wow. very glad i waited to hear some reviews before purchasing. i def wont be buying this one as i tend to be rather picky with sets. highly doubt it would please me if its not pleasing most on ms.
You shouldn't make decisions based just on what others say.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
lmao, i dont. just on artists who i am not familiar with. by the looks of it this cd was a bit overrated.

Yet you choose to go with the couple that aren't ! Don't you want to be happy?? You have to make up your own mind. Have you heard much of Henry.?? If you haven't, find some and listen. Do you like him normally?? If you don't you probably won't like this. Have people who you know with similar tastes written reviews?? Make your own judgements from these . Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Why the fuck has most of my writing gone black . Responding and editing now a nightmare. Fixed but I shouldn't have to experiment to fix.
I also hit use auto saved and it actually came up with a post I decided NOT to post last night  That would have been fun !! Please be careful people :)
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Both discs are great. I really didn't understand the bit about cd 2 being "frustrating". I felt I "got" disc 2 right out of the bag. If you like Cattaneo and Sasha, I'm hard-pressed to see someone not liking Henrys endeavor. To each their own, but I love this addition. In the past 2 months Balance has cemented themselves as the top EM compilation series imo.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
:RockOn:It's obviously pretty complex, I'm almost scared to listen

Let me know what a YOU think, didi. I'd be interested. Don't be scurred.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Pst, Nothing to be scared of here  It finally arrived, I am 5 tracks in and I AM LOOOVING IT!!!!!!!!!! If you have listened to a fair amount of Henry , you realise that he has used all of his influences to make this album, from the early electronic days onwards. More when I have listened to it all !!
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Yeah, you're definatley in for a treat then. He kills it on the end of disc 1, wait til you hear disc 2! I really don't understand what the detractors don't like. Even if you are unfamiliar with his sound, good music is good music. He is scary good, no?

Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
It's like this guy held out his arms and asked all the sounds to come to him and he would make music, and he made incredible music. :Respect:
It is not a dance compilation even though it does have some amazing dance music on it. I can understand why CD2 could be considered confusing on first listen, it is not what most would expect to hear . You have to open your mind and just let it happen. There are no rules or boundaries. For once I glad I have been around long enough to hear and know a lot of the music represented here, and still around to appreciate what has been done with it :D A totally contemporary album that is proud to have it's roots in so much of our past music , including the electronic.
This is a really important album. I love it and feel privileged to be able to hear it. In case you can't tell I am in total awe  Thank you Henry :Respect:
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Hell yeah Didi. I find the brillance of both discs comparable to Hernan and Sasha.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Definitely !! Although I probably wouldn't compare, they are are incredibly different. :) I'm not comparing with Guy J's either for the same reason :D Love them all for themselves, well maybe not Sasha
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Listening to CD 1 ... like the second track on it, midway through now, programming feels a bit random.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Lady in the Mirror
CD1 is good.. but.. I am not as impressed as I was when I got trough CD2 of Nick's last Balance ..i know they are different, I am just saying
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
^haha, i like this one a ton more than nick's.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
^ different ears ; ) I liked it.. i will give it another go in a couple of hours

Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
The closing two tracks of the 1st CD.. very well done
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
funny you mention guy j, didi. him and henry might possibly be the next generations answer to EM.

^^^^ The baton is being passed as we speak  They had great mentors :D
^haha, i like this one a ton more than nick's.
I do too, which makes me a little sad because I love Nick :(
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Eterno Retorno (90's Acid Trance version) is wicked.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
damn it sounds beatiful so interesting
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
a little late for me, but I listened to cd1 today, in my way to work. Great music! I didn´t know he was into this :)

Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
Warren's Balance was him doing what he does best - a collection of great tracks, well programmed, and music that you remember and want to listen to again.
Saiz's is him mucking about on a laptop and putting out 2 cd's of his own tracks. Way too arty for me.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
^^^ I have heard so many Djs try to do what Henry does "mucking around with his laptop " and fail miserably !! Believe me I hate all this arty chinstroker shit, like "intelligent" music, "forwarding thinking music" stuff!! Music isn't intelligent and it doesn't think. . But I totally get this album in a really basic way.
I would love to agree with your opinion on Nick's Balance, there are some great tracks on it, but unfortunately I am not playing it . Probably still bleeding because he didn't use the original Buenos Aires :)

Exactly. I keep playing that CD2 over, and over again.. I don't know if I will be doing the same with Saiz's CD1
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
After hearing the album twice, I must say the CD 1 is my favorite, good tunes, some Spanish influence in the middle. some downtempo tracks very entertaining to listen. CD2 not understand it. many noises with bases almost impersiptibles, i not find a line that keep the cd in harmony. not saying it's bad, but do not quite convince me.
My favorite the CD 1
I'm going back to listen to see if my opinion changes.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
anyone buy this digitally on beatport? i am having trouble viewing whats included in the release...looks like u may bet both mixes plus some trax???
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
question answered, i just broke down and bought it off beatport. $17 dollars for 18 trax and 2 full length mixes.

I still haven't listened to Saiz... saving it for the weekend which is tough as the CD is just sitting there unopened!
But I agree with your opinion on 018 DIDI... As much as I want to like it, it's just not up to the standard I was expecting. It's kind of boring.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
^^^ I do like the 2nd disc, and I'm sure I will get back to it at some stage. Bit of a shame they came so close together, I might have taken more time to get to know Nick's album.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
^^ Fair enough. Definitely not for me.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
wow i loved the saiz. should never go by peeps reviews on here. Actually the Siaz album is grossly UNDERATED!!!

     sorry your reaction is funny.
I think this is a grower. I'm more partial to CD2 at this point. On the whole Balance 019 is sounding pretty fresh and musical. What throws me off a bit is the pacing I think, I don't know, something about the programming makes it feel drifty or random, but other people probably like the up and down.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
I have this but have not listened to it yet...not pumping enough for my gym sessions...will have a listen over the weekend.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
This is growing on me also. Still a few tracks on both cds that I don't work in the mix though.
Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'
tried this mix again today. Cant get into it all. That chipmunk track on the first cd must be the worst piece of music on a balance cd thus far
