i've still found very VERY appealing sets in the promos and recommendations section so it doesn't bother me one bit. with the amount people contribute to this site, i'm glad mercuryserver is around. move on...... be happy we still have a HUGE plethora of music to listen to here.

I come here to get sets all the time for XTCRadio. Hell I even download frisky sets and play them on my station. I don't have any problem with it. I have posted my own sets that I play on XTCRadio - but they are not posted as XTCRadio sets. Just individual.

Ahh I see. Yeah well. I leave it up to the Artist/DJ. Bottom line is - nothing distributed on the Internet - recorded or streamed can 'really' be kept way from everyone.

I know I have absolutely no control over how many people stream rip my station. I have had it been going on for years. There is nothing I can do about it.

My note to frisky about charging - to each his/her own. I have been trying to earn money from my station for a long time - maybe they found a way to be successful.

Whatever. The dude clearly doesn't get that there are a lot of great sets to be had on MS and elsewhere that people will opine for, and for frisky it's an exposure opportunity lost. As for the few decent Frisky sets, they can be had in other ways.. ;)

I find it ironic that he did this in the first place, and is still doing this right now.
Its one thing if some of the DJ's don't want it, but, its hypocrisy at its finest.

A) frisky radio started with playing of Live Sets recorded at venues/off of the BBC etc.

B) he bashes the Republican party at every chance he gets and goes off on tangents bashing anyone who might favor the supporting of US Troops and some ideas that the Republican Party Favors, and says how evil it is to have censorship, yet......he is invoking that right now as we speak, because "he might lose money because of it." - Hypocrite.

C) his ego has gone off the deep end....i don't know who he thinks he is, but he has become greedy and i haven't visited his site in over a year and i don't plan on visiting it ever again.

So basically he is also saying that none of MS members can promote dj's that have provided mixes for Friskyradio. He's only hurting himself, its a BS statement that he posted and really doesn't make any sense, because at MS no one resells anything. We get the music out there so we and others can listen and spread the word!

I believe/thought somewhere in this thread it was said that it's ok for artistes/DJs to release their sets, just not ok for 3rd parties to rip and release the shows.

P&R on here by far surpasses Frisky. I like that we listen to sets and give feedback on certain djs. It's laughable to charge people to listen to sets. DJ's are not rockstars and they voluntarily put in time to get their name out there to play other people's tracks. Besides, the dj world is overly saturated anyway.

If I want to pay to listen to djs, I'll go to a club. But of course, that isn't what the debate is about. As for as the this whole issue is concerned, I think it's retarded and overly dramatic. Should be able just to put frisky around the set and nothing more.

ok, well...here's the deal. I've had some Intensified threads locked even without mention of Frisky. As an admin at Hybridized, I am authorized on behalf of the artist to post such sets at Hybridized (and they have no such voiceovers), so this is nearly an equivalent situation as far as I can tell. The only difference in comparison to the Trafik posting relates to the artist offloading some of the "busy" work (posting to outside forums) to me.
