Re: Are we on the brink of WWIII ?
hey, listen, and hear me out on this. it might take you a minute to understand why and how.
the more im reading about the lebanon shit, the more i notice that thier government isnt getting up in rhetoric, but actually seems OK with allowing isreal to rid them of this vile element of its population. they called off their army, pulled it north, and isnt even sending a lot of aid into the region outside of helping evacuations.
now, remember last year. what it took to get syria out of lebanon. and the reaction of the lebanese people in regards to the assassinations afterwards.
then, for the last two days, trucks with explosives and weapons have been destroyed by the IAF coming in from syria. syria is openly showing its hand in attacking lebanon. while the attack does not come from the front line, it comes from the back, via support, weapons, money and supplies.
does anyone think that it might serve international interests of long term peace, and democracy in the region if lebanese government and isreali government simply come to a basic agreement to defend the region as a whole, if only for a short time, from terrorist and extremist elements that are funded by foreign relgious leadershp under the guise of government.
ie. what if they got together and agreed to fight this one 2 fronts. lebanese military could initiate a response to those in syria which elect to continually send aramants into hezbollahs hands. while isreal, takes on the lebanese based hezzie's whoa re currently fighting them.
it actually accomplishes much, while allowing both governments to act in defense of their citizens, it shows a stronger attitude toward peace, and also shows that two of the stronger democracies(syria's being jsut that and nothing more quite yet, YET) will unite and work for a common goal. also the addition of lebanon into the so called war on terror would garner much sympathy from a much needed group of people. the muslim population. no one wants to see thier own people attacked or do the attacking, so if a larger contingent of the muslim population, especially one that has yet to have US military in its backyard, shows a desire to voice up towards peace and democracy, it can only help spread those ideals which, i personally think, that a lot of the people in the middle east want, but are either afraid or unmotivated to speak.
and in regards to iranian interference, let them jump in. because the UN and the current nations with military in the region, wouldnt hesitate to remove a man who has already violated millions of people of thier human rights, forcing people to wear identification based on religion. remember the last time people had to do that.

also, at the basic human need for society and social interaction without fear..it very well could be a simple stepping stone for the beginning of a peaceful co existence between two peoples who, right now, need jsut that. we shouldnt have to hear the same story and watch the same news forever regarding this. someday, a generation will grow up in gaza where a jew and muslim and a christian can all grow up together without harboring an unearned, unneeded, deep rooted hatred for each other. its happened everywhere else in the world.
eh..... one can only hope.
Well, the more you read, the more you start making sense Sean.
