Re: involv3r tracklist

Listened again in the car on the way home, the tracks are superb, and he actually layers a lot of the transitions, but then a big change, unless you are listening carefully it sounds like he has just slammed the next track in.

1st transition is not great at all, then another at 35mins ruins the flow and again a bit later. But the tracks are very good imho and I bet by the time he finished reworking them all he was probably bored and couldn't get into the actual mix.

Still not ready to give this a go... I don't want to be disappointed.

Re: involv3r tracklist

its not quite as bad on the second listen, i think what it is was super high expectations, especially with the hype and length of time it took to put out. and really its a pretty average comp for him.

Re: involv3r tracklist

The XX remix has the kinda melodic sounds Holden used to produce.

The vocals are TERRIBLE.

Re: involv3r tracklist

My friend bought this and played it to me, wasn't interested in it enough to buy it for myself..

Re: involv3r tracklist

Really? That was my one of my favorites on the album. :( Different tastes.

Re: involv3r tracklist

I actually quite like it. It's a grower - not as intricate as the others but some of the tracks are fucking brilliant. Problem is we've had access to some of them since last year so they are already over played! Don't really like the into, first or third track but loving all the others. The mixes are quite brash but it's pretty pumpin.

Any idea when Saiz's album is released?

they really are !.

i don't know, involv3r is not even a grower. And most of the involv3r tunes we heard him play before the release, got manipulated.

I guess there will be an unmixed version too.

Re: involv3r tracklist

I don't understand you people. Chill out. This is REALLY, REALLY GREAT ALBUM and I have nothing more to add.

sbando give yourself a break from internet.

Re: involv3r tracklist

^^^I just gave this a proppa listen at home on the full stereo, wow, its really not that great, was hard to get through it to tell u the truth :(

one word to describe this release - Disappointing.

Listening to ADD now, what a breath of fresh air. amazing how good this sounds more then a decade later.

Was thinking that too when I heard Involv3r. Don't think anything can be better than ADD, even now it's completely unique and no one, not even Sasha, has produced anything like it since.

#1675404Post 177 of 237

Re: involv3r tracklist

i listened to this for the first time last night, and, since I was working and not listening carefully, it really did sound like the new tracks were just boomed in all in one go. Very strange. Some tracks were better than others. Too much vocals...

Overall: 3/5 from me, will see if it improves with a few listens

#1675406Post 178 of 237

Re: involv3r tracklist

would be great if he decided to take a break touring, spend some real hard time in the studio with charlie, create some magic and put another true artist album out like ADD. imagine a sequel to this with the technology available today compared with 2002

Sasha had tweeted the other day that ADD had broken him, hence no follow up to that... I suppose even a super star DJ needs a break every once in a while and yes "our" expectations do run extremely high.

#1675432Post 182 of 237

Re: involv3r tracklist

I have 2 copies of Airdrawndagger (one copy in foil, never unpacked) and believe me - involv3r is great. Without Charlie but with old team Duncan, Barry, Leo and fresh players Dave, Grayson and Dennis, I think they all did a great job!

Before release date I was a little pessimistic for this record, more when listen ultraista remix.

BTW.

I think that cooperation Charlie May with James Lavelle is a mistake and step back in Charlie carrier. Lavelle have bad taste in music, even Charlie May skills will not help here.

u craza brotha, the Final 80mins of that Lavelle/May collaboration is pure bliss. give it another try

& btw, 13 posts in nine years that is awful and used to be justification for a ban I believe

Re: involv3r tracklist

Man... Do not expect anything from them at the level sasha-cm collaboration.

That's like a 11-year break from ADD and then he releases this

If you're referring to Shoot Me Down, the vocal would've been nice if it came out in 1990

I'm currently listening to the entire album via youtube - lord knows how it has been allowed to be put on there?

Anyway, I like vocals so I'm hoping this will be ok.

Re: involv3r tracklist

Can´t say i'm surprised with all the bad comments from this CD because Sasha has been criticized on mostly every recent stuff available here on MS...

Personally i´ve enjoyed Involv3r ... First Involver still by far my fav though

^ :D I got a copy on my hard drive, I love it. It has such a beautiful atmosphere and flow to it. Did you listen to both cds in one go? I don't think Ive done that yet.

Re: involv3r tracklist

Well, I think I might just be one of the few members in the most ideal scenario to listen to this mix. I started with ADD on our roadtrip, then involver, then the involv3r and I gotta say I am very impressed with the first 20 minutes. Will review the rest when I am done, but it seems like this roadtrip has given me the right perspective and environment, especially late at night on an empty highway with just me, my headphones and tree's flying past me, oh and the moonlight.
