Was really sad to see this thread :( Been reading all the posts and it really got me very upset, eventhough i didnt know Jib very well i always thought he is a smart funny and wise guy with a lot of musical taste.

What really made me sad is that his friends wanted to help but he chose not to ask for help and bother anyone....he just wanted to be free... May god rest his soul... condolensces to his family and friends

I too personally didn't know Steve but as a member of the site it crushed me to read this. Kamal thank you for saying the kind words. R.I.P Steve "Jibs" James. You will be dearly missed by everyone here.

Kamal, thank you so much for your post. some of us knew different bits and pieces, but you're one of the ones who's been there for him for the long haul.

i feel like i have so many things that i want to say, but ... i just ... can't do it right now. not with any sort of cohesion at least. my mind is still completely fogged with emotion, and i'm physically, emotionally, and mentally drained. it's taking every bit of energy just to function. if you want to call it that.

reading everyone's posts usually brings out the tears again, but at the same time brings some comfort.

another update about the thanksgiving weekend event, which i forgot to post last night ... steve graham is now on the line-up for that evening. will post full details and flyer once it's completed.

WTF, I came on here for the first time in ages to find a tracklisting for a set & found a picture of Steve @ the top of the page, I'm absolutely gob smacked, I've known Steve since 2000/2001 through the first time he posted onto the original bedrock board, I introduced him to MS after finding a post in the GU sets section, if I remember right he was one of the 1st 10/20 people to sign up to the forum when the 1st message board was setup on here, he was a great friend to me & we spent hours on MSN bitching with each other, he was a big fan of a site which the name I forget where he sourced most of his disgusting pictures from & he'd found this picture of a very very very fat women with a rose stuck up her back side, I can't remember the countless amount of times this picture went back & forward between me & him in emails with subjects such as "digweed last night" "pics from bedrock @" & anything else S&D related to lure one to open the email, LOL! He even got creative at one point & used M$ Paint to tattoo my name onto her butt aswell, cheeky git!! The last time I spoke to him was just over a month ago & he seemed ok, he was really cuffed about these gigs at a local venue where he was playing classics, that was the last time I spoke to him.

yeahh, I keep thinking about him and that pic up there isn't helping.. whenever Im walking around my apt, to my car, into the kitchen, etc.. I just see his face.. think of his posts.. his sets and avatars and just say why! why oh why did you do it! This really sucks man! MS has really lost a special person here! Very sad.

I'm with you 100%. I've been gutted the entire week and I never met Steve in person. Perhaps it's because he reminds me of me (in both good and bad ways) that has me so depleted right now. I think I may take some time off from this place and think about some stuff. I care for all of you, but time does heal wounds though it may leave the scars. I hope one day we can all find each other back on again, but right now I can't take it.

I feel like a crazy person but I keep sending him text messages and IM's saying the things I wish I could have told him.

I have been numb all week until an hour ago where it all just spilled out of me, it wasn't pretty but it was to be expected.

2 days before he ended everyting he asked me what new DVD's he should go rent because he needed something to watch... I sent him a link for a really amazing set that he said he didn't have and before I could say anything else he signed off. All weekend long I was thinking I hope he got the set and wanted to hear what he thought of it, cause I knew he would love it.

I still can't close that window and I can't delete him from my phone.

I don't want to. I guess I will when I am ready, but being ready isnt something I want to be right now. I guess I've been lucky so far in live and not losing many people I care about so far, but this still feels different.

I'm just ranting at this point. Sorry.

I miss him so much right now, it just really really hit home. Ugh

Damn... I'm really sorry to hear this, I don't know what to say, I never met him but I feel, like many others in this forum, like if i really did, i guess the only right thing to do is to keep paying respect to his memory and that this is the way he would like to be remembered.

This is terrible news. While I didn't personally know Steve, I have been an MS member for 4 years and definitely knew who he was. He was one of the most active members here and finding out about this is earth-shaking to say the least. This is very, very sad and my heart goes out to his family and every one that was close to him.

You will be missed Jib!

Oh My God, I can not believe this! I'm truly sorry and devastated. I never had the chance to meet Steve directly but I had the privilege to share his friendship and music vision for the last years throughout ms . He supported me all through these years, and yet just a few months ago we did mercurysessions together. I'm still shocked, My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. I'm so so verrry sorry. I hope you find peace where you are Steve. You will be missed!

So, so true. It's so important to share shit with others. I didn't know Jibs, but he has been the life and soul of this board for the 4 1/2 years I've been on here. My thoughts are with you his friends, and his family.

Mike, don't delete his number - you'll come across it every now and then and it will give you reason to have a little smile and remember your mate.

Never met Steve but read a LOT of his [ms] posts and listened to his sets at home. Really sad that such a lovely person had to go like this. Hard to believe someone who DJs and loves EDM could do such a thing but after reading the story, it makes more sense :(

In South Africa, a DJ died in his sleep and every year we hold a party in remembrance and to raise money for his special causes - perhaps an idea for you guys?

You don't need to delete anything until you are ready, if you ever are. I read my message history on MSN with him all the time....it brings a bit of comfort when I do. I also can't delete that final text from him either....I have locked it to my phone so I don't ever lose it....I almost called him last night just so I could hear him on his voicemail, but then I watched those wonderful video's MJ put up and that helped...

Steve I miss you terribly and I hope you can see how much we all loved you....I can't stop thinking about you and my heart aches for you. I hope you are finally at peace and maybe one day we will meet again.....love you Jibs xoxox

I wish more than anything I could make it on Friday, but being in Canada it's just not going to happen :(

As for the funeral....is there a way to post information anyways in case some of us want to send flowers.....or better yet, do you know if there is a particular charity they are collecting for on his behalf? I would like to pay my proper respects some how and any information you could share would be very appreciated.

Im pretty slow off the mark after being away from the forum for a little while and just saw this yesterday. I never really had much to do with Jibs but was obv well aware of his massive personality and him being such an obv joker and good guy :) Despite our lack of contact I have still felt pretty damn depressed since finding out yesterday and can only offer my condolances and sympathies to those that were closer to him.

I sincerely hope that he has found a happier place... RIP dude

Steve is the man who brought me to this board through is love of music..

I met him back in 2004, and brought him out to Salt Lake City to play a few gigs. In that time, I grew a fondness for the Stebe and he became like a brother to me. Steve was the one who got me into going to Winter Music Conference, and I'll always cherish the memories of blotting his face while dancing to John Digweed at the PawnShop.

I'm floored by this news, and appreciate the love that all of you show for him. He had a family here, and it was a beautiful thing.

I don't know what I'm going to do with out my weekly emails of Ben Watt sets, and snarky IM conversations.

Thanks for sharing this information, as I never would have found out otherwise.
