Re: 2nd half of baseball.
i'm more interested in seeing the braves beat the cardinals 15-3 again :p
looks like it's on the way... :( 10 runs on 12 hits, and it's only the 5th.
btw, watch your step tomorrow on your way out the door.

Re: 2nd half of baseball.
13-1... but you probably already knew that
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
haha, yes, still watching. :(
jim edmonds has a nice swing. too bad he so streaky. he does have that effortless griffey jr type cut at the ball tho.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
the yanks game is insane. ponson actually pitched fabulous. one mistake in the first inning and a error. = 3 run homer, then he retired 5 in a row, while striking the side in the 3rd. he let up a run again in the 7th with 2 outs. more of a feilding position problem. it could have been caught with infeild at 0-1 out position. then the yanks came back in the 9th with some clutch hits from the bottom of the order, and some heads up runnign. crowd went batshit for ponson BTW, and he was all teary eyed like my sister. then the heavens opened inthe 9th. and they play through...... untill...... with the game tied and a runner at second and a 3-1 count to guess who........ you know it............everyone does............. AROD.... the umpires called out the tarp...... with 3-1 and 2 out with a runner in scoring position with the best player of the last decade at bat........... the stadium was going crazy. jeter on deck too.
so essentially im waiting an hour for one pitch either way.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
We sure know how to lose a game. We don't just lose by 3-4, we lose by double digits.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
yeah, oh well. some games are like that. carpenter's pitching tomorrow against a rookie... i'd put my money on the cards. i can't believe my prediction of 15-3 was so close :D
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
now we'll see if my prediction comes true tomorrow. :p
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
walking with extra caution today Garrick?
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
so far, so good.. it'll happen when i least expect it.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
.... and now here come the twinkies.... only 3 games back of chisox after tonights win. detroit keeps winning, sox keep losing and now minnesota is going to make it really interesting down the stretch with the yanks, sox, twins, boston and toronto all trying to squeeze into 2 playoff spots. (i'm just giving the division to detroit because right now they deserve it the way they're playing and the east is a cluster fuck toss up... edge right now to boston)
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
detroit continues to surprise me. i keep waiting for them to fall off the wagon.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
me too. yanks shit the bed again up in canada. bosox gain a game in the elad.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
Yanks shit the bed in T.O...:D
BoSox gain a game...:x
Sorry Sightless, Blue Jays fan all the way!! As well as the Maple Leafs and the Raps;)
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
don't apologize to him, that only encourages him. stand up for your team! your team, the one that beat the yankees 3 out of 4 times. that is.... 75% of the time. :p
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
... the one that beat the yankees 3 out of 4 times. that is.... 75% of the time. :p
You faggot. This is baseball talk. It's .750 you fuckwad. :p
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
the AL central is getting extremely exciting. the AL wildcard race is off the charts.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
2nd half for me so far SUCKS ASS!
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
^ ^ Losing 11 out of the last 12 is quite pitiful isn't it? Bastards.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
It sure is. I went to the last 2 games of the Cards series and found myself routin' for them on Sunday in full Blue uniform
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
braves with another win. 7-2 on their road trip.... best since '93. here they come.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
we won too. woo hoo. great outing by the unit, and melky almost hit the cycle and jumped to 4th of all rookie batting averages. jeter got hurt though..... we'll see. arod went 2-4 with 2 RBIS and 2 runs scored. so if you know whats happening to him in NY, you'll understand why that was big. fuck boston.

Re: 2nd half of baseball.
i saw milkman and jeter's back to back triples... that was pretty sweet. too bad the ranger's left fielder SUCKS!
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
..I knew the Twins were playing good but the fact that they're 32-8 their last 40 games is insane... and what's more insane is that before they went on this run they were 11.5 games behind the Tigers and 11 games behind the Chisox but they've only managed to pick up only 2 games on Detroit.. TWO! (But 9 games on the Sox who are in one hell of a slump right now). And then Detroit goes and scores 5 runs or more in the first inning of the last three games which hadn't been done since 1891. I really haven't been this excited about baseball the last 10 years it seems. (of course it helps the Reds are in the running for the playoffs)

Re: 2nd half of baseball.
the tigers are playing solid baseball right now..its gonna be hard to beat them in a 7 game format with the pitching they have.. adding Casey's left handed bat and strong glove was another smart move for the playoff run.. and Zumaya throwing at 104mph is ridiculous..
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
yanks have won 20 of 27 since the all star break...
yeah. and sadly, i will admit, our so called number 1 pitcher might be worst.
fuck boston.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
fuck boston ;)
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
anyone been watching the yanks or at least sportscenter on a daily basis?
jeez, bobby abreu has been sick as our 3rd hitter. dude is 7/7 in stolen bases too.
but we have a running joke here in NY, what happens if the yanks and mets make it to the world series. and go 7. and bottom of the 9th, 2 out, bases juiced, and you have billy wagner vs arod. its the worst nightmare for both teams. wagner shits the bed weekly. and arod cant hit a bloop if you had a gun to his wife's head.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
the running joke should be their payroll
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
stop whining and go to more games. its only the fans fault when they dont show up. we, along with boston, have sold out every game for years. and steinbrenner doesnt pocket it like the guy in KC or tampa. he pays himself 1 dollar a year. im so sick of ppl crying about it. do something about it and get your team some money, buy a shirt or hat, go to the game, buy a hotdog. the arguement is so stupid and born out of jealousy that the yanks, outside of boston, have the nuttiest fans. 55 thousand everyday and you can pay somone 11 mill a year. the only 2 contracts on the team that are ubsurd are jeter and arod. jeter earned his by winning 4 rings. arod got lucky. they both got lucky by signing in that post ryan sandberg era of 20 mill a year contracts. manny had one on cleveland, arod got his, jeter, magwire had his, etc.... all the guys who signed from 92-97 got monstrously inflated contracts because of all those insane shortstops that came up together.. (jeter, arod, nomar, tejada)
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
stop whining and go to more games. its only the fans fault when they dont show up.
In some places that might be true, but here in St. Louis, we've sold out every game for years and will continue to sell out every game for years, and our payroll isn't on the same page with the Yanks and never will be. The Yankees can afford to pay people absurd sums of money because they have a massive market, a huge fan base, and a great television contract, not because they have fans that go to games.
There's nothing wrong with any of that, and more power to them, but selling out a stadium consistently is just one piece of the puzzle.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
then your fanbase has a serious issue with your owner. ask him where the revenues are going
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
thanks to the fans, the yanks will be one of only about 5 teams in the history of the MLB to completely finance thier own stadium. the only thing NYC and NYS are doing for them is putting up an xtra elevated section of train tracks and the paving below it.
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
shit.fuck.wow......... ross and the redlegs pull one from their proverbial asses in the bottom of the ninth to beat the cards. just got home from bedlam at great american. that kinda game makes the pain of 6+ dollar shit beers, the voucher for the dave concepcion bobblehead (they didn't have enough) and parking 15 blocks uphill away all worth while...
Re: 2nd half of baseball.
OH YEAH, james, you havent sold out for years. i looked it up..
cleveland indians have the record from the that team in the 90's. followed by the current red sox run, then the yanks,. then you, then chi town sox.
