Something else I noticed, but will have to go back and check. He cuts his neck holding the knife with his left hand, indicating he is left handed. However his gun holster is on his left shoulder, indicating he is right handed. Unless he changes to his right hand, I will check later.

He could have just staged the whole 'beheading' and shot him through the temple after the camera went off. Even cowards act cowardly in their attempts to radicalise.
