Rising gas prices, diminishing dollar value resulting in inflation. The Bush-blaming routine will run out of steam.

That may be true, but Romney's mechanicalistic style is similar to that of Al Gore's. He's going to seem to calculated and unnatural next to Obama.

Another factor is Michelle Obama, a lot of women really like Michelle, that's going to help Obama as well. I predict Obama will receive twice as many votes as Romney. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: The Obama Impeachment

The big difference between Obama and any of the Republican candidates, is that he is trying to change the country where they are trying to make it work the way it has been since the beginning. Sure there are ups and downs for any and all governments, but his "hope and change" style is too radical for me.

#1601028Post 47 of 176

Re: The Obama Impeachment

Well hope is something all presidents try to inspire into voters. And change is inevitable. Obama didn't come up with either slogan, 25 year old political strategists did. With the speed at which all things are changing nowadays, whoever is president is going to bear the brunt of perceived responsibility. But Obama isn't perfect by anyones standards. There are plenty of people who think he hasn't done anywhere near enough for the middle class and lower class. Overhauling healthcare has to happen, it's a broken system. That's going to continue to occur as the boomers get older, period.

#1601035Post 48 of 176

Re: The Obama Impeachment

Overhauling it by breaking it further and commandeering an unconstitutional piece of legislation into the law (that has to be passed before it can be read and which has doubled in projected costs already) is not how to fix it, period. I know some have a problem with words like unsustainable, but here it is:

http://m.cbsnews.com/fullstory.rbml?catid=57400369&feed_id=3&videofeed=39 (debt climbs to $20 trillion under your hero's "leadership")

Hope and change is nothing but a hollow campaign slogan that isn't even being used by the campaign today (which alone should tell you something), and before someone latches onto the idea of "change", one needs to ask what kind of change before blindly voting for a radical again.

And sorry, but fuel prices have never escalated this quickly at such an early time of the year. Supply constraints might be part of the problem, but the unspoken part is the diminishing value of the dollar. You don't help the middle or lower class by actively taking on spending policies that reduce its value.

Re: The Obama Impeachment

Hey, this is the kind of "change" that your hero Piven envisions where she lumps the commies and the anarchists with your Democrat buddies and attempts to define the Occupy movement:

http://conservativebyte.com/2012/03/democrats-socialists-and-communistswe-are-all-together-piven-draws-chilling-connections/

Her thoughts are summed up thusly:
•The Occupy Movement is made up of “All parts of the Left.” •That includes proudly: “Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Anarchists.” •Must all work together because of the “Huge task of transforming America and the world.” •“We are all together”
More utopian BS where those with money are supposed to be overcome with guilt at their success and give it all up for the cause. Her premise puts the misfits (versus the ones who are airing legitimate grievances who I am sure Pivens counts as more useful idiots) on a crash-course with history. Buckle up.

Re: The Obama Impeachment
I really don't understand why libs have such a problem with basic math. O'Commie's projected deficit at the end of a 2nd term is at $20 trillion. That's assuming the healthcare act is kept afloat and doesn't suddenly double in costs again (as it did just last month according to the CBO).
CBO cuts cost estimate for Obama healthcare law http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/14/usa-budget-deficit-idUSL2E8EDJ0I20120314 http://www.cbo.gov/publication/43058 http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/mar/21/ted-cruz/ted-cruz-says-health-reforms-price-tag-has-doubled/

Just two policies dating from the Bush Administration — tax cuts and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — accounted for over $500 billion of the deficit in 2009 and will account for $7 trillion in deficits in 2009 through 2019, including the associated debt-service costs. [7] By 2019, we estimate that these two policies will account for almost half — nearly $10 trillion — of the $20 trillion in debt that will be owed under current policies.[8] (The Medicare prescription drug benefit enacted in 2003 also will substantially increase deficits and debt, but we are unable to quantify these impacts due to data limitations.) These impacts easily dwarf the stimulus and financial rescues, which will account for less than $2 trillion (less than 10 percent) of the debt at that time. Furthermore, unlike those temporary costs, these inherited policies (especially the tax cuts and the drug benefit) do not fade away as the economy recovers.

