Re: PS3 questions
That' great but I need something for the PS3 to chat while gaming online without having the PC next to me as well. :p
Re: PS3 questions
i've been researching and think the Plantronics 350 looks good
why do u have to install linux to use skype? i use skype on both mac and pc and they both work fine
He could install WIndows or Mac OSX on the PS3 but there are still some bugs with that. It'd be easier for him to install Linux and use Skype that way while still playing PS3 online. I've got a 250GB in my PS3 now and am thinking that I will have to upgrade that thing before the year's over. :O

I looked at it but went in the end with ordering a Jabra 2020 for almost half the price..soon we can give it a try in GTA IV. :)
Re: PS3 questions
I ordered the 350 a few days ago and it was shipped Tuesday. tracking GTA says it'll arrive today, and the headset should be within a day or two. have you figured out if Europe and US can be on the same server?
Re: PS3 questions
So far the only thing I got to work were installing faked USA and Japanese store accounts so I can get all the demos and trailers lol. I still wait for my headset to arrive and then I will look into playing online..without it does not seem to make sense for me..I can't imagine typing sentences neither with the controller nor with a keyboard. When we both have everything let's just try it out together, ok?
Another question for the GT5 gamers...is it possible to win gold trophies in ALL races without using manual shifting and/or a wheel? In each league there are 1-2 missions where I see zero chance in getting 2nd or 1st in the race. The races where you need to overtake all cars in one round for example...ffs how this should be doable is beyond me lol.
Another question for the GT5 gamers...is it possible to win gold trophies in ALL races without using manual shifting and/or a wheel?
Yes. I did that will all of my races. You need to know how to drive, Tom. ;)
In each league there are 1-2 missions where I see zero chance in getting 2nd or 1st in the race.
False.
The races where you need to overtake all cars in one round for example...ffs how this should be doable is beyond me lol.
You want a quick tip? Here's how you beat those cars. You select your car, join the race, then drive. :p
Re: PS3 questions

Wait until you finish Class A, Tom... you're in for a treat.
Re: PS3 questions
Somehow everything I buy for the PS3 is cursed LMAO. The PS3 had a damage on the 2nd day and had to be replaced, the WiFi router I received was damaged already when I tried to set it up and had to be replaced and yesterday I received an E-Mail from the vendor on Amazon who was supposed to send the headset to me. They asked kindly to review them but I did not get anything so far. Now they need to see where that fucking thing ended cause I know not at my end.....

Re: PS3 questions
^^ He's not your typical case but that is unfortunate. So far, my system hasn't overheated, locked up or shown any glitches. I've had mine since last December.
Re: PS3 questions
nifty add on coming to PS3

Re: PS3 questions
LOL @ that jab about PlayStation Home.
What I'm looking forward to is the add-on for being able to listen to any music while you play games, etc. on the PS3. The update with XMB and Trophies was scheduled to come out last week but it's been delayed. Argh. Can't wait.
Re: PS3 questions
The ingame XMB is the only thing I look out for because I hope you can chat also in Games without they have their own chat option. The trophies or the Home Software are nothing I am really interested in. What I would be interested in is to implement a h264 codec so you can play hidef movies in mkv format directly on it without reencoding it to a PS3 friendly format.

Quit yer bitching.

Re: PS3 questions
does anyone know if the 80 gb ones are released ? circuit city still doesn't have them. (I can't stop abusing that 0% deal structure they have going for virtually everything in store)
Re: PS3 questions
80gb SKUs have been out for awhile now
Re: PS3 questions
It was discontinued but re-released for the MGS4 package and finally went on sale on June 12. I saw a couple of them last night. I almost bought the silver 40GB Jap version. Was very tempting as this one was region free.

(I can't stop abusing that 0% deal structure they have going for virtually everything in store)
If I'd known that you were looking for one I would have posted the info. (that was floating around) about the deal that WalMart ran and how Best Buy was matching it. WalMart had where you could buy any B-D player, you get a $100 store gift card good for anything and then Sony had when you get their credit card and your first purchase is over $299, you got $100 rebate. So, potentially, you could have gotten the 80GB for $399 plus $100 for add-ons. Crazy.

Re: PS3 questions
installed it since day1 of release and works perfectly fine for me
Re: PS3 questions
Today the Dual Shock 3 pad arrived and now it's charging. I hope most Future Games will support it and I think I have seen such an option in GTA IV already..but I will try it out later anyway after the pad is charged. Did anybody else buy this Pad and has already made experiences with it in Games be it good or bad? From the first feeling it lies good in the hand because it is a bit heavier than the regular one. I am curious how long the battery will last after it was completely charged..I guess the Rumble option sucks up a lot of power.
Re: PS3 questions
my second controller is a dualshock 3 ... rumble works fine with GTA and it usually last for 2 full days of play from a full charge
Re: PS3 questions
I saw that release yesterday about the possible "bricking" that 2.40 has done with some units. I've got it installed and have no issues currently. I have the DS3 and fully charged it last night. I prefer the vibrating function and feel better than that of the X360 controller BUT I am thinking of moving my DS3 innards into the X360 controller like what Ben Heck did. As for backwards function, there are a lot of older games that have updates you can download so that the vibration feature will work on them.
Re: PS3 questions
haven't had any issues with 2.4. I'm digging how the PS button now brings you to the whole menu rather than to the 4-option menu it had.
Re: PS3 questions
^ ?
I didn't notice that change. Time to go slap my ass cheeks together and look.
Re: PS3 questions
Is 2.40 out already? I did not see any notice yesterday when I turned the PS3 on.
Re: PS3 questions
Is 2.40 out already? I did not see any notice yesterday when I turned the PS3 on.
it was out briefly, but then i guess some people reported problems installing it so they took it offline. everyone i talked to said theirs worked great, but i didnt snag it in time... :(
Re: PS3 questions
Tom, It came out, then lots of people reported their PS3s no longer working, no video on the screen or their hard drives died so Sony is checking into it and doing repairs at no charge for customers that have to send in their units. Talk about a snafu. Mine works so far...
