Re: Nfl 2007
Just have to get through Randy Moss and the Patriots
Re: Nfl 2007
i bet the media already has their favorites picked out... i love how they always talk about "who's the best team" after the first week.

I'm not a Pats fan but they sure looked like they will give Indy a run for their money this year. Actually I'm kind of pulling for Brady to win it this year only because I know the Bucs SUCK and will be lucky to win 5 games this year. I hope they fire Bruce Allen and John Gruden. People can say what they want about Gruden but to me the way he handled Simeon Rice this preseason was just bull shit. I don't like him and I think he is not that good of an offensive guro like some say. Hell I think I can play call better than him at times.
Re: Nfl 2007
^ no joke! gruden is a superbowl champion because tony dungee is a great coach........ i'm surprised he has lasted this long.
Re: Nfl 2007
and..... there may be a reason why the patriots looked so good:

if it is true, that's fucked up.

If you're going to do this, at least try to be discreet!
Honestly, I see this as being no different than a guy on 2nd stealing signs or ARod yelling "mine" - Cheating? Yes, technically. Bush league? Maybe a little. But the root cause for the Pats beating the piss out of the Jets or winning three trophies? Hardly.
How well did this tactic work out when we got smoked by the them last year? Or in the 2nd half of the AFCC when the Colts totally shut us down? Much ado about nothing - but people love to see the big guns get knocked down, and the pats are one of the biggest.

Re: Nfl 2007
true, its all about execution but it definitely helps when you know exactly what your opponent is going to do. i believe 200% more so in football than baseball. having said that, i like the pats better than the jets anyhow, so haha @ the jets. :D
ps - that picture is hilarious... very blatant.
Re: Nfl 2007
first sad story from the NFL
Everett from the Buffalo Bills busted up his spinal cord and will never walk again..
Re: Nfl 2007
we can thank the nfl for that. had they decided not to move the kickoff line back, this may not have happened. very sad, indeed.

ugh. Just read this story on it. I get a really sick feeling just reading that -- definitely puts it into some perspective.
Best of luck to Everett and best hopes for a recovery of some sort...

Re: Nfl 2007
much, much better news re Everett:
The doctor who performed the spinal surgery on Everett told Buffalo TV station WIVB on Tuesday that Everett has voluntary movement of his arms and legs and as a result he is optimistic that Everett will walk again.
...
"It's totally spectacular, totally unexpected," Green said.
Don't put the blame on others. You sound like a typical parent. "So what if my kid used the knife. He wasn't the one that bought it." :roflmao:
Re: Nfl 2007
your comparison isn't even close to relating to this. sure he shouldn't have tackled like that. being able to accelerate even faster on a kickoff doesn't help lessen the impact when someone does tackle incorrectly, does it? the nfl should take steps to protect players, not put them in jeopardy.

Read that again. "tackle incorrectly". That's exactly it. You can't blame the league because the guy fucked up. I'm not saying that this was a good thing but there's a thing called responsibility. Don't blame the league because that dude messed up. That's exactly what I said before and you still probably have a hard time understanding that. Move out of Atlanta and you won't be so ignorant.
Re: Nfl 2007
the rule probably wouldn't have stopped his injury, but it may not have been as severe dude. shouldn't have kept his head down, agreed, but when you get caught in the moment or forced into a position sometimes people do things they shouldn't... it is called instinct. so the nfl should take those things into consideration. when you give someone a chance to hit someone else harder like a kickoff, that is where the league needs to step in and say "there is greater chance for serious injury here, incorrect tackling or correct tackling." they need to take steps to prevent the chance for someone to get injured.
Re: Nfl 2007
People don't have instinct. You're thinking of animals. Try again. You need to remember something, these are adults. If they screw up, they should suffer the consequences. This isn't child's play.
Re: Nfl 2007
ah, ok. i'll stop wasting my breath :D
Re: Nfl 2007
It's okay. You need to "live" somehow. :p
Re: Nfl 2007
"I don't care if you're playing junior high, high school, college, pro, there's a risk that's involved with football and you just cringe when something like that happens to anybody at any level," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said.
In any event, glad to see he may be better then expected.
In the meantime, love the shootout today between Cincy & Cleveland. Started Carson & Housh on my fantasy team which should give me the win this week :D
Re: Nfl 2007
I must say as I sit here and watch the Pats/Chargers game that...damn! I just don't see anyone coming close to matching the Pats on their schedule except for maybe the Colts. I hate the Patriots but they are really looking good at the moment.
Re: Nfl 2007
It's not fair to judge by the game this weekend. I mean, The Chargers are still trying to petition to join the NFL. :roflmao:
Re: Nfl 2007
The Lions are 2-0!!!
Re: Nfl 2007

Re: Nfl 2007

Re: Nfl 2007
I'm expecting the Lions to get ass raped by the bears tom.. To bad 2-0 will be the highlight of the season..
