Whilst there are some member here who excuse the actions of Islamists as nothing more than a reaction to US or Israeli occupation, this will become an on-going thread showing the atrocities carried out by followers of this death cult on regions of the world where the US and Israel have no involvement. Feel free to add to it.
Thai Muslim militants behead Myanmar migrant

Reuters Monday, March 12, 2007; 12:31 AM

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Muslim militants beheaded a worker from Myanmar and killed two other migrant workers in a raid on a construction camp in Thailand's Muslim-majority far south, an army officer said on Monday.

Five Myanmar workers were also wounded in the attack by militants armed with AK-47 assault rifles on the camp in the province of Pattani on Sunday night, Lieutenant Kriengsak Prakongsilp told Reuters.

The militants apparently thought Thai Buddhist workers were living in the camp in the largely Malay-speaking region where 2,000 people have been killed in a three-year-old separatist insurgency, he said.

"They beheaded one victim and left a message on the wall saying 'You kill the innocent and we kill Thai Buddhists'," Kriengsak said.

Attacks on foreign workers have been rare since violence erupted in The three far-south provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat in January 2004. The far-south region, annexed by Buddhist-majority Thailand a century ago, has periodically been convulsed by rebellion against Bangkok's rule.

In a separate incident, a 3-kg (6.6-lb) improvised bomb triggered by mobile phone exploded in a crowded market in Yala province on Monday, wounding eight people, police said.

Security officials in the south and in Bangkok are stepping up surveillance this week to ward off any sabotage which might erupt to mark the anniversary of the founding of a Muslim separatist group in the south.

Australia has issued two travel alerts in the past few weeks, saying intelligence pointed to a high threat of bomb attacks.

It said the increase in violence in southern Thailand might lead to attacks elsewhere in the country, including Bangkok and tourist areas such as Phuket and Pattaya.

Army chief Sonthi Boonyaratglin said on Sunday that, although security forces were on the alert, he did not expect attacks in Bangkok, where a still unsolved series of bombs killed three people on New Year's Eve.

Re: The religion of peace strikes again

I saw this extremist muslim group in Nepal on this video cutting this guys head off with a knife like it was a sunday ham. and yes the dude was still alive. afterwards he just put the dudes head on his chest. in the background his counterparts were shooting allof these villagers repeatedly with assault rifles. I seriously wish i never watched it because it gave me the most horrible feeling inside and it literally made me kinda sick. but once again the only major interest that i know of that the US or Isreal has there is tourism.
Man blows himself up in Internet cafe

CASABLANCA, Morocco - A man with explosives hidden on his body blew himself up in an Internet cafe after the owners prevented him from looking at terror Web sites, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The man was killed and four people were injured in the Sunday night blast in a Casablanca slum, said ministry spokesman Abderrahman Achour. One of the wounded was the dead man's companion, who was hospitalized with burns and a throat injury.

Both men were carrying explosives. But officials believe the cybercafe may not have been their target and that the explosion was an accident, Mokhtar Bekkali Kacemi, the general affairs director for Casablanca province, was quoted by the MAP state news agency as saying.

The men were "probably preparing to commit a criminal act" later, Kacemi said. Moroccan police have been cracking down on suspected Islamist extremists since suicide bombings in Casablanca in 2003 killed 45 people and woke the North African kingdom to the threat of Islamic terrorism.

The dead man was identified as Abdelftah Raidi, who was convicted of suspected terror links and sentenced to five years in prison before being pardoned in 2005, Achour told The Associated Press. Raidi, a Casablanca native in his early 20s, was unemployed, he said.

Raidi's injured companion was identified as Yusuf Khoudri, from the same Casablanca neighborhood, Achour said.

The news agency reported that two men entered the cafe at 10 p.m. Sunday seeking access to terrorist sites, but the owner's son refused. A scuffle broke out, and the owner called for help before Raidi's explosives went off, Kacemi was quoted as saying by MAP. Khoudri then fled, dropping an explosives belt on his way out, the official said. He was arrested about an hour later.

Khoudri was taken to Mohamed V Hospital in Casablanca, where he underwent an operation on his throat, the ministry spokesman said. Police questioning was limited because of his injury.

The other three injured people included the Internet cafe owner's son, MAP reported.

Re: The religion of peace strikes again

I don't really think religion is behind the violence, but I think it's the people using religion to condone their behavior.

A couple of examples, Muslims in America haven't committed terrorist acts, but Middle Eastern Muslims are know for terrorism. Also, Christian crusades were violent, but claimed to be fighting for God.

Does being religious make one violent? Certainly not. But religion enables violence by providing a cause for people to fight, and an irrational justification for it that can't be questioned. Many religions teach us that questioning God is blasphemy... but Islam is particularly bad in this respect. Even in most moderate Islamic countries, questioning the Quran is punishable by death.

When was the last time you turned on the television and saw Athiests clashing in the streets with Agnostics? Religion serves no other purpose but to divide people.... to remove rational thought / personal responsibility from our lives... and to provide a control mechanism over the masses. It's very hard for us to use our brains to think through and solve our problems or differences. It's so much easier to just give up and say, "God wills it." or "God will take care of me." or "This is all part of God's plan." And when people are taught not to question authority, they are easier to control. Religious leaders have known this for centuries, and used it to serve their own ambitions.

