homer i was like ''eat it jim and jenks'' in my head. lmao, the two of you made me a closet homosexual. after my yanks, they are number 1.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
anyone see Thome go down last night?
the gods are smiling on the Twins

JENKS, im gonna knock you in the head. closet mets fan, who btw, are about to.........
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
i have just learned that if the twins take the wild card it will be twins vs. yanks in the playoffs!!! i was in the stands when Reuben Sierra hit that bomb that knocked my boys out a couple of years ago. never again sight! never again!!!
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
Twins v Yanks would be an awesome enough of a series for me to watch the AL.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
hey sightless, i saw ARod go in the tank over the weekend. he was 1 for 15 with 10 K's and one single. OUCH!
is the New york pressure just getting to him or what??
in my Twins world right now our pitching staff is not looking good at all. Santana is all we have to rely on right now. Radke is skipping his next start. Silva is TERRIBLE. this month of September is going to be insane.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
is the New york pressure just getting to him or what??
exactly. our media coverage is insane. we have 5 papers based out of NYC alone, add in Newsday for long island and the upper NYS and Conn, and jersey papers..... well, the boy grips the batter tighter and tighter. he still has great numbers though. someone needs to give him a wedgie on national TV to defer spme pf the comments. mind you , this is the reigning MVP, so ill give him another year or so.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
man that is some serious pressure. i watch the yanks whenever they happen to be on espn or fox and i can't get over how quickly the boos come out in Yankee Stadium. we are talking about a guy who to me is still one of the best players in all of baseball. then this crap in the papers about how he had his shirt off in central park!?! wtf is that? let the man be. maybe he is a target because no one can forget his gargantuan contract.
either way i feel like he will turn it around. i feel bad for him though. i can't imagine what is being written about him after his 10 K series.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
boston papers are the worst though.
NY papers will say you suck , the boston papers will call your wife a whore.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
the boston papers will call your wife a whore.
 that is truly shameless
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
Yankee's wives are whores tho aren't they? :p
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
no, that goes to the mets. you know, the team that just beat the piss outta you. half their players are married to former playmates, models or just staight up hotties.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
interesting fact:
the Marlins have the second best record in baseball since the break.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
^^^-- word. sadly though, loria wants to tank the team and will fire girardi. shame. he should be the NL manager of the year.
---second note. carl fucking pavano. after 14 months of not pitching for us, it comes out yesterday night that he got into an accident 2 weeks ago and never told us. the accident was involving cars, and broke 2 of his ribs, which, he never told us. get rid of this guy now.

yeah, but for this year, only being 2.5 games back in the weak NL wildcard race, they're playing better than anyone trying to get in at the moment. Phillies are playing good too tho. Ryan Howard is nuts.

ha thats awesome, well a's are doing there part for you, papi when back to boston because of a irregular heart beat apparently oakland is too hyphy for him, and the a's win 7-0, lifes good for a's fans
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
his heartbeat went off the friday night when we took 2. he was in the hospital that night too. not that i ever hope for bad things to happen to anyone outside of bin laden, but im happy it was us that not only put the dagger in thier hearts, but actually broke his.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
last nights game was awesome, fulke gave up 3 bombs to his former team, and i was pissing off so many red sox fans, screaming YOOOOOKKKKK at everything he did in right feild
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
Schilling v Zito today at 12 pst, god i wish i could get off work
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
first inning will dictate that game. if they stay patient and get to schilling early, they should take it. the A's lineup is the type that will hurt schilling through basic baseball patience.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
fuck his splitter in on, its gonna be a dual
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
we just won.
wong pitched a 2 hitter through 8. proctor and MO wrapped it up. 1 down, 2 to go. cya at 7.
