http://bleacherreport.com/articles/393150-cleveland-is-the-reason One thing I always did like about professional sports is the drama you find in its buisness aspect during the off season. I Iook forward to seeing how LeBron's situation will work out. I say he stays in Cleveland, but it will be fun to see the offers other teams make for him....

it would be a money shot for the NBA; think about it...

Re: LeBron's future?

Think he might being going to New York. He damn sure can't win in Cleveland. I really thought with the addition of Shaq they stood a chance and man was I wrong.

Re: LeBron's future?

no clue what his plans are since espn and company have come up with SO many different ideas... some pretty asinine. i'd be willing to guess we shouldn't believe anything the media throws at us. i laughed when i heard about calipari leaving kentucky to coach lebron. if that happened, i'd be stunned. then again, getting an opportunity to coach the team lebron is on would be an experience of a lifetime.

where ever he chooses to go, the team's gotta have a lot of money and leverage so they can build a team that's going to win a championship. la or new york are good spots.

I mean do they have an edge going in... JAMES: Oh, absolutely. Larry King: ...your home team? JAMES: Absolutely. Because, you know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years. And, you know, for me, it's comfortable. So I've got a lot of memories here. And - and so it does have an edge.
This news is sure to delight fans of the Cavaliers, and infuriate anybody associated with the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, and especially the NBA Finals' participants in Boston and Los Angeles. James has been very careful to not discuss anything related to free agency since the Cavs were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs three weeks ago, and the sports media across the country has been forced to deliver content based purely on speculation and rumor. With this single admission by LeBron, expect another seismic shift in the discussion across your television and radio tuners. But despite all the earlier panic in northeast Ohio and the previous jubilation in New York City, this news shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. People have been frantically trying to concoct their own scheme of events and steer the narrative to prove that LeBron James is going to leave/stay. It started three years ago when New Yorkers began the "LeBron will come to the mecca of sports" theme, based simply because James showed up at a Cleveland Indians game wearing a Yankees hat. Anybody within a 100-mile radius of Times Square had convinced themselves that this was proof of LeBron wearing a Knicks jersey any day now. The stories have become almost legendary since then. He'd leave because Jay-Z is his friend. He'd leave because he was mad at the Cavaliers for trading Zydrunas Ilgauskas. He'd leave because it's the only city where he can get a good bagel. He'd leave because he always has his best games in Madison Square Garden. Never mind the fact that he plays amazing in MSG due to the fact that it's the New York Knicks that are guarding him in that building.Today's revelation that LeBron James is favoring Cleveland will only shock people who don't really know him that well. The man grew up in this city. His childhood is in this region, and he's not trying to escape it. Rather, he's been working hard to raise this area up with selfless charity work and a constant presence to remind the world that he's from Ohio and is forever proud of his home. It's not a coincidence that he accepted his MVP awards at Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary and on the campus of Akron University. Akron, Ohio is where he is most comfortable and he knew that the most important people in his life would be there to see one of the happiest moments in his NBA career. LeBron's mother lives here. His family lives here. His friends live here. Everyone in the cast of "More Than A Game" lives here, and if you saw that movie, you know why he's staying here. Northeast Ohio is his home. LeBron has built a winner in the Cleveland Cavaliers and his work is not finished with that team. Over the next 30 days, there will be a lot of stories thrust into the news about him, but the bottom line is simple. He's staying with the Cavs and all the rumors are mere drama to raise the stakes. As this news begins to push over the airwaves until Friday's taped CNN appearance, expect the pro-Cleveland storylines to re-emerge. Expect the reports to remind NBA fans that the Cavaliers have the most money to offer James, up to 30 million dollars higher over a long-term deal. Expect to hear about LeBron's appeal to the NBA to change his jersey to #6, a move that is only necessary with the league if you are changing numbers on the same team. Expect to be told that LeBron can sell his product in China because part of the Cavaliers are owned by Chinese interests. China's government forbids the sale of any product that is imported without Chinese ownership, something the Knicks cannot match. The media pendulum is swinging back towards Cleveland. Please pay attention, it's likely going to stay there

Re: LeBron's future?

who cares, he may be the best athlete in the league, but he has a long way to go before he's the best player... MVP? lmao, i think the real mvp is still playing ;)

#1379481Post 8 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

he needs to resign with the cavs for $1. Open up all that money for the cavs to take on some strong talent. If he cares about winning a championship, that's the best way to do it. I understand he wants to make a buck, but he's raking in the cash with endorsements already. His choice of course, but If i were making tens of millions a year, and my drive was to earn a place in history with a championship ring, I wouldn't for a second put this nominal contract option off the table.

