Hey, hoping this doesn't run afoul of any board rules, but I've set up a pool for the NCAA Tournament -- it isn't [ms] exclusive, but everyone here is welcome to enter. Entry fee is $10 per bracket (payable online), enter as many times as you like. Details on scoring and payout is on the site, but the quick and dirty is that you'll get more points for correctly picking lower seeded teams to advance. NOTE THAT PICKS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 11:20 CDT ON THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2009 FOR YOUR PICKS TO COUNT.

I just graduated from 'Cuse last May and I couldn't be happier with their #3 seed and their amazing run in the Big East Tourney!! I have them taking the Championship in my bracket! Let's go 'Cuse!!!!

I've been a Syracuse fan for a while now.. pretty much since they lost that heart breaker to Indiana. Think they would have won the Big East tourney had they not took 6 OT's to get past UConn

i like syracuse too steve... i have a bunch of friends that went to school there that now live here. my buddy matt was on the practice squad when melo and the cuse won the nat'l championship several years baack. matt's a badass at bball too. i can only imagine how good the actual starters are if you had to play against them.

ps - i can't believe big east got 3 #1 seeds. i think thats kinda lame.

Yeah they were exhausted! But I am confident with out team this year... now that we've got Andy Rautins and Erik Devendorf back and Johnny Flynn who gained tons of experience playing with Donte last year... plus Kristof has turned into a key player!!

My sister also went to Syracuse and was a freshman the year that Melo led the team to their Championship win! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE 'Cuse basketball... I miss going to games at the Dome....

yes! i was so embarrassed when he made that shot and jumped on the table.. and then it didnt even count, lol

but him aside, I really enjoy watching them play. they've had their stars here and there and few NBA'ers, but they seem to ALWAYS give it their all, and Boeheim is a tremendous coach.. doesnt get a ton of respect, but defo deserves what respect he does get

Liked them too since I was young. My 90 yr old grandmother is an alumn. Nice church going women but a rabid cuse fan and Boheim lover. Still laugh when I go over and tube has Cuse B-Ball on.:lol:

Nah, I've only got three this year -- one of which is a throwaway with Mizzou winning it all, so I at least have a bracket that matches what I [B]want[/B] to happen. Had zero last year!

ya, don't feel great about them, but apart from the top 4, it's so wide open this year, I didn't know who else to go with. The top 4 are all very beatable, too, but seeds 5-65 are a total crapshoot IMO. That's a bit of an overstatement, but you get the idea...

the two OT games? that was great to watch. I love the Tournament, but the first weekend to me is so much fun to watch. I thought CBS did a great job getting back forth in those last two games. I mean, how do you plan for that? lol

there has been three 12 over 5 upsets! I really wish I'd filled out a bracket. Not saying I'd be doing very well, as I would have had FSU in the sweet 16, lol.. but it's fun to follow

Don't know the dude at the top, actually, must be a friend of a friend -- he had a great first round, though, for sure, and the way the scoring it set up, nailing those three games helped him out tremendously...

The number 2 guy also nailed those three games -- he was actually my law school roommate.

Still a long way to go, though...

Ahem, just wanted to point out that all the number 1's are still alive. OH, and all of the numbers 2's, too. Yeah, the number 3's are all still there as well.

and 5 of 7 Big East teams are still around.

Just sayin', is all... ;)

Of course, the bracket of mine where all 4 1's make the Final Four is already mathematically eliminated, so I'm not sure it much matters... :lol:

I'm brimming after that game last night! I knew it would be an exciting game, but I had no idea I'd see almost 200 points scored. To have Mizzou come out on top, though, takes it from being a good game to something I'll remember for a long, long time. Teams were averaging 57 points a game against Memphis' D, and Mizzou hung a hundy on 'em. That still blows me away.

I honestly can't believe it. Being a Mizzou fan means growing accustomed to losing big games in unusual, soul-crushing ways. Remember Tyus Edney's full-count run in 5 seconds back in 1995? That was against Mizzou. The football game where then #1 and eventual National Champion Colorado won the game on 5th down? That was against Mizzou. Oh, and let's not forget when then #1 Nebraska came back on a shoestring catch aided by a ball that was kept alive by a prayer of a kick in the endzone? Guess who the oppoent was. The list goes on and on.

Suffice it to say that when Memphis started making their run, I was very prepared for them to make some sort of miracle finish and win at the buzzer. Mizzou was able to hold them off, though.

UConn is playing great ball right now, but if we play the way we played against Memphis in the first half, I feel like we can play with them -- and if you hang with a team long enough, anything can happen...

i just hope your offense doesn't change dramatically because of thabeet. every offense uconn has gone up against has changed their format because of that guy and the way mizzou was driving on memphis will be a lot harder to do against uconn.
