Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

AFC and NFC Championship games

Bears vs Seahawks, Bears win Colts vs Broncos, Colts win

Colts vs Bears - Colts win

I hope I'm wrong, I'd like to see my Broncos there again :D
The game between the Seahawks and the Colts will most likely be a shitty game. It means nothing to either team win or lose.
maybe the teams collectively don't have a lot to play for, but some of the players do.

I expect Sean Alexander to score twice, leaving him 1 away from the record with 1 game to play.

Colts vs. Seahawks...

Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

if the colts lose these next 2 games and backpeddle into the playoffs, they wont make it to the superbowl. Manning's knee is bothering him and Harrison has a broken bone in his hand, as well as some defensive players like corey simon banged up. That might be costly with the patriots getting everyone back fresh and healthy...

Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

Its doubtful Indy's starters will play the full 60 minutes on Sunday and their last game is against AZ, so you have to figure they won't even bother with that one.

If I were a Colt fan I would be worried about two things:

1 - If Seattle has their way with Indy's starters, that's a cause for concern. The Big 3 and most of the D will sit out against the Cards and the 1st round will give them time to rest, but that also means they will have gone 4 weeks (2 against SD/Sea and 2 on the bench) without a solid performance by the big guns.

2 - If New England blows the doors off in the first round like they have the past few weeks, watch the fuck out. All signs are pointing to Jacksonville in the Wild Card round - that means they have a real possibility of keeping an opposing offense under 100 yds runshing/200 yds passing 6 games in a row. Granted I'm a homer but you gotta admit, the Pats are putting it together just at the right time.

All that being said Indy will still be favored going into that game, and rightfully so. But they better beat the snot out of the Pats because whoever goes to the AFCC will most likely go against Denver. With all of football talking about New England and Indy, those guys have sleeper written all over them. Shannahan's history in the playoffs since the Elway Era is nothing to talk about, but the Broncos are looking pretty nasty.

Cincy is a great story, they'll be a contender for the next few years but I don't see them keeping up with the other AFC contenders. Whoever plays Pitt will use the same gameplan the Pats used last year in the Championship game - stop the run and let Big Ben and his gimpy thumb beat you. One and done for the stillers, IMO

Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

you know, im so sick of all the obvious choice predictions talked about all week every week, the playoffs are a different season. Im gonna go with my Giants vs. Indy

#535458Post 64 of 129

Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

Although Indi are indoors for the rest of their games I still cant see them doing it. The Pats are getting more and more healthy and will do it again. The Bears could pull a surprise tho, afterall "Defence wins championships".

Bring on Cleveland this Sunday

Would be great for me if they did, I'll be in NYC when the Superbowls on.

Re: 2006 NFL Superbowl Predictions

you can't really count any of the NFC teams out. none of them are really better then each other, and none of them will beat any of the AFC playoff teams, so it almost doesn't matter who wins from the NFC.

No way Cincy is beating the Steelers twice this season. Maybe next year but not this year. Pittsburgh will be too hungry for revenge.
