That ManU - Barca tie will be the final for me... I don´t think I´ll even feel motivated to watch the actual final after those two games.

It got to the point where they can actually afford the luxury of having Neville make his comeback after 1 year, in a CL game.

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

liverpools name is on the cup, they can rest players in the next few weeks while united & chelsea still have to fight it out for the premiership..

#1000078Post 45 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

^^^ fight for the Prem? lol.. come on, thats about wrapped up.

i agree with Kinetic, if man u get past barca, the final will be just another premiership match.. hard to get excited over a replay of a match you already see twice in a season

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

Barca's defence looks all over the shop .. plus Puyol is out, Messi & Ronaldinho injured. They will need to be a real attacking force and get the best out of Eto'o, Deco and Henry to get through.

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

man barca own the game they deserve to win, what a shame zero goals in this first game, man of the game "C. Ronaldo" thanks man!....that penalty miss!! thanks...

overall barca had the game from start to end....65% of ball possession ! damn!...all manchester defending thats new...

guess the next game they will attack like hell!....rafa made a good game marking C. Ronaldo some faults but well you need to make that to make C. ronaldo still and no all over the place...rite?

question: ¿what happend with ronaldhino? is he injured or is he punished or something?.....

#1010130Post 48 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

Ronaldhino is injured and out for the season. He has possibly played his last game for Barca too, as I believe he is on the verge of joining AC Milan.

But about last nights game, you can see that Barca are by far the superior team of the two. Messi made Ronaldo a half decent player :). I think alot of people and pundits where eating their words last night. Prior to the game it was all, 'yeah, Utd are the best etc' But yeah, they are brilliant up against the shoddy defenses that are in England.

I think Barca will def score at Old Trafford, esp since Utd will come out of their shell, which will leave hole in the Utd defense.

What a game Toure had, thought he was brilliant, and Iniesta, he'll be one of the best around I think. He completely controlled the midfield - class act.

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

a far superior team that held the ball for 65 minutes and couldnt score? LMAO They had to bring Henry on the last 15 minutes and he had the best two chances of the match

Barca missed their opportunity to advance, they will come no where near the amount of possession at OT

yup agree with you there

united are a different animal at ot

#1010166Post 51 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

also, i thought a few barca players were actually being disciplined and not injured, donkey boy being one of them?

if they played possession yesterday just to avoid giving up an away goal, thats got to be one of the more idiotic game plans ever, not to mention the level of arrogance.. I'd give anything to see them get hammered like the Roma match last CL

give it a try when you got like 10 defenses, the only one who was offensive was C. Ronaldo even rooney and tevez were at the back of the midfield....it aint that easy.....

and yeah i heard that to that some players are being disciplined and not injured like ronaldhino hear that hes partrying and all....

also isnt suppouse that ronaldhino contract is till 2010?, can they sell it before that?........

In Messi We Trust......iniesta gave a fucking brilliant game, that pass to eto damn....

#1010322Post 53 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

contracts in football are a joke, of course they can sell before that, it happens every season

and you really dont have to keep putting the "C" before ronaldo, lol.. the other fat bastard hasnt been relevant in years
and you really dont have to keep putting the "C" before ronaldo, lol.. the other fat bastard hasnt been relevant in years

I had to pinch myself a few times there to realize how far back ronaldo, rooney and tevez were playing...never seen so much defending from them ever. Hell, until that match I was thoroughly convinced that ronaldo (that's C. to you Digger ;) ) had no idea what the hell defending was. And as for Tevez, how much ground did he manage to cover in that match? He seemed to be everywhere and unfortunately nowhere near the goal all at once.

Looking forward to the return leg...should be a good one :Bingo:

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

:Scared2:

yeah....barca had troubles i admit that, the defense was all confused and nervous manchester play their cards well, but you have to admit that they didnt do that much to deserve won the game.....the closest to a goal was a center to nani....

i admit that the goal of schooles was impresive but well.....

Rijkaard needs to do a couple of changes on the team...seems that zambrota dinho gio are gone......

:(

#1011786Post 63 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

i admit neither team was overly impressive, but man u's make shift defense had answers for barca the whole match.. playing without vidic and rooney at least makes up for barca being with out donkey boy.. scholes goal was brilliant and well deserved. they scored a goal and barca didnt, therefore they deseved to win.. come on mate stop whining, there is always next season

#1011812Post 64 of 117

big upto manure showing barca how to actually create decent chances

i actually hope the red shites do chelski tonight

#1011924Post 66 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

im not too bothered wither way, but if i had to choose would prefer to see the scousers go thru.

was just great to see scholes latch onto that shot and rip it past the barca defence and keeper. he has always been a class player and well deserves his shot at playing in a UCL final after missing out in '99

#1012484Post 76 of 117

Re: UEFA Champions League /Europe/

True Liverpool have spent some money ... but get real.

It's nothing compared to Man U and Chelski - look at the actual combined cost of each teams 1st squad of 16 (incl. 5 on the bench). Remember Rio cost £30m, Hargeaves & Rooney £24m each, Carrick/Nani/Anderson £18m each. They spent £50m in 3-days last summer and that's after winning the league !

Chelsea have spent £300m and written off Veron/Crespo (loaned until their contracts expire) and soon Scheva (£30m).

Liverpool had the net spend of Fulham in the summer after sales. Torres was £21m in instalments (+ Garcia) and the press thought we'd bought a dud (idiots clearly didn't remember how he lit up the world cup 2 years back). We also bought 2 young players but had no money to significantly invest in the 1st Team at the same time, and have been seeking free transfers under Bosmans.

Comparitively speaking Spurs have probably spent more and look at their premiership season.
