Re: you know what's astonishing?

Well. I think you are dead wrong about Gillard. If she can overcome the enormous negativity thrown her way by almost everyone I believe Australia will be a far better place. And she is a very strong lady. :) She has definitely made compromises and done things I don't like , but no one is ever going to do everything I like :) In the end I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Just keep an open mind, as will I ! Anyway the alternative is even worse than Howard

Btw The company she keeps isn't as influential now because she has opened up the cabinet. It's not just four people any more.

I'll tell you what is getting up my nose , KRudd is actually getting credit for supporting Assange when all he is really doing is what he did during the election campaign , it's called revenge i think  Tthe one thing Mark Latham got right was KRudd oh, and the elite public schools list

No chance, she's just another shameless shill and her past and most recent actions speak for themselves.

I really do hope I'm wrong, for the sake of all Aussies and all the decent human beings out there.

Oh, you're back wanting to talk this time.

I personally don't know any politicians at the state, national level. I personally know a couple who have been elected and have served at local level. And besides, what does this have to do with our discussion?

Our "elected" officials are there to serve the people. It is not only our duty, but also our right, to criticize them whenever warranted.

I've provided you with info in relation to your leaders deliberately planning and having it's citizens killed.

Do you support your leaders that behave in such treasonous and criminal ways?

Have you already forgotten that, EVERY SINGLE reason given, for invasion and continued distruction of Iraq, were ALL based on lies?

Thousands and thousands of innocent men, woman and children have been murdered and for what exactly?

Have they got you by the balls that hard?

Re: you know what's astonishing?

What do you find offensive about Alex Jones, how he purportedly seems to have inside knowledge that the rest of us are lucky enough to receive and that we should be grateful we have someone of his ilk looking out for "us?" I have mixed feelings about him, but I appreciate his whistleblowing.

What worries me is that he believes in God. You have to worry about the actions of anyone who thinks they are doing gods work

Re: you know what's astonishing?

I don't think a faith in God is an automatic red flag. Mao and Stalin have killed far more than any other despots, and they were as atheistic as they come. I think letting ideology blind one to reality is the real problem and letting one's imagination run too wild in terms of new world order encroachment (I have little doubt Rothschild and co. have actively tried to bring about such prophecies as written in the bible, making them almost self-fulfilling). Ron Paul believes in God, too. ;-) 0bama claims to (whether that's true is another story), and he probably thinks he is is divinely justified in his belief in black liberation theology (racially motivated Marxism by any other name).

It's a game being played in which they can't lose for now. We're fed with many, many truths and then something way out of left field is said, that truly makes no sense at all.

Assanges very public statement that, 9/11 is a "false conspiracy", is the perfect example, wouldn't you agree?

And in all honesty, I don't believe it to be a very complicated view. Just need to look at it simply and logically.

So what we have now, is people who once held the very same views on just about everything, are now instead fighting with each other. The real issues, such as bringing and holding the real criminals to account is kinda being sidetracked at this point in time. Peace, fairness and justice is what we fight for and we mustn't lose sight of that.

Like I've stated previously, I'm all for more information, minus the insults.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

well it depends on what god they serve, IMHO God doesnt need anyone to do his work (id like to see someone control the earth movement ;)), but humans need to do their own work that will result in pleasing God. we need people that believe in something good, and btw im taking in general not about alex jones.

I'm mean the fact he actuality believes in a God not really his faith. He stands there campaining about a fully financed inpartal investigation into 9/11 but is willing to accept God is real with no evidence. Maybe we should have an offical investigation into religion.

well idk if u shud actually relate these two to each other period. ive met people from all over the world and with diff faith and still share the same thoughts with alex jones about 9/11. i dont think having faith in God or being an atheist has any thing to do with campaigning about investigating humans.

p.s. their is evidence all around but i wont get into this now.

I don't really see what Stalin has to do with it. My point was how can someone question so much and want to see physical evidence of something in order to believe it, but not apply the same principal to religion where there is no evidence of a God, just a lot of old story's and monuments.

Re: you know what's astonishing?

That's where you're mistaken. The evidence of design is everywhere...how one defines that intelligence and design is based on the individual. Dawkins and other atheistic ilk don't have an exclusive license as to our origins. I know you'll disagree, but basic logic dictates to me that something never came from nothing and that goes all the way back to the origins of the universe. No one was there at the time, so the best they can do is take a look at the world around them and come to their own conclusion.

Re: you know what's astonishing?

Hey, Didi, some of the most brilliant scientific discoveries of our recent history were made by those who acknowledged the possibility and probability of the existence of God (whatever the nature of said being's existence), so don't even start with me about little minds.

You didn't explain to me how it takes any LESS faith to believe that merely the unguided course of time and chaos brought us the natural world that exists today.

Enjoy your thread, several of you have proven your outright hypocrisy in not entertaining competing ideas (which I thought was what this thread represented), simply on the basis of someone daring to be anything other than an atheist. Oh, the horror!

Anyone catch the Bristol news today. A girl disappeared before Christmas and her body was found on Christmas day in Clifton. I nearly spilt my coffee when they told me police are checking Clifton Suspension Bridge CCTV. It has 32 cameras that run 24/7

Oh, the horror!
Just noticed this, Unfortunately for those scientists that acknowledged the possibility of the existence of a God , their brilliant scientific discoveries didn't include any proof of the existence of a god. Btw I think you will find that a lot of scientists would be quite happy to acknowledge a God if they just had proof!!

You don't need faith to believe in evolution There is concrete evidence about the theory of evolution.

And we are not talking about competing ideas, we are talking about ideas on one side, concrete evidence on the other.

The facts, just the facts

I seem to see the most vehement arguments here are trying to convince atheists that there is a God. Basically I don't care that you believe. If it works for you great !! Personally I get sick and tired of people trying to shove a God down my throat. Particularly when I see the horror of what happens in this world in the name of God.

^ this

I find your logic flawed Vinnie to say the least. Some of the most brilliant discoveries of science were made by people who deny the existence of a god also. Neither is relevant to the existence of a higher power at all.

now...fuck i,m gonna look like i,m arguing here... if u were the person that shot that film of the first plane hitting the first tower and realised what u had on tape what would u do ? i dont think u wouldn't exactly keep it as a personal memento, personally i would of handed it into the proper authorities right away and this being america i would of handed it straight to the FBI ? after all these would be the guys that would be investigating it ? am i right ?

now looking at the severity of the event ( not knowing this was actually a terrorist attack with more to come ) i reckon that this was serious enough to reach presidential status in other words he would of been informed about it by the FBI straight away after all in the first video u actually see firemen who would of actually had radio contact with the correct authorities ? does this make sense ?

if u check the time line ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_for_the_day_of_the_September_11_attacks ) the first plane hit @ 8:46 am and the second the second hits at 9:03 am that gives the person with the video 17 minutes to get it too the FBI and for them to relay that info to the president

The footage was shot by 2 French film makers who where making a documentary on New York fire-fighters. You have probably seen this documentary as its been show in the UK several times. They went on to cover the rest of what happened that day

This was also part of their footage

So you reckon the first instint of the 2 reporters was to run down to the FBI get passed security, show it so someone in the FBI, up load the video send it to the president all in under 17 minutes. They run the WTC and carry on filming their documentary.
