Re: What if McCain actually wins??

Should McPalin win, the "Christian Taliban" will get an even stronger death grip on every part of society, making this country less of a place I want to be fighting for in the military. Social conservatism = what you have in the middle east. It's a cancer.

Servicemen for Obama.

Re: What if McCain actually wins??

i think you said something racist because to me, you implied racism. if you didn't mean to, then maybe you should have thought about it first.

funny you say boy toy obama... i am voting for him yes because i do not want mccain palin, but that doesn't mean i am all for obama and in some cases i'm not. i think mccain is ok, but palin is the problem for me and putting her to near the white house i think would be a horrible idea.

i also think you are confused about your taxes. my taxes won't go up. mine will go down. i don't make more than 200,000 a year. i own a house and my taxes on that would be fine also. but thats not the most important thing to me. the most important thing to me is the protection of females and thier bodies, and that is something that mccain/ palin and i completely disagree on. this is one of my my principles in life. i want protection for my people. my female people included.

i am pro choice. and pro a lot of other things most americans won't be. like pro-prostitution and pro-porn. i'm also pro-birth control and pro-gay rights. pro-environment and pro-people.
Well, I live in St. Louis, one of the cities mentioned in this post. Moreover, I live in a integrated neighborhood in the heart of the City, and I don't look across a body of water to see black people, I look across the street -- and yet, it hadn't even occurred to me that I would need to be fearful in the event Obama lost.

edit: ...and for what it's worth, I'm not calling you a racist -- I reserve that sort of label for shosh -- just pointing out that your reasoning on this point is based upon an outdated and antiquated mindset...
Well I live in a diverse city of windsor where we have Arabs, Orientals, Whites, and blacks. I don't have to look across the border to see them. Thanks for that remark though. You see living in Canada gives me a much better perspective on this since we are much more diverse then your country (this wasn't a question it is a fact). As far as outdated we will see what will happen in the future. Also getting back to what I was discussing with speciale I think was is it a possibility??? Do you feel it is a possibility??? Anybody answer this?

Also Chloe you said it yourself that politicians will say anything to get elected.

same here. we're actually minorities in stlouis, white people, and the thought of "what is going to happen if obama loses" never crossed my mind. I think living in a city like this makes people from all races much more tolerant of each other. i dig it.

Most people are voting like this. I am doing the same but the other way around. I am voting for McCain because I dont want obama. I hope one day in my lifetime, there will be a candidate I can I vote for because I actually believe in him/her.

true that J. America -- the melting pot of the world, or even a salad (?)

either way Canada just leeches off of it's system of cultural wealth etc. imo.
I haven't heard Obama say anything about undoing Bush's policies such as the Patriot Act 1 and 2. So I don't really see the difference between Obama and Bush.
As if he could utter even a suggestion that he was in favor of repealing these during this election, without the fear of what the right wing would turn that into. I mean jeez, it's called the PATRIOT Act. By default, you obviously cannot be a true patriot if you don't support it! McCain would have that crazy jingoist sentiment that Bush worked so well whipped up in one media cycle.

One of my greatest hopes is that when Obama speaks of "undoing the mistakes of the last eight years", he secretly specifically means things like the Patriot Act, and all the other baby steps we've taken towards becoming a modern police state. I'm also looking forward to seeing him work with senators like Russ Feingold and Al Franken (cross my fingers), who are both openly critical of the Patriot Act.

goes to show what you know. So you even know what the Patriot Act is and what "PATRIOT" stands for. Here you go.

Is was carefully crafted so it spells out Patriot so yuppies like yourself get caught up in the wording.

Re: What if McCain actually wins??

if mccain wins nothing will change. we've got wars on deck, in the hole, and the old soldier's going to keep waging. the rich will keep getting policy passed to "create more wealth" as mcpalin puts it. and health care will still boil down to 'go get your own.' the vice will expand power of their office further to help cronies.

just like now. you've only got to worry if you don't like where the us is now.

Tolerance is the problem. Sure you can "tolerate" something but once shit starts to hit the fan, you go back to your roots and only care for people that are like you,

Acceptance is where we need to be and in this day and age, that surely is not going on. who the hell knows when that will happen. its been 40 years since MLKJr. and it still hasnt happened. =\

me and you are on the same page, i agree with you 100%.

McCain is not the problem for me, its Palin. She, to me, is equal to Hitler. She is Hitler in drag in my opinion. Her even being considered for vice-president is a complete atrocity.

Re: What if McCain actually wins??

I read that article runningman. So based on that article, you've come to that conclusion, that you get diversity and we don't? Sorry dude, not buying it. I have numerous living examples of diversity right here in the states, hey I know one, ever hear of New York City? That article is however very commendable, and awesome, but if you're using that to claim Canada is the beacon of diversified living, and because of that, you have this worldly grasp on diversity that we don't have down here, then i have to lol a little bit. The mere size of our population trumps it. Not dogging Canada or that article tho, im just sayin. You don't know Toasty, or me, or any of us down here really, so pulling that article out of your pocket like a trump card is just silly.

#1110032Post 68 of 102

Re: What if McCain actually wins??

hey man no biggie.. like I said I love it when we get way off topic because people love to nit pic what was an example and turn it into a fighting argument about how they aren't a racist. So far in this thread people probably think I am pro McCain (which i'm not) and a racist (which i'm not). The very idea that if you bring up race you are a racist is the stupidest thing i have ever heard.

Do you guys know that Detroit is still to this day trying to put the pieces back together after that riot?? That is why Detroit is still so fucked up because nobody wants to bring business there in case the joint gets burned down again.

I think this is kinda a hair-splitting semantic thing. Tolerance, acceptance, pot-A-to, pot-aa-to. Race relations are still not where they should be, but it isn't the difference between these two words, it's the difference between viewing one another as part of a whole or as separate cultures that have been foisted upon one another. Do I look at my neighbor as "the black guy that lives next door" or "Charles?" It makes a difference, and that's the goal, regardless of whether you call it tolerance, acceptance, whatever.

i honestly am praying for some serious shit. assinations, bombings, etc. maybe someone will wake up. soddom/gommorra type shit.

if you voted in mccain and palin, you could say goodbye to any shot at gay rights or abortion rights. another justice would be planted, and somehow, they would just deny GLBT existence like iran denies gay ppl existing.
