Now the REAL games start, and they're some pretty good matchups alright.

VS Broncos are undefeated at home and tore up the Pats earlier in the year - but the Pats are a much better team than they were in October. Also, Belichek is something like 6-1 when facing a team for the second time in a season after losing to them in the first game - call me a homer but I like our chances 27 - 24 New England

VS I'm not buying the idea that the Colts are too rested, or too upset about what happened to Dungey's son. It will be a slugfest but I see Peyton throwing for one, Edge running for one and the D returning one. This will also set up the greatest AFC Championship game in ages. 21 - 10 Indy

VS

Dr. Sully's upset pick of the week. Chicago took it to the Panthers earlier in the season but I see Steve Smith, and not Deshaun Foster, having a big day - 100+ yds and a touch. 17 - 7 Carolina

VS

Seattle is going to roll in this one. 'Skins D was on fire last week but the Seahawks have a much much MUCH bigger home field advantage than the Bucs. The crowd will be loud, Alexander scores twice, the defense shuts down Portis and buries Brunell into the ground. 21 - 3 Seattle

And i just booked my flight/hotel in Denver for Saturday, seats in section 201. Any fellow [ms]'ers and Bronco fans here going to the game up for some tailgating?

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Being an AFC guy this weekends games are going to be off the hook... Pats/Broncos by far the best game on the ticket.... Now that the Bengals are out I can sit and enjoy the games without getting over excited. Would have loved to see Cincy with a healthy Carson Palmer play Denver.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Better enjoy the Seahawks success... Our local boy Alexander won't be there next year unless there's some kind of miracle change of heart. Should be the Seahawks and Colts in the Super Bowl but both the Broncos and Pats are awfully, awfully good... Going to be a good weekend.

He has a lot of resentment towards management about last year.... you know, 1 yard short of the NFL rushing title (he got pulled early in the second half of the last game), their unwillingness to discuss long term deal or new contract etc... That, and after this season they would have to pay him a ridiculous amount of money for him to stay. He holds all the chips in the game and word is he wants out.
COLTS ARE GOING TO TAKE IT ALL!!!! I have been watching the colts here at home since they arrived in '85... This year is ours!
arnt you mad they didnt change the name/jerseys/records/traditions from the old baltimore colts? it is for that reason alone why they will never win a superbowl. And it wasn't 85, it was '84. March of '84. i hate how the colts market the players of the past who were in baltimore and act like they had anything to do with indy. i'm suprised they dont call the rca dome memorial staduim.

pats over broncos - the patriots are going to win it all again this year and shannahan is overrated. indy over pitt - pittsburg's style of play is too slow for the turf of the rca dome. panthers over bears - the panthers are rolling after that beating they gave to the giants, and the bears don't have an offense that cna generate anything agaisnt the panthers d. washington over seattle - how many times have i picked seattle in big games and gotten burned? well they need to win a meaninful game ONE TIME, before i can pick them again.

the real superbowl will be the afc champsionship game between the pats and indy.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

^^^ That's right it was '84... wow how time flies when you are losing!

GO HORSE - That was last years saying and probably why we didn't win last year... Between the Indianapolis Pacers and the Colts I have been pulling my hair out waiting for a championship and each year I have been disappointed. This is the year - and I could careless if they win the superbowl without having to play the pats. I just want a title and that is it!

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

right on. if my team was in the playoffs this year (which they are not 3rd place afc north) i would be praying they dont play the pats this year. this will be the year where bellicheck (sp?) becomes immmortalized.

Add Tom Brady to that list if it shakes out.. You can put in a game plan and draw up the plays but someone has to execute them.

i would dare to say that 3 titles in 4 years pretty much has immortalized them already :P

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

but winning another after losing both coordinators and a few vets while your star RB has been out for half the season and they were pulling guys off the streets of boston to play in there secondary i think just puts it over the top.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Bears over panthers..... Gutsy. It could be just me but I think the Bears are the single most overrated team in the playoffs.... If they had even a modicum of offense I might consider them... Great defense but man... It's the playoffs against a team that was in the Super Bowl two years ago...

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

I want to see New England play Indy at Indy. That would be the best AFC matchup imo. Regardless who wins, both AFC games this weekend look really good. Hopefully the weather will be cold and snowing in Denver this weekend.

As for the NFC, Carolina looked damn good against the NY Giants. The Bears are good, but they can't seem to score that many points. I'll agree with most that it's all about Seattle in the NFC.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

the pats scondary is still weak they only have a good front line. The broncos will beat them deep just like last time. and they have 2 good running backs that the pats have to stop. will be a close game but the game is at mile high and the broncos are hard to beat at home. but i say broncos will win by 3.

as for the rest, the panthers, seahawks, and colts

An update on Carson... He had surgery and there's a possibility he could be back by the start of the regular season next year... There's also a chance he could miss all of next season as well.... This wouldn't concern me if we had Tom Brady as a backup QB and not Kitna.. who will probably be gone anyway. Thank God hockey's back.... Go Leafs Go!

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Im really looking forward to todays game of Bears vs Panthers. should be a really good one.

I dont have a particular team as I'm not that into football. But my friend has been a Bears fan since he was like 10 yrs old. Why? I dont know, he's been on the west coast all his life. :what

but anyway GO Bears!

Steelers won.. great game by Roethlisberger. can't believe he is only in his second year. what poise.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Hell yea I hate the Colts. Im sooooo glad that peyton lost. That was a bullshit call when they overturned the interception by pit.

#544239Post 34 of 59

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

That fourth quarter was absolutely nuts... I'm glad the Steelers won because that overturned interception call was an absolute joke.... I mean JOKE.
Steelers won.. great game by Roethlisberger. can't believe he is only in his second year. what poise.
I have to give Cowher lots of credit here, their game plan was excellent-- it totally caught Indy by surprise throwing all thse short passes up the middle to the TE instead of running running running which helped them get the early lead. Then they followed San Diego's lead of blitzing the hell out of Payton to keep him from establishing the passing game.

Thrilling conclusion, but Pittsburg definitely deserved the win. Respect.

Good thing I didn't put any money on these games as I've been wrong at every turn. Glad about that though, FUCK the Pats and Payton.

Great game today. Pittsburgh is going off right now. Can't wait to see next weeks game.

#544245Post 37 of 59

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

Damn Pats & Damn Refs. The NFL needs to allow stickem sprayed on the players gloves. The Pats could've used it last night.3 fumbles recovered by the Broncos.oi and that 39 yard penatly against Asanti Samuel was complete Bunk.Oh and the fumble at the goal line by the Broncos should have went down Pats ball at the 20.I can sit her and make all the excuses I want.Bottom line is the Broncos were the better team last night.Say what you will about the Pats.3 superbowl rings 2 back 2 back.Dynasty accomplished. They'll just have to restart it ll again next season.

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

good thing steelers held them in the 4th......the colts didn't deserve to win atleast they had a good year

#544454Post 39 of 59

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

i havent seen any team get that kind of pressure on peyton manning in years. what a great defensive scheme by pitt to completly take Indy out of there rythym and make them slow there game down on that turf.

#544466Post 40 of 59

Re: NFL Playoffs - Round 2

WOW! I had a great day going yesterday until kick off!! Oh well yet another year to come to disappointment! They certainly didn't deserve to win so congrats to the steelers!

I am certainly glad though that the Pats lost also. They looked like crap as well! Plus the Broncos are a much better team then they were the last 2 years.

So I'm going to stick with the Horses and GO BRONCOS!!!!!

:D
