Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

got the CD (with signed slip case) today!! wow that was quick actually, nice job getting these out so fast,

i probably am going to have to double buy this. i cant live without all the single trax, cant believe its so cheap on beatport, only 0.40 cents a track and the continuous mixes are basically FREE!!

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
Scott I just wanted to ask you question.. which you probably won't be able to answer, but anyway.. did you guys know that you will be relising this as an album before hand ? I am only asking because the mixing in CD1 is amazing.. we all know that John is very precise in general, but CD1 feels almost like a studio album at times. I know that most of you here probably think that its perfectly normal.. but I find it fascinating. Either way.. bravo! Cordoba had a similar feel to it as well.
Uncle John is just that good, nobody is even on the same level when it comes to mixing in my opinion, and i totally agree cd1 mixing is out of this world. The transition between Twilight (Edu Imbernon 96' Mix) - Jozif & , Iridescent - Wiretappeur is so good i wanna cry.

After a few listens of the mixes, i can definitely say that i can't remember a better digweed performance on a mix, cd1 is a soulful journey, backed up by an awesome cd 2 which keeps you interested when cd3 comes in and chunks it up, ready to go into cd 4 and get into that Digweed zone that he puts you in like no other dj. This compilation in my opinion is everything that live in cordoba promised but didn't deliver, it seems to encapsulate everything diggers is all about in 4 cds. Where cordoba was a complete tease where it ended just as i was getting in the zone, this comp gets in the zone and brings you along for the ride. This mix has captured my imagination like no other, i've never even give a review of a mix before but felt the need to give two for this mix!! I can only begin to imagine what the rest of this set was like in the club, must of been epic. Mix of the year without a doubt, took guy gerbers crown after his fabric. 3 words - John fucking Digweed. 2 more - my hero.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

i'd also like to add that it's incredible value for money. 55 tracks and 4 mixes for 13 quid off beatport. 55 tracks would cost £75+ individually. Fantastic.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

another transition that is off the scales is, Obsidian/Oblivion (Feat. FEMME) (Deleted Edit) - Blamma! Blamma! & Miles from Me - SI, on cd 2. Some ridiculously good mixes on this compilation, even for diggs.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

great reviews guys and glad this one is ticking all the boxes for everyone - keep them coming as it's really good to get feedback and really happy peoples orders are getting there, my concern was the start of the seasonal post which if we had done December 10th release date would have probably caused a huge amount of delivery delays

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

mine arrived with a slipcase apparently. Shame I am away from home until the 17th...also tempted by the double buy just so I can listen now. Reading the reviews is killing me...
i hope this type of a release is the sign of more of these to come. Would be wonderfully to have a diggers full length live mix out every year.
My my.... Wouldn't that just make my year :)

JD, I sure hope that you listening in ;)

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

Gosh I wish peeps could post reviews without any Cordoba references.... It's getting stale. Move on folks. Clearly it was not everyone's cup of tea.

I can't even wrap my head around all 4 CDs, it's too much Digweed

You guys at Bedrock do realize you've set the bar now, there's no going back from this. It's gonna be hard listening to one or two-CD releases

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I think the only quibble is that the 4 CDs aren't continuous, each fades out and the next seems to pick up with a different track (?).

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

Got mine yesterday to Australia :D I love the packaging. Kind of reminds me of Global undergrounds with the booklet, photos and a few words from Digweed about the night. As the for the mix, am loving it! Awesome tracks and mixing. Lights low, volume high as recommened. Would definately buy more releases like this :)

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD
ha ha CD5 , 6 and 7 are mindblowing but only available on limited edition black label acetate only, self destructs after one listen
I remebered the Fire set a as a mindblowing journey into a proggy-techy journey with an accompanying array of mostly nondescript transitional tracks during the first 5hrs. I must say the live mix was a diverse one that started rather light and airy before getting progressively darker and bigger with each obsessive record, pretty much what I've come to expect from Digweed's due to the 15yrs old ultimate veneration of John. The last 3hrs of Fire set hit me hard and intensely until the very end so guys please consider releasing part 2 of Live in London. If people claim part 1 is a piece of art of djing I see the rest of the night as pyrotechnics.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

CD2 - Jemmy>Mohn>Mohn

This is simply superb. Fire must have been going nuts during this section.

There was a time when I would have been able to spot the exact mix between the two Mohn versions but not any more.

Still have not really given CD3 and 4 a proper listen. CD1 for me is very, very good, especially the Maher Daniel/Dusky/Jozif section.

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

I finally got my CDs with the slipcase. I think my favorite CDs were CD1 and CD4. Does anyone know if this is the first 5 hours of the set or are they cut from various parts? Sounds like CD4 may be the last hour of the set.

#1658369Post 237 of 426

Re: Digweed live in London 4xCD

First five hours ... no cuts.

I can't stop listening to CD1, it's so good. For me the highlights are Nobody and Twilight>Iridescent>What I Might Do. :D
