Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

The week that the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission is going on to find out what happened that caused this crisis and the media is dead set focused on Haiti. Now don't get me wrong my heart goes out to the Haitians but this should be the focus of the mainstream media.

All the CEO's of the major banks are testifying and everyone is talking about the poorest country on the earth.

The US media is always distracted with the wrong story.

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

I knew it. You guys can't talk about anything.

The biggest bank robbery that drove the globe into a financial crisis and nobody is even following it?? I turn on mainstream and it is live 24hrs from Haiti. Since when did anybody care about Haiti?? It was so fucked up before the quake. Hundreds of thousands die all the time in Africa from hunger I don't see any tears for them from Jenks and Steve?

I donated many hours to get donations for Haiti so don't try to paint me as some haiti hater.

Lets watch 24hrs a day about Haiti and let the bank robbers get away!! YA great plan!!

PS - Wallstreet got $145 Billion ($145,000,000,000) in bonuses!!! This is outragous!! So before you guys go all humanitarian on me lets see how much haiti gets. Can't you see this is robbery??:DumbAss:

I've heard Canada has thee worst news on tv ever

...which would completely explain a lot...

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

Did you hear that from NBC??

The whole point of this thread was to talk about the content of the investigation not about haiti. But yet again all of you missed the point. It isn't surprising anymore.

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

heard it from canadians.

Then edit the parts about haiti and start talking about the content of the investigation silly.

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

Ok, I know now for a fact that either A or B or true:

A] You are a high functioning ratard (to quote The Hangover) B] You are Ashton Kutcher about to spring on Kamal or Tom's door any second with a camera crew and your VonDouche cap, and all of these posts are going to be on the next season premiere of Punkd.

I won't dodge the question, did Obama plant the subatomic-nuclear-destucto-warheads-off-the-coast-of-haiti, that went off this week, in the first months of his presidency, or did he have help from the NSA while he was still just a senator?

Answer this:

You watch the news enough, yes? You familiar with "if it bleeds, it leads"? I am sure you are. People are dead > any story no matter what.

Lloyd Blanfein (Goldman CEO) trying to compare the financial crisis to a hurricane.. What a loser this guy is. How can you compare a man made disaster through faulty practicing lending to katrina??

Ya I understand leading for a while. But I don't need 24hr coverage of it. Hell even in Canada here it is 24hrs. I want to know what is going on in my country. I already knew Haiti was fucked up.

maybe one day YOU'LL wake up after a major catastrophe and in need of help after losing everything, and someone else can say, fuck him, that's not the right story to be covered right now, I didnt care about canada before so i'm not going to start

I was in Italy during the tsunami in 2004 it was the same there. 24/7 tsunami on CNN the same footage over and over. They didn't cover anything else at all in the whole time I was there.

#1322211Post 15 of 53

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

Steve some of your comments are just plain stupid and out of left field. That isn't what I said. I said that I didn't need 24hr coverage. Sure put it on for a few hours but not 24. Also are you doubting I raised money for Haiti. In grade 7 my class raised money for Haiti. I collected $10 to cut peoples lawns all spring. I made $500 for haiti. That is 50 lawns when I was busy with a summer job and full time baseball.

So the UN is going to give $550 million and the USA is going to give $100 Mill. of China's money to Haiti.. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Haiti has probably never had $650 Million EVER.

I guess you guys forgot you are broke. Again because of the bank robbery.

Bob what is so stupid about it?? Wasn't Haiti fucked up before the quake? Is it stupid because I want to know what is going on in my country?? Some of you guys don't like the truth. You like to live in your little dream bubble..

#1322243Post 16 of 53

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

^the truth is pretty much the 2nd shittiest and poorest country just had 50-100k people die in one day and need help. we are broke? yep, but people from the us are already over there helping out as best they can and more money is going to be rolling in.

whats not truthful or dream bubble about that?

Yes but not the only one. I've just watched BBC News, ITN News and a special extended Channel 4 News has just started and not one has mentioned the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission. What are you trying to say that the news channels should just report on the single most important issue of the week. :what

no but our favorite conspircy theorist seems to think that since this story is getting more coverage than the us economy that the gov't must be conspiring to keep this under wraps, which is idiotic.

Read this article and see if it gives you the warm fuzzies for the future. The writer of this article even mentions "where is the media??"

These fuckin crooks really piss me off.

Wallstreet has completely decoupled from the real mainstreet economy. It will get worse because of moral hazard and no accountability.

Also can anyone find the whole thing? I can only find little clips of it on youtube. I can't find anything on day 2

You know, it depends on which form of new media you're consuming...but for instance, if you look at this webpage as one example - www.cnn.com - you will notice a lot of other stories in addition to the headline story about Haiti. Yes, it's true; there are other news being published besides Haiti! But the thing is you have to actually click on the story links and read the words on the page that show up.

Furthermore, at least I personally could not give a fuck less about what they talk about in their meeting over there because it's just a bunch of old fucks in suits saying a bunch of shit we already know, which is that they dropped the fucking ball and screwed up the entire economy because they were greedy as sin. It's old news. The only reason you care is because you relish the opportunity to come in here and tell us again for the 1,000,000,000th time how we live in a Nazi state, how we're all headed for impending doom and about to die a horrible death, etc. etc. etc. In that sense, you're old news, too...where's the remote, changing the channel.

I looked in the Business section of the link you provided and couldn't find anything on Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission at all. Just because you couldn't give a fuck it doesn't mean its not new worthy. This is something that has affected the whole world, you would expect some coverage. Last night on the UK news they had a feature about how Victoria & David Beckham where the 5th highest paid celebrity couple in Hollywood last year.I know what I'm more interested in.

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

Miro that kind of ignorance is exactly the problem with the US. Why don't you guys care that you are getting robbed? Why did the US tax payer have to pay 100cents on the dollar?? I mean 100cents? I could see 30cents if it was a systemic risk problem but 100 cents is screaming robbery.

#1322507Post 36 of 53

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

Its not ignorance. The fucking financial fallout/bailout coverage before Haiti has been on tv nonstop everywhere for the last year. Its not that he is ignorant, he doesnt give a shit anymore. Can you understand that?

Re: Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission - Everone is talking about Haiti?

^^^Real smart... "its not ignorance...its that he doesn't give a shit..":lol::lol:

You don't care that 37 million US citizens are on food stamps?? 12 million more then the great depression. You won't see the food lines because they get food stamps now.

What a great attitude.

So you have a financial inquiry on a crisis that's affected the whole of the world and probably had a bigger impact than 9/11 and you don't have no coverage because of Haiti:what You get these natural disasters probably about 3 times a year somewhere in the world, forest fire, flooding, earthquakes, mud slides, tsunami etc.

Apparently everyone in this fucking thread but me dont understand english. This shit has been on tv every single fucking day for over a year. Everyone here has heard of the media talking about how we are going to be standing in bread lines tomorrow and we are all going to die because we can't afford our heating bills, enough is enough.

Its probably not being covered 24x7 because WE KNOW AND WE DONT CARE, the hearing is not going to change shit or tell us anything we dont know already.
