March 18th - March 26th (Saturday ? Sunday) are the dates for the Miami Music Conference, the longest, largest, highest-profile celebration of music in the city's history: With an extended 9 day schedule of music, celebrity DJs, industry events, and world-class musicians, the Miami Music Conference is the flagship music event of the year. Why the longer schedule?

In the past, cramming the celebration into just one long weekend has caused several challenges:

1. Not all attendees can fly to Miami on the same weekend.
2. There are too many events to attend and not enough time to attend them;
3. Too many visitors flying into and out of Miami resulting in higher flight rates;
4. Insufficient amount of hotel rooms resulting in over priced accommodations and services;
5. Long lines and over priced door covers resulting from way too much consumer demand:
6. Overcrowded and uncomfortable clubs putting everyone (especially club doormen) in a bad mood;
7. No time to stop and enjoy Miami and the Beaches.

With a generous schedule of 9 days (5 weekdays and 2 weekends), the Miami Music Conference offers two different weekends for attendees to choose from. Miami locals now get a chance to see the action and Spring Breakers can finally take in the experience. DJs can play longer sets, attendees can catch more industry events, and, most importantly, more people can see more DJs. ?Clubs have already started booking DJs to play two shows instead of just one. On March 18th and 19th, the world's premiere music festival is coming to Miami. [B]The Global Gathering Festival[/B], one of the hottest music celebrations of the planet, heads to the US, thanks to a partnership between Angel Music Group, Track Entertainment, and Space Miami. It's the world's third-ever Global Gathering, following on the heels of the two hugely successful European festivals in England and Ireland. These current shows have been produced by AMG over the past five years, setting attendance records in both countries along the way.

The success of 2005’s existing shows has prompted AMG to look for further territories in which to expand the phenomenal Global Gathering concept, which has sold out every previous show. Speaking on the partnership, an AMG spokesman mentioned the reasons for the expansion: “After the unbelievable response for our events in the UK and Ireland this year we believed that there were many further cities worldwide that were crying out for a quality music event for upwards of 30,000 people. It was Track’s existing large scale show expertise that prompted the agreement to be made.”

Track Entertainment has grown since inception in 1987 to a multi talented event producer and has controlled shows featuring some of the world’s most respected artists including Destiny’s Child, Velvet Revolver, Green Day, and Kanye West.

The partnership is completed by local Promoter and well-respected businessman Louis Puig who has been at the forefront of Miami nightlife promotion for over 30 Years including his ownership of the world-renowned Space Nightclub. His unrivalled knowledge and talent relationships have made him the obvious man to complete the team.

Speaking on signing the agreement Puig said:

last year they were calling it the miami music conference as well. the logo in the email was on the space pass last year... the m3 summit is just 5 days of parties .. this year is longer because they threw the global gathering in the mix.

thats all fine and dandy if the conference is the 24th - 28th. that usually lasts 4-5 days anyway. the parties around the conference are never based on same dates, they just kind of coincide. either way, see you boys in miami! Woooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

if you look at all the dates they are all different.. the m3 summit info is on the RA site and it has the 22-26 RA i think has dates for the conference, but since the conference is now partenerd (sp) with the ultra fest they include the weekend miami music conference is an attempt to capitalize on the wmc with a different name, maybe getting the same sponsor to pay to be the featured for each.. the only reason the MMC start earlier is because they are partenered with global gathering

the extended dates are the ones i would follow saturday march 18 thru the 26 for parties ..they are probably spliting the actual conference with the ultra fest down the middle, just to make sure its succesful

I was just waiting for the dates to be announced to book. Will seriously try to book within the following week before the hotels start hiking the price up. Where's everyone planning to stay? I ended up staying in downtown last time.

last year i stayed on the beach..payed 220 a night for a 10' x 10' square .. neverquite made it to the beach (except for my little mishap :oops: . i think we should really try to get a package deal with a hotel and have a party there... what happen to all the believers? ... anyway i think its a little to far to book without knowing whos playing when ... im probably goin to go sun- thurs (the first sunday) , that way i only miss one day of work and a weekly meeting......
