I think this kinda cuts both ways. Yes, the Tigers will be more rested, but these guys are used to playing almost every day -- take a break like this, and you've got to get back into that mindset. Primary benefit is being able to use whatever pitching rotation you please without having to worry about rest...

I suspect it's probably a wash.

just talking in the abstract here. Leyland's skills speak for themselves. I was just watching his press conference from when he was hired about a year ago yesterday. reminded me of Admiral Stockdale from the '92 debates -- amazing what he's done with that team since then...