#1379488Post 9 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

He wants to be an icon more than winning a championship right now

#1387648Post 11 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

so now Lebron wants all these all stars to sign on the same team as him? lol, and this guy is meant to be the next MJ, lol, hardly I don't remember ever hearing about Mike trying to get Malone, Barkley etc to sign in Chicago, I remember him wanting to destroy them and rip their hearts out on his way to 6 rings though.. Kobe will have 2 hand fulls of rings before this idiot has 1

#1387657Post 12 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

quite frankly, i can't blame lebron. he realizes he needs help to win a ring so he's askin for it. can't blame a guy for wanting to win.

#1387659Post 13 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

that's just it, I think he wants what comes along with winning, but I don't think he has the heart nor does he have the killer instinct.. if he wanted to win he would re sign with Cleveland that just went to the play offs and not be looking at other teams, NY for instance, that hasn't had a winning season in 10 years, it's all about the fame, money and the brand my friend ;)

and if what you say is true, he should never be mentioned in the same conversation as Kobe and MJ.. yes they needed help to win their rings, but they never turned their back on the team and fans :)

he's a selfish athlete.. i know that's redundant, lol, but he is all about HIM

#1387663Post 14 of 144

Re: LeBron's future?

true... the only thing he posseses is raw talent (and shitloads of it) but he doesn't have near the mental capacity or work ethic to even touch kobe or MJ, imo.

and i totally dig what you're sayin about him wanting a ring any way he can get it, which is selfish. i still can't blame him.

I was just saying that since Stoudamire is signing with the Knicks, and it's always been said/speculated that Lebron wants to go to NY

Re: LeBron's future?

i want to see him be the best he can be and winning lots of championships with the Knicks, but i like the idea of having him in town (Miami) for some years, that would require season tix ... Lebron+Amare, maybe they'll add Shaq ?!! McGrady is with NY right ?

Re: LeBron's future?

lol, you think? if that happens, Miami will be the Yankees of the NBA :) and I bet it doesnt bring them a title, I just don't see those three sharing the ball.. christ Shaq and Kobe couldn't coexist, and 2 of those 3 have bigger egos, but we'll see after the king's presser tomorrow night, prime time! lmao, ghey

Re: LeBron's future?

i think he has a better shot in miami than in new york to win a title for the short term... and my personal preference would be to live in miami over new york. but who the hell would want to play for that fuck-squirt coach eric spoelestra? he seems like a clueless douche.

Re: LeBron's future?

lebron choices today :

1- stay in CLEV , not 2- NY Knicks with Amare and McGrady , hhmmmm, only because Lebron likes the NYCity and to bring its first NBA championship to NY, 3- Miami with Wade and Bosh and Riley, this will be a powerhouse, depends if Riley takes the headcoach, 4- Chicago, nice young rooster, adding Boozer is a +, but i think NY appeals mor to him than CHI.

tonite @ 9 PM, watching for sure, yes they have made a circus out of this but what are you going to do ? not watch it ?

I hope he blows a knee out in Miami (cuz that's where he headin)

Re: LeBron's future?

lol, I don't wish injury, but I hope those 3 doosh bags have zero chemistry and don't win shit

I say that because Cleveland and the fans bent over backwards for this ass, and this is how he repays them? he is NOT about winning, he is about "Lebron Inc"

Re: LeBron's future?

Drew Brees is facebooking that he just left ESPN and LeBron is going to New York or Miami. In the comments, someone posted this "LeBron James has rented six cabanas at the W Hotel South Beach this weekend to celebrate his team decision, two sources confirm to UsMagazine.com."
