anybody watch the 17 inning mayhem sunday night against the astros? i went to the game and left in the 10th inning... got home and continued to watch for another 1.5 hours! too bad the game lasted so long. they had to put 3 players on the DL and everyone else is super-exhausted since they had to hop on a plane and fly out to la right after the game. :( braves have had an awful time with injuries this season.

went to a rays game last week against the red sox. awesome game. the rays are for real this season. i wore my mets cap and rays kazmir shirt,lol.

It's kind of funny how Kazmir still has a ridiculous amount of strikeouts consider he only goes to the 7th inning max and he was out for the entire month of April. I'd say he deserves to be in the All-Star Game. He's the best pitcher on the first place team.

last season yes, but at this point and time and for the past few weeks I dont even really think he is the best pitcher on that team tbh.. he does have a lot of strike outs, but then he also has a lot of pointless walks and hits after going up 0-2 on hitters.. I think he is putting too much pressure on himself, and doesnt trust all of his pitches.. but to have your supposed ace under acheiving and still be in first isnt a bad thing, I just hope he sorts it out

^^^got to agree wiht you on kaz...we are lucky if he makes it through 5 innings...he needs to turn it around and pitch like an ace. Maybe the contract extension they gave him is gettin in his head like it did to Pena
beleive it or not but our 4th or 5th pitcher Sonnastine is leading the team in wins....and he is rarely mentioned as one of our good pitchers.
i hope they can win today....3 straight losses would be rough.

this is arguably my favorite season since the 117 win yanks season and donnie's first playoff year.
baseball is upside down, the cubs are in charge, the rays are kicking the shit out of everything, torre is in LA, pinella in shi town, and the cards yet again pull pitching out of mr. duncan's ass.
best season in a long time. every team had MAJOR questions, and every division is still up for grabs. and 2nd base is back for power and hitting. all these young guns are making it great again. lincicum, kazmir, chamberlain, volquez, beckett..... liriano is due back soon. i have literally watched more baseball than ever and im loving every minute.

actually this kid Longoria is as much of a stud as Kazmir... He makes plays at third base that are out of this world. ALso leade the rays in homers and rbis....and he a rookie.

I'm enjoying watching the Rays success yeah, but as far as a baseball fan, not so much that I can just watch any teams play, whereas football (english and american) I can watch most teams/clubs
though there is one specific parallel I see between baseball and soccer.. some of the low scoring games are the most fun to watch.. a 1-0 or 1-1 pitchers duel is almost as intriguing as a 0-0, 1-0 technically brilliant football match

they can if their pitching settles down and they get another bat in the line up.. their right field is a shambles, youve either got a liability at the plate or in the field or both.. a couple of tweaks and they'll be fine.
I still feel Kazmir is way under performing, and really needs to learn to trust his team behind him and not try to strike out every one.
it's only 4 in a row, the sox and the yankess have had streaks just as bad. now if they get swept by the indians, then there is a problem, lol
but really though, the over/under in the beginning of the season was what 70 wins? they are 15 way from that. and only 25 away from being .500, which no one gave them a chance for that either
so.. if they dont win the division, or dont win the wild card and finish with around 90 wins, is that a failed season? I personally dont think so, i mean it will be disappointing but they are a very very young team, with a ton of up side

^^ steroids and be-glamored reputation are the main reason why i am kinda over pro sports nowadays. everyone is juicing these days too.
I used to follow baseball hardcore back in the 90s, when i used to play ball too, but now.. the game is a cluster-fuck joke to a certain extent.

Wow what can I say this has been some of the best baseball in years. It seems as though anyone in the divisions have a shot of winning it. I'm very surprised how the Rays did the first half of the season. No one saw that coming. The Red Sox have been hurting literally. Little Dusty Pedoria has been fun to watch as well as Jacoby Ellsbury. So glad the Red Sox Brass didn't trade him away for Santana. Even Dice-K has had a solid first half at 9 or is it 10 and 1.a side from the injury. Hopefully he can keep it up during the second half of the season. Lets not forget about the yankees. They have hung in there as well despite all their injuries. Should be a great second half of the season. Now only If Baltimore and Toronto would get their heads out of their arses would have a really good dog fight. Hey 3 out of 6 ain't too bad.

Man this is going to be an awesome second half of the baseball season for the teams in the AL East! Come on Red Sox!! You guys are worrying me. We need to start hitting and get that offense who we all know is capable of putting up large numbers.
