Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

^ I posted the equally fucked up Chinese reactions ... morons in every continent.

Let's face it, as a race the majority seem to be fucktards. If aliens came along now, they'd probably wipe us out and think they're doing the universe a service.

lets hope the media is just hyping the nuclear problem because thats what they like to do, here is an interesting write up about how this is not going to be chernobyl, lets hope this is more accurate than the rest of the headlines.

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

had a stupid question and can't find the answer: if the thing doesn't meltdown and they manage to stabilize the situation, how are they going to deal with the damaged reactors?

#1475871Post 64 of 204

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

they will need to be scraped. i.e. radioactive waste

I read the reactors have 3 built in containment facility and if the 3rd is employed, they're goners. As it is I THINK cooling them with sea water already damages them irreparably.

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

the minute they used sea water the reactors now have to be scraped. I don't believe any of this Fukushima 50 shit. This is just propaganda hype trying to make it sound like heroes are doing everything they can to fix it. I'm pretty sure nobody is there because if they were they would be dead in a couple weeks from the high levels of radiation.

Rumor is this will be worse than Chernobyl. But better in the sense that most of the radiation will go out to sea. Chernobyl will be considered a bigger disaster because it was on a giant land mass where this plant was built in the north east Japan and the prevailing winds will send it to sea.

But as far as radiation escaping this will be considered worse.

And this is really questioning your belief to what the Japanese could be doing, you really believe that they didn't pump salt water into the reactors in an attempt to cool them off and avoid a Nuclear meltdown and taking into consideration the lives they could save VS. saying "fuck this, its going to get too expensive to setup a new reactor, let the radiation leak and a mass of the local population die"....?

How far is Chernobyl from Kiev? how is Fukushima from Tokyo? Which is the worse leak? is there a leak in this case?

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

I never said I didn't believe they were dumping sea water in. I said I don't believe anyone is there anymore. The radiation would kill them in days to weeks. With explosions and fires you mid as well be sitting inside a reactor. Yes I know it is hard for your little brain Reso but when the radiation gets that bad they just have to abandon the plant and hope the sea water strategy will work to prevent a catastrophe in Tokyo.

They don't have a choice Kamal. The space there is uninhabitable. It is sad to think but as I have been saying for days tthe radiation is outo f control and Japan is Fucked. There is nothing anyone can do about that now.

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

does it really matter which nuclear disaster is/was worse? any nuclear disaster is beyond awful. my prayers are with those people. i haven't heard from my high school buddies that live in the area either. :(

#1476252Post 75 of 204

Re: 8.9 quake hits Japan

no.. exactly. Good point Garrick.

They can run the pumps with the sea water without anyone being there. They just turn the switch on

It is not bad enough to be totally uninhabitable yet.

I highly suggest you read some of the posts from the MIT Nuclear Lab here:

http://mitnse.com/

They have been constantly updating this the last few days with what they interpret to be going on, and explain it in plain language for us non PhDs out there on what is happening.

Since you are speculating from Canada it would be best for everyone for you not to talk then.

Why I have been right for days now on this... I always get ridiculed and then I get proven right.. and then when I am found to be right I am an idiot again...

Weird reactions I get.
