Wow....

Announcers were saying last race that Hamilton and Hamilton Sr. are having doubts as to whether McLaren-Mercedes is a right fit for them.

Of course... noone was complaining when they won last year...

Maybe they should have doubts as to wether F1 is right for them, if you can't take the heat muthafuckas!

Diffuser hearing today. Will be very interesting to hear the result :?:
I think this hearing will be a bit of a waste of time - not only does the FIA, through its President Mosley, not think the teams have broken any rules, but also two sets of race stewards, Melbourne and Sepang, found nothing 'illegal' in the diffusers.

Additionally race speed and positions confirm that whilst Brawn are certainly way ahead of the field, both the Red Bulls and BMW's are quite close by - after all had Vettel and Kubica not clashed in Melbourne, two 'non-diffuser' teams would have been on the podium - with the possibility that Kubica actually might have passed Button - his tyres were out performing Buttons by a mile and was only a couple of seconds behind.

Lets ignore the fact that Ferrari and McLaren failed to get to grasp with these new rules - mainly due to fighting for the championship last year till the very last race, or lets ignore the fact that Red Bull has been out shone by its B team of Torro Rosso last year and so far this year, and whilst we're forgeting stuff, lets forget the BMW can clearly on the right stratagy fight with the Brawn, and whilst Williams have the diffuser they are still unable to convert good qualifying with high point finishes.

My point being there is far more to these cars, especially the Brawn and the Toyota, than the damn diffuser - me thinks last years big three should stfu and just improve their cars - after all they all have similar huge budgets to Toyota, who are having an excellent start to the season, mainly due to inspired strategy as opposed to the diffuser.

I hope the court thorows this out so that we can continue with the season.

Just my 2 cents worth. . . .

i agree.

but what if the court finds the appeals valid? i really doubt those three teams have ample time to redo their cars with new diffusers in 2-3 days for China, will they just not show up for that race?

#1199810Post 86 of 113

Re: 2009 Formula One

It very rare that the court goes against the stewards - however, if the do, they have a number of options open:-

 1. Demand that they change the diffuser - they will probably give them till the start of the European season for that.

 2. Demand that they change immediately - in which case they would be unable to race until they do.

If they find against the diffuser, they could also cancel out previous results, or more realistically, allow them - considering the cars were deemed legal by the stewards

Based on the arguments heard and evidence before it, the Court has concluded that the Stewards were correct to find that the cars in question comply with the applicable regulations.

Now lets hope Button can make it three for three!

I think it will make for a better season. Lets face it every year they try and manipulate the championship to make it more interesting. Its nice to see it turned on its head.

Funny aint it!

McLaren seem to have been dragged into this, after all they were not one of the complaining teams, now we know why!

Whats very telling is that since the court decision Ferrari and BMW have been bitching about how the decision is bad for the sport, how it ensures there is not an equal playing field yadda yadda yadda.

STFU IMHO and let the drivers do their jobs, no one, including drivers, likes a sore loser!

Good to see Jense on form today in practise.

Lets hope for another great Brawn weekend!

Re: 2009 Formula One

it was a great Brawn weekend finishing 3,4 just below the Red Bulls. Oh man what a good race. And all in the rain.

#1201801Post 95 of 113

Re: 2009 Formula One

not a bad race at all... glad it was able to finish like a normal race... eg not early or behind the SC.

we all knew red bull have a damn good car.. wonder what it will be like if they get a trick diffuser on that thing.

#1204827Post 96 of 113

Re: 2009 Formula One

Yeah the red car doesn't have a flash diffuser like brawns teams, so the red bull car is fast.

Great season so far

Yes, that's very interesting. Apart form the Red Bulls being lighting quick in the rain (seeing Webber do Hamilton on the outside of that corner  ) we didn't learn an awful lot this weekend. The next race in Bahrain will paint a few more pictures me thinks.

Hamilton has said it maybe four more races before Mclaren are competitive, new defuser an all

You can get the race here, not my links by the way.

Re: 2009 Formula One

Personally i think RB would be doing themselves a disservice to put a diffuser on their cars. Why mess with perfection.

#1207819Post 99 of 113

Re: 2009 Formula One

Button First in Bahrain this past weekend but Vettel is right on his ass. Button won pretty much on a superb tire/pit strategy... still puzzled on why they chose to do with Barrichello what they did on hte same... pitting with 9 laps left :( :(

#1215273Post 100 of 113

Re: 2009 Formula One

4 wins from 5 races for Button and another one two for Brawn. Another few wins and the championship might be sorted.

Whats going on with Ferrari though, Raikenen fails to make it out of Q1 and Massa has to slow down 2 laps before the end, losing two places, just so he can finish on the last drops of fuel he has left! They are in turmoil at the moment.

From the langauge Hamilton is using he is one very unhappy driver.
From the langauge Hamilton is using he is one very unhappy driver.
I imagine if I went from championship race wining team to being lapped by the bloke who was driving around at the back last year I would be an unhappy driver. To me it makes the season a million times better. I was never really a Button fan but I always felt Hamilton was cocky and smug. I would like to see him get lapped at every race. If they want to sort out the finances of the team's they should pay all the drivers the same salary because they aren't any better than each other. The only person you really have to beat is your team mate because you are both in the same vechicle.

Today Bernie said they are extremely close to an angreement between FOTA and the FIA. I really never thought they will split, theres too much at stake. And this drama is only hurting the sport :|

Yeah but it gets headlines.

Red bull are right on the button (sigh). Looks like its a battle between these two at the mo. Red Bull's upgrades seem to have done the job.

Re: 2009 Formula One

FIA is in shambles... they need a major reorganization imo... Mosley hates FOTA and Ecclestone praises Hitler for "getting things done"

F1 is slowely turning into NASCAR with all of these garbage rules and regulations... they need to go back to what it was... let teams do whatever they want to their cars and let the fastest win.

there very well could be a break away F1 next year...

Re: 2009 Formula One

To be very honest with you I wish I could get on the plane and go home right now. I don't want to talk to anybody in the team because I don't want to understand, there will be a lot of 'blah blah blah' and I don't want to hear that.

You go Rubens, blah blah blah, lol

Did anyone notice that the first 7 drivers on the grid for today's race are the 7 drivers with no drive for next year?
