Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

Now that the dance floor tenticles have reached the comercial masses we have peole voting like your unkle or your teacher. This has turned this poll into a joke for us seasoned underground house music lovers. Them folks wouldnt know a quality track if it jumped up and bought them a beer. We need to educate folks, make it your mission today to convert at least 1 person into blissfull housemusic and away from that earpiercing noise they insist on listening to. Im going to start with the guy who lives 4 doors up from me. Good lad but his shit stinks!

Good luck in your mission.

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

sometimes I just get the feeling when reading you that provided any dj has been downloadable he/she deserves immediataly to be ranked in dj mag's poll. mp3s limits your overall view on music mates.

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

I want to see #101 - 200. It's usually up on the site a few weeks after. Those are the djs that include the up + comers, the hot new talent, who didn't have a multitude of rabid fans but still managed to impress enough people to get their vote. I'm sure a lot of names we haven't seen yet will be on that list.

The 'Next 150' is released on 12 November:

All I can say is quality has gone underground again! Delighted to see Hernan at 6.

After this I wouldn't be surprised if Tiesto won a Grammy!

I should have voted a couple hundred more times.

No Lee Burridge. No Lee Coombs. Bah!

#288814Post 51 of 105

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

This list is a fucking nonsense :Blazed:

Congratulations for Hernan for his #6 spot - it was truly his year, when I heard him live recently, I was really impressed with the way he developed his style/dj skills

His case also proves one thing - if u want to score well on dj mag list, it really pays of to have your sets/radio shows shared on the net. There was a shitload of hernan's stuff on the net this year, so people could get a grip of his music.

And Zabiela is not in the top 10, wtf?

#288817Post 53 of 105

why is ATB in there so high? He is a fucking producer. when is the last time anyone has even seen or heard of him djing anywhere? maybe back in the day, but recently???

yeah, these polls accurately reflect people's knowledge of djs.

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

What a bunch of shit. Tiesto wins again. All I wan to know is how the hell digweed finished 8th. he is a hundred times better dj then the top three all combined together. I guess that is what he gets for spinned good music and not shitty trance to the mass.

It wuoldn't be so surprising that he finished 8th if there were only cheeeeeesssyy tiesto-likes above him - they simply play to a bigger audience and the number of people that hear a dj play is what counts here. The amazing thing is that Hernan is 6th! It's not that I don't like him or sth but he still has got many years of hard work to join diggers where he is... The problem with Digweed is that he is too consistent - he's ALWAYS very good. People say it was Hernan's year or Zabiela's year - but nobody says it was diggers' year because EACH year is his year. He never disappoints. That's why I think some people, even when they think John is the best, vote for some other djs above him - just because somebody surprised them positively. Diggers does not surprise anybody. Everybody knows he's quality.

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

with every passing year this poll seems more like a joke to me than anything. tiesto being #1 three years running is bullshit. the whole top 4 is a joke. i can understand results like this if it was 3-4 years ago but the unfortunate thing here is that tiesto and the other trance djs are more commercially known than digweed or some of the other dj's that we all root and vote for (randall jones, chris fortier, satoshi tomiie, etc.). its just a shame that the dj's we vote for don't get more recognition.

but then the important thing to remember is that this poll doesn't mean shit. it's just some magazine who wants to promote itself by having a poll like this every year. as long as you know who number #1 is in your heart its all that matters.

just my 2 cents. we'll get em next year john!!

I swear - most people really have no taste in music.

#288953Post 64 of 105

At least Chris Fortier made it in there - next year [ms] needs to hi-jack the pole and put forward a few thousand votes for Chloe.

#288958Post 65 of 105

Damn not freakin' Tiesto again..... :hanghim: :Tomato t:

i agree.... some people don't have good taste in music...

Amen. :RightOn:

#288967Post 66 of 105

so, we know this is a useless poll...

how about a top ten of the dj's that were left off of this poll that should have been there....

I can think of 8, in no particular order (unless one of these are there and i missed it)

Lee Coombs Luke Chable Luke Fair Steve Porter Brad Copeland Chloe Harris Matthew Dekay Desyn Masiello

#288970Post 67 of 105

Polluting oneself with shitty music has got to have a nasty side effect. I mean, in addition to what it does to these poor bastards socially. :Anal1:

#289002Post 68 of 105

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

I cant believe that Tiesto won again. People these days dont know what good music really is. Its all those new little kids that love that techno shit. I hate that.

What happened to good music???? :Choir:

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

i just checked the top 100 on dj mag  i mean, is there any reason why drugs shouldnt be legal? tiesticle , van dick, armin something... still hold the top 3 digweed on 8? and i saw some lame djs too, entring the top like atb(13), benny benasi(18) and by the way, why is lee burridge on 56?isnt this a dj top? i am verry upsead of this years vote result, i think top100djmag is taking a serious option in conquering with the grammys this year it sucks! :Hurl:

#289051Post 70 of 105

M.I.K.E ranked 62? Where's Mr. Steve Porter? This list is really a silly marketing tool to get us all fired up. I for one, just realize that I'm not in the "popular majority" of listeners out there. I don't give a damn about it either. I like what I like, and if I wrote the top 100 list, it sure as hell wouldn't look like that. Oh well, according to this list, I'm so out of it that I better go and buy everything Tiesto and PVD have done and "get with it." Later on!

#289065Post 71 of 105

Well that was well worth the 30 seconds it took me to vote, hopefully Ms. Harris, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Fair etc shall make the next 150...

#289070Post 72 of 105

it's obviously a popularity contest. same thing goes for all-star games in baseball/basketball...how can you justify players making the all-star team when they've been out the whole season? you can't. same goes for this poll. so in the grand scheme of things, this doesn't matter. you're not going to stop seeing your fav DJ just because he/she didn't make it to the Top 5.

#289091Post 73 of 105
next year [ms] needs to hi-jack the pole
You can ride the pole next year, but leave me out of it.

"this sucks bullshit" "i hate trance .... lets kill everyone" photo that we've seen a million times

who gives a fuck not like the poll really dictates anything.

#289110Post 75 of 105

I wonder if John will give Tiesto a big congrats on his next show?

But seriously you guys expected something different than the last 3 years?

Re: DJ Mag top 100 2004

Look at it this way: 01 - Tiesto 02 ? Paul Van Dyk 03 ? Armin Van Buuren 04 ? Sasha 05 ? Ferry Corsten 06 ? Hernan Cattaneo 07 ? Christopher Lawrence 08 ? John Digweed 09 ? Paul Oakenfold 10 ? Deep Dish 11 ? Carl Cox 12 ? Sander Klienenberg 13 ? ATB 14 ? Judge Jules 15 ? James Zabeila

Take out the fluffytrance dj's that alot of people on here don't care for and look what's left; Sasha, Hernan, & Digweed in the top 3. All ya gotta do is imagine the Tiesto's and PVD's (and their like) just don't count for anything and the list makes alot more sense. x x x x x x x x x x:wink: x x x x x x x x x x:wink:x x x x x x x x x x:wink: x x x x x x x x x x:wink:
