well, it's a live set for me, and wow, it's from digweed.

the year he won #1 dj from dj mag, and broadcast his ceremony or whatever from bedrock on his kiss show, like nov 5th or something 2001 i'm thinking. anyway, some girl introduces him as #1 , the crowd screams like mad, he drops that Peace Division cut. I wet my pants.
WOW.. I had the same reaction to that start.. the girl screaming JD's name is unbelievable.

My choice is:

 • Paul Oakenfold on GU007. The track is Mystica - Bliss (Mystica mix). Everytime I hear that track my heart runs faster.. heheh
anyone for the offspring - smash lp? what a way to kick that CD off.

Ah, it's time to relax, and you know what that means, a glass of wine, your favourite easy chair and of course this compact disc playing on your home stereo. So go on indulge yourself, that's right, kick off your shoes, put your feet up, lean back and and just enjoy the melodies. After all, music soothes even the savage beast....
thanks for reminding me of that :D

what an album, I used to play it everyday,,, oh, my young punk rocker years...

The original Future Sound of London EM, all the stuff about downloading etc when the internet was still something rare.

Re: Best Intro/Start to a set or cd.

I think a good track to start with is One Perfect Sunrise by Orbital. When John Digweed started one of his June shows with that track it sent chills down my back.

Re: Best Intro/Start to a set or cd.

Soulwax/2manydjs used to start their sets with La La Land accapella and their bootleg of Led Zep 'Immigrant Song'. Always worked.

cheers, RH

I love the way Paul van Dyk used BT - Fibonacci Sequence to start his Mayday 2000 set.

I also really like the intro to Steiger's kiss set from last year.

#272796Post 94 of 217

Re: Best Intro/Start to a set or cd.

Both discs on Steve Lawler's GU Nubreed! Also, there was a really cool Moshic mix I heard a while back...used a bunch of tv/radio channel surfing as an intro...very cool.

Re: Best Intro/Start to a set or cd.

I used to do mix tapes back in the day & used the famous line from Pulp Fiction by SL Jackson(strike down upon thee). Also did an intro from the x-Files movie, some samples from Event Horizon. They sounded killer for the intro to a fast paced energy driven mix. Also had some samples of jet fighters taking off and high speed passes that worked really well to.

Re: Best Intro/Start to a set or cd.

Sasha - Live New Years Eve 1999

The first track on this set is undeniably one of the coolest intros I've ever heard.

I think it may have even been used for the trailer for Terminator 3 - Rise of The Machines.

Transport 6 - Trendriod CD1 & Dj Tiesto - In Search Of Sunrise 2 get honourable mentions on my list.
