Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

The Cavs may win 1 more, but they definitely will not win 3 more. That being said with the Magic being the bigger and stronger team physically with a far superior bench of players, I think the Magic will win the next game out of principle.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.
you think he's going to leave? I've not heard either way tbh, just wondering I thought he was under contract for a while? :what
no he is a free agent after next year i beleive....and pretty much every is saying he wants to play at the garden for ny.

why would he stay in ctown with such a poor supporting cast.

#1224365Post 163 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

ny isn't a much better option right now.... but i can certainly understand wanting to play in ny more than cleveland.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

If I'm Cleveland I let Howard get his points down low and stop double-teaming him. The 3 is killing them. Cleveland's defense is what got them to this point of the season but they don't match up well with the Magic and you can tell they're feeling the pressure. Their role players who were so good all season have not played well so now it's a one man show just like Jordan early in his career.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

some good news!

NBA rescinds technical foul on Magic's Dwight Howard from Game 4 of Eastern Conference finals.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard had his technical foul from Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals rescinded by the NBA.

Howard was given his sixth technical of the playoffs for taunting Anderson Varejao after a layup in the third quarter of the Magic's 116-114 overtime victory Tuesday night. Cleveland's forward had draped his arms around Howard in a failed attempt to stop him from scoring.

The NBA announced it was rescinding the foul Wednesday. Under league rules, Howard would have been automatically suspended for one game if he received a seventh technical during the playoffs.

The Magic lead the Cavaliers 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. Game 5 is Thursday night in Cleveland.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^ That technical controversy, has Cleveland fans LIVID; they think it's a cons.

BTW. Lake show baby. Lake show.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^I'm no more pleased with the officiating during this series any more than the cavs fans are, my team just happens to be up 3 games to 1.

And boy did your lakes earn that win last night! Kobe showed a lot of professionalism by not overreacting to fouls/calls I thought.

#1224864Post 168 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^ yeah. Magic are just way overpowering atm. this series is so theirs.

well said chief, i like how Kobe played more as a decoy, and how Bynum performed.

tonight and tomorrow night will be nuts!

:)

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

if lebron pulls another game like that one ... ufff

imagine a game 7 !!!!!!!!

#1225217Post 171 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

they need Howard to play some D... he hasn't looked like the defensive player of the year at all in this series..

The officiating is horrible as well.. All LeBron has to do is go to the hole and gets a call everytime.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

I put my money on the magic in 6.If they can beat the best team in the nba, there should be no reason they can't handle the lakers.

"The league MVP, who also did not shake hands with Olympic teammate Dwight Howard or congratulate any Orlando players as he left the floor, said Sunday that he's happy in Cleveland and feels the Cavs made major progress this season."

"It doesn't make sense for me to go over and shake somebody's hand."

wtf?

#1225879Post 181 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^^Not to mention Lebron wearing a New York Yankees hat during his "explanation" interview kind of a jab.

#1225885Post 182 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

hell be in NY

#1225939Post 183 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

wow, so thats how the league mvp acts after his team gets outplayed by another team? and his explanation was great, lol as i have said before, he has a lot of growing up to do.. and hmm, mj won his first ring 7 years in, next year is year 7 for prince james

hey doosh james, noone "wants" to shake hands and acknowledge you just got beat down, especially after all the media hype in basically handing you the Eastern conference crown... but its the right thing to do, its also the grown up thing, the professional thing and the MANLY thing to do.. come back next season with less of a chip, less of an ego, and lose the fuckin NY hats, lol

#1225942Post 184 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^ i lost alotta respect for him when he did that... poor sport is poor, for the time being.

#1225993Post 185 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

I think he was irate because the officiating wasn't so one-sided this time, which really highlighted the Cav's weaknesses.

Either that or he was physically in pain and had to go take care of his injury before collapsing.

Something had to have occurred because walking off like that seems really out of character for James. Or a simple case of immaturity as already mentioned above.

#1226038Post 186 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^^^ if you heard his interview, he basically said he didnt want to shake hands because he's a winner and it doesnt make sense to him to shake someones hand who just beat you.. no injury, nothing about officiating, it was poor sportsmanship end of.

#1229340Post 190 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^True but still the best player in the league imo. Saying that, he still needs to win some hardware without Shaq. Odom is the X factor and if he plays hard and defends the perimeter well magic will be in trouble.

#1229425Post 191 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

^I agree the Lakers could win, but the Magic love being the underdogs, and while the Lakers are busy stroking their egos the Magic are going to quietly whittle away at them from behind the 3 point line and down low. As long as Howard can play his game without fouling early on we are hitting our shots, I think the Magic will come out on top (which would be awesome!!!) Our bench is also stronger, which is the overall x-factor. We've all already seen how the Magic stack up against teams with 1 super star player.

#1229427Post 192 of 236

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

Damn it Lebron, all you had to do was apologize and explain you were caught up in the moment being dejected and all would be easily forgiven. Nope, he had to go all offensive saying it doesn't make sense to shake hands.

Re: 2009 NBA Playoffs.

LA doesn't have an answer to Howard.. I see 20 board games for him with many blocks.
