Maybe you should try to not load your questions, then you might get a better response. Using terms like 'enlightening' and phrases like 'can you clear one thing up' tends to add an element of sarcasm also.

Honestly, most of my news is from word of mouth from people I know are smarter than I am... perhaps you, I dunno. I also get my news from Charlie Rose interviews, VICE, and National Public Radio... maybe the occasional Huff Post or NY Times, and that's really it.
Here's how I asked my friend who is Muslim the same question:

He's actually an engineer buddy, but nice try. Most of the people I know type how they speak, not caring about how it's punctuated. I know many people who are very successful who email their close friends this way. We call it being friendly and IN-formal vs. writing to and speaking to each other in "the queens."
Anyway, he called me tonight and we spoke about Islam for 30 minutes. I learned a lot actually and really respect the religion even more than before.

I watched the uncensored version. Like the other videos you see John put the knife to his neck and start cutting, but no blood. Then the video cuts to the decapitated body. Has anyone actually seen one of these videos where the actual act is filmed?
If you want to see a proper beheading video, google Jack Hensley. But I wouldn't recommend it.

And prior to the three videos most people in the US and UK were against going into Syria. Three weeks after the first video public opinion has changed.

No one is going into Syria. We might do some bombing from afar but that is it. Plus the majority don't even want to do that, but since we fucked up the Middle East we probably feel a bit obligated to do something about it right now.