Re: The Obama Impeachment

Reuters plays loose with the facts. In the comment at the bottom of that misleading article is:
Facts : The CBO also added another year to its overall cost estimate for the insurance provisions, extending it out to 2022, for an 11-year net cost of $1.252 billion.

Before the revenue and tax effects, the gross cost for that period hits a new high: $1.762 trillion.
Who to believe, who to believe...definitely not the media that is in the tank for this administration.

Re: The Obama Impeachment

Iraq War was also a bipartisan (whether anyone agrees with the justification for the war) effort given that both hideous parties in Congress voted to approve it, so lumping it in with the insurance company slavery bill isn't really telling the whole story.

#1601682Post 59 of 176

Re: The Obama Impeachment

it's not an excuse at all. but what's done is done and that money that was spent on iraq will forever be gone and will be costing us for many years to come. nothing can be done about that
Reuters plays loose with the facts. In the comment at the bottom of that misleading article is:

the cost did not double though per your statement. check the politifact link http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/mar/21/ted-cruz/ted-cruz-says-health-reforms-price-tag-has-doubled/. from the cbo http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/cbofiles/attachments/03-13-Coverage Estimates.pdf

CBO and JCT now estimate that the insurance coverage provisions of the ACA will have a net cost of just under $1.1 trillion over the 2012–2021 period—about $50 billion less than the agencies’ March 2011 estimate for that 10-year period (see Table 1, following the text).........

Those amounts do not encompass all of the budgetary impacts of the ACA because that legislation has many other provisions, including some that will cause significant reductions in Medicare spending and others that will generate added tax revenues, relative to what would have occurred under prior law. CBO and JCT have previously estimated that the ACA will, on net, reduce budget deficits over the 2012–2021 period; that estimate of the overall budgetary impact of the ACA has not been updated.4 The current estimate of the gross costs of the coverage provisions ($1,496 billion through 2021) is about $50 billion higher than last year’s projection; however, the other budgetary effects of those provisions, which partially offset those gross costs, also have increased in CBO and JCT’s estimates (to $413 billion), leading to the small decrease in the net 10-year tally. Over the 10-year period from 2012 through 2021, enactment of the coverage provisions of the ACA was projected last March to increase federal deficits by $1,131 billion, whereas the March 2012 estimate indicates that those provisions will increase deficits by $1,083 billion. The net cost was boosted by an additional $168 billion in estimated costs for Medicaid and CHIP and $8 billion less in estimated revenues from the excise tax on high-premium health insurance plans. But those increases were more than offset by a reduction of $97 billion in the projected costs for the tax credits and other subsidies for health insurance provided through the exchanges and related spending, a reduction of $20 billion in the projected costs for tax credits for small employers, and a reduction of $107 billion in deficits from the projected revenue effects of changes in taxable compensation and penalty payments and from other small changes in estimated spending. This report also presents estimates through fiscal year 2022, because the baseline projection period now extends through that additional year. The ACA’s provisions related to insurance coverage are now projected to have a net cost of $1,252 billion over the 2012–2022 period (see Table 2, following the text); that amount represents a gross cost to the federal government of $1,762 billion, offset in part by $510 billion in receipts and other budgetary effects (primarily revenues from penalties and other sources).

I concur that doubled was an exaggeration. The price expectations did climb, however.

Agreed.

Ron Paul is the only one who may be able to introduce some major changes. Some in his camp actually believe that Ron Paul has a real chance, despite all the reports suggesting otherwise in the msn. I disagree with them.

And the rest in the Republican Race are a complete and utter joke. The whole thing was doomed from the beginning, I mean you had a casino owner out there, having the balls to announce and then run for President.

Who on earth makes this shit up?

It's pure Hollywood and the stranglehold she has the minds of millions is truly amazing.

Obama will get his second term and we'll all just have to put up with his shit for another 4 years.
