Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
destroyed would be what Germany did to Australia, England and Argentina, lol
Must disagree just a LITTLE  with this... i think Spain did to Germany something very similar on what Germany did to both of us :)... i mean, on score chances, ball posession and all the important issues to control a game, Spain played a superb match and Germany could do nothing about it... If the scored were 3-0 (which again, was perfectly possible IMO) instead 1-0 things would be different...

Anyway Germany was a tremendous team among the whole WC and they will get 3rd place for sure.. Trully hope so cos they deserve it

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Sigh...what a shitty evening. Worst Game in the whole tournament from our side. Spain was better on all behalfs and they deserve to play the most desired Game of all Games so Congrats to Spain for making it to the Finals for the very 1st time in their history. I am not frustrated because we have lost against Spain but I am frustrated about the way we have lost. They didn't have respect but feared the opponent...didn't get that at all. Most players didn't play in 2008 when they lost against them as well and they have made some great Games in the tournament. Why on Earth they played so defense orientated is beyond me. They attacked Spain far too late, left the entire midfield for them and when they attacked, nobody was moving forward and it was a eye cancer feast of bad passes most of the time....horrible to watch. Especially when you know they can do better and that it's "only" a psychological thing.

Oh well, I won't complain too much about it. Average age is 23 on the team so they are just in their beginnings and reaching the Semi Finals was more than we dreamt of anyways before the tournament started. This Sunday I will watch the Finals and just cheer for the better team and stuff myself one last time with World Championship beer and bbq. This is the best about such tournaments anyways....have met my whole mates so many times in the last weeks and we have spent so much time together and had fun...priceless. Up for the next one in Brazil! :vuvu:

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

^^^ Euro 2012 should be a really exciting tournament! It will be interesting to see how France, Italy and England bounce back.. and then how Germany grows, as you said, outside of Klose they are such a young team with already a successful run at football's biggest prize

you should be very very proud mate!

So... FIFA has this 10 players as possible MVP.. Which one for you guys???

Diego Forlán (URU), Asamoah Gyan (GHA), Andrés Iniesta (ESP), Lionel Messi (ARG), Mesut Özil (GER), Arjen Robben (NED), Bastian Schweinsteiger (GER), Wesley Sneijder (NED), David Villa (ESP) and Xavi (ESP)

is that the neds player that kicked the spain player in the chest?

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

the spanish were clearly looking to gain a foul on loads of plays. Throwing themselves to the ground. Its so irritating. Pretty non-beautiful game overall!

Congrats to Spain though. A well played tournament.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

A pretty shit final let's not kid ourselves. If anyone in this crappy dive-fest deserves to be champions it has to be Spain but what a crap match. Desperate? Fuckin ell

Good goal, hit straight and it flew straight, not much to ask for is it? This world cup has been an embarrassment when it comes to finishing. The ball has been a joke more often than not and has encouraged people to just hit the thing with power and hope to gain something from the spills, percentage footall at it's worst.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

I am sick and tired of the passing game played by the Spanish. Thank God the Dutch did not let them play it ... Don't believe they deserved the win as both teams were crap imo.

Great goal by Iniesta btw

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

They didn't deserve to win? Fuck that man.. I think a few of you are missing the point, the final was ugly alright but ya can blame the ref and the dutch players took advantage of him, they played like thugs for the whole thing. The Spanish dived once or twice but every other dirty tackle was justified with a free kick. I counted at least 3 red cards against the dutch in that match, Webb should have sent a dutch player off early to warn the rest of the team, the yellow cards he was dishing out meant nothing. The english media are hilarious praising Webb's reffing, he was crap, didn't take control of the game at all.

Anyway its done and dusted now, Spain are righteous champions and were the better team won on the night. Also Happy for Diego Forlan who got the golden boot.

umm, that would be Thomas Mueller... you mean Forlan got the golden ball :)

sloppy boring final, congrats to Spain... Robben could have put it out of reach twice and for all the talk of him diving, when he could have gone down and probably should have, he stayed up and missed a golden chance to put the Dutch up Iniesta great goal, but most of the match he was on the floor, could have easily been booked for diving a few times and that bloke that cleated the Spanish player in the chest should have seen red imo... for all the yellows handed out I was surprised to see only one sending off, for a minute there it looked as though it could end up 8 v 8, lol

I still think it was an exciting world cup from a neutral stand point, but that ball better have seen its last match, lol plus way too many talking points regarding refereeing and bad/non calls

change ball back to this :

add one ref. behind each goal,

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Ahh yeah my mistake, Golden ball, boot whatevaz. :)

I thought the world cup was great. All the teams had problems with the ball initially but the more skilled players seem to deal with it after a match or two. Still think there was some class goals throughout the tournament and i enjoyed this world cup more so than previous years. That plus i was rooting for Spain from the start so a great result.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Thanks to heavy boozing on Saturday and jungle temperatures over the Weekend, I was a wreck on Sunday. I didn't meet my friends but stayed at home and passed out during the 1st half and missed the entire 2nd half and also the extra time. I woke up by 2 AM because it was frigging hot in the room and guess what...the Game was over. I only know the result and haven't seen enough to say something, be it good or bad. But no matter how it was, Congrats to Spain. If you make it to the Finals and win it, you have deserved to be called the Champions. So hats down and Viva Espana.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

And to liven things up even more i hear they're changing the rules governing what boots players must wear. Obviously it doesn't matter as it will be the same for everyone and the best players should still shine through shouldn't they? . . . .

Anyhting to make the game more "entertaining" for tv audiences has to be a winner doesn't it?

Personally i can't wait lol
