why the hell didn't the Dolphins fight for Brees and take Culpepper? Damn. Dolphins are headed for another f'cked season this year.

Any football fans here? what do you think with the pick up?

Re: Football Fans - WTF

don't know... could still be a question about his shoulder or just how sabin feels he would fit in his system. in any case you've still improved your qb position.

JETS - Suck Suck Suck

fine, since you are a Jets fan, do you think the fins made a good choice?

Re: Football Fans - WTF

jets -- try the lions.. John Kitna?? WTF!

its like they don't want to win..

culpepper might work out pretty good for the fins.. its a coin toss with culpeps. you never know which one your gonna get. the allstar or the scrub.

Re: Football Fans - WTF

actually its a good thing for the jets, you jets fans should be happy. now you guys have a shot at liehnert, since new orleans doesnt need a qb now, but that is if only you guys make a move to get the second pick.

honestly though, who else could they of signed? nobody wants to play for the lions. detroit is one of those teams that have to overpay for everyone.

my lions question is : why do they continue to go after top tier WR's instead of getting a guy or two who can play defense?

Re: Football Fans - WTF

^^^ Barry Sanders was the only good thing about the Lions, but they still need a good coach and GM. Someone is bound to turn them around.

Look at Edgrin James leaving a super bowl contending team and goes to Arizona. WTF. Some shitty teams can get good players.

Re: Football Fans - WTF

millen is a cancer, i agree. but that franchise is miserable. new orleans is another example of a team that can sign a big name. but last year i didnt see any other teams fans marching in protest of the teams front office. they really are one of the worst orginizations in all of sports. however, the real problem is WIlliam Clay Ford. As long as he continues to own the team, bet against the lions.

Re: Football Fans - WTF

Fellow Lions Fan Here. To answer the other question about bringing in top receivers, I think they wanted to surround Harrington with talent becuase there was still some hope of him being good. But now there's no excuse for his total suckage. Welcome to Arena Football.

I don't understand why the lions didn't make some sort of move to try and get a shot at drafting Lienhart (sp?) or Jay Cutler instead of singing the backup that is Kitna. Do they still think Harrington might be the go to guy?

best moment in free agency for me was when bart scott accepted the ravens offer while INSIDE of the browns complex.

Re: Football Fans - WTF

i am a saints fan and although i am more than happy to see them get brees, i would have liked to have seen them get leinart in the draft to see what he could have done instead. i like this move by the saints, but although brees has had two outstanding years, i'm still not convinced he is the best choice the saints could have made. at least now they can open themselves up in the draft for a tackle or a linebacker. AJ Hawk sure would be nice to have in a saints uniform.

As much as I hate to mention this as long as my home team has Peyton we aren't really a super bowl team or really a playoff team for that matter.

is that how all of the fans feel there? I watched Marino for ages and every year I thought he would take us. Peyton might be in the same shoes as Marino however, I would love to have him playing for the Dolphins

That shitty team just became pretty damn good imo. You add E James to an offense that already had one of the best receivers in football (Larry Fitzgerald) and A Boldin and they can now play with most of the teams in the NFL. Defense still needs some work but I hear they are trying to sign Arrington If Cincy doesn't.

i agree with this compltely. the saints arnt 1 or 2 players away from a contending team. despite the addition of brees, there record wont change much from last year. so why not give this time to devolop one of the top tier draft day qbs? also an oppurtunity to pick up a cornerstone lineback (aj hawk) or a cornerstone lineman which are ALWAYS available in the first round every draft.

mel kiper jr singing off.

I'm not sure about all Indy fans around here... Just noticing between my friends, who I have watched football with religiously for most of them over 15 years, that we are talking more about other teams. After last years disappointment, I think a lot of people don't want to have there dreams crushed again by not making it to the super bowl. Last year was really if there is such a thing, "our year".

This year, i'm going with Cincy!

Re: AMERICAN Football Fans - WTF

I have been watching the Colts since I was 8 years old. That is when they moved here from Baltimore. I am 30 now... yes unfortnantly I'm 30, that is 22 seasons of ups and downs. I have put in my time!

I will still go to the games and pay attention to them. I'm just not going to only watch them from now on. I am going to be more open to watching other organizations preform well.

Peyton Manning is no Dan Marino IMO also ;)

Re: AMERICAN Football Fans - WTF

You think thats bad try being a Pats fan right about now watching the dynasty fall apart.willie mcginest signs with the browns.david givens signs with the titans.mat chatham signs with the jets. mr mvp adam vinateri is meeting with the packers on friday.and to top it all off offesinve lineman tom ashworth has to decide amongst tampa, miami or the jets as to whom he'll play for next season.Oh dear lord I hope the Pats have something up their sleeves.

Re: AMERICAN Football Fans - WTF

1st off to the Pats fan (Buckman), WTF? you just got 3 superbowls....

To B, Marino was the shit. As for 22yrs of ups and downs, boo fuckn hoo. Dolphins haven't done shit since 73 - 74. even with over 30yrs of dissapointments, I am still going to go for them. A true fan sticks by the team. Miami fans are the worse in the counrty. The Dolphins could be 15 and 1 and the fans will focus on the one lose versus the 15 wins. I am planning to move to NC soon, and will try to get season tickets for Carolina, but I am still going to wear my Dolphin Jersey. And most liekly get my ass kicked.

you know if the colts won it, you would be right there with them celebrating. ;)

You are correct, but it won't have anything to do with Peyton Manning.

Peyton reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite when he comes off the field after making a mistake. The one thing that I can't wait for is the new stadium we are building. Finally no more dome, even though it is still indoors mainly.
You think thats bad try being a Pats fan right about now watching the dynasty fall apart.
Did you honestly think it would last forever???

Boo Hoo! I wouldn't be crying like a little school girl right now if we had one title in the last 20 years.

#586918Post 32 of 34

Re: AMERICAN Football Fans - WTF

shit i wish we (the lions) could win more then one playoff game in our history.. a title would be great.

#586925Post 33 of 34

Re: AMERICAN Football Fans - WTF

I'm not cryin about it at all.I just think it sucks watching all these players walk away without any effort from the Pats trying to resign them.3 superbowls isnt enough. It doesnt make up for the 80's and 90's when the pats were shit.I guess im greedy and want more