Christianity has been extremely violent throughout history. This is not some secret or big surprise. And when you consider that Christianity, Islam and Judaism all basically comes from the same beginnings, just interpreted differently... then you REALLY begin to see how much violence has come from the Abrahamic religions.

Some good points made, but a few things I would disagree wtih like the example of Atheists fighting Agnostics which isn't a good example. Quite frequently Atheists clash with Christians to remove God out of the world. Atheists backed by the ACLU sue over prayer in school, removing the 10 commandments, nativity scenes at Xmas, Xmas itself, and now the use of the word Easter. Atheists and agnostics fight very hard to remove God and Jesus out of the world.

Christianity has been violent throughout history and we can all agree on that, but Jesus never said go and kill in my name. He actually resisted and taught against violence, but as you mention religious leaders use religion to control the masses to do what they want.

The discerning Christian,Jew, or Muslim is one who should ask is what I'm being taught and told is doctrinally sound. With that attitude and reasoning, the idea of free thought isn't abandoned as you attempt to point out. Christians change churches because they realize that they are not being taught what they should be. To say everyone in any religion lacks any idea of independent thinking is to stereotype a large group of people isn't right or even true. I agree there is some truth to it, but not everyone are sheep that blindly follow.

Protesting in the streets or bringing a court action are a far cry from stoning people to death, cutting off heads/arms, and killing masses of people in the name of an invisible man in the sky. I don't think you can equate the actions of some athiests petitioning for the removal of religion from the public arena to the violence perpetrated by religious people over the centuries.

Re: The religion of peace strikes again

First off there is a difference in being spiritual and being religious. I was a raised in the church( it happenedto be protestant) and taught the word and all. My parents are very active in the church and their spirituality means everything to them. I still retain my spirituality myself, and it means a lot to me also, but I was never taught to push my faith on other people or believe blindly and not ask questions. It's human nature to question thinggs especially as you get older. It kills me how many people look down upon others who have a faith and are spritual, it doesn't make one ignorant to believe in a higher power. I actually believe it's arrogant not to, but once again that is my beliefs and it's not my place to judge. I was taught that God gave us FREE WILL to decide what to do with ourselves, the whole fundamentalist approach negates that entire belief structure and makes no sense to me. Just a thought considering theres a lot of negative commentary towards the people of faith on here. Not all spiritual people are what you see on TV and hear on the radio.

Re: The religion of peace strikes again

More from the so called religion of peace - it seems like its a bad time to be a Buddhist in parts of Thailand.
Nine Buddhists murdered in Thai Muslim south.

by Mohamad Sabri Musordi

YALA, Thailand (AFP) - Nine Buddhists were murdered Wednesday after separatists ambushed their bus in Thailand's restive Muslim-majority south, highlighting an escalation in the insurgency.

Local police said three men and six women, including two girls aged 14 and 15, were shot in the head at point-blank range after armed rebels forced their minibus off the road.

The driver, a Muslim man, and a seriously injured Buddhist passenger were the only survivors from the daylight attack in Yala, one of three southern provinces where about 2,000 people have been killed in three years of separatist unrest.

"Militants opened fire on a minibus full of passengers who commute between Betong (district) and Hat Yai, and the bus veered off the road," Colonel Acar Tiproach, a Thai army spokesman, told AFP.

Eight of the passengers, who police said included traders, villagers, teachers, students and one solider, died immediately. One more died on the way to hospital.

A police officer at the scene said separatist rebels had placed logs on the road to force the minibus to a stop.

"When the bus slowed down, they opened fire. The bus veered off the road, and then the militants got on and shot the passengers in the head at point blank range," the investigating officer said.

Colonel Apirak Sungkhao, a Yala police commander, said militants detonated a small roadside bomb about 500 metres from the scene of the attack to prevent the army or police from approaching quickly, because they would have to do a security sweep first. He said they also put spikes on the road to stop vehicles approaching.

No one was injured in the blast, he added.

When police and media arrived on the scene, they found the minibus crashed in a ditch, with the victims slumped in the bloodstained seats where they were killed, execution-style.

The gruesome multiple killing followed a similar ambush Tuesday, when a pickup truck carrying people to a funeral in Yala was attacked by militants who shot dead a 61-year-old Buddhist.

Violence has recently escalated in the region bordering Malaysia despite a raft of peace-building measures proposed by Thailand's military-installed government.

A string of coordinated bomb blasts across Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani provinces last month killed nine and injured 44. Attacks have also become more gruesome, with two people beheaded by suspected militants this month.

Analysts and military sources said Wednesday's massacre might have been in retribution for an army raid on a militant training base on March 2 that killed at least five separatist rebels in Narathiwat.

"I think they want to revenge some of their group who were attacked by rangers, so they kill some people," said Perayot Rahimmula, an academic and analyst based in Pattani. He said he did not think the attack aimed to inflame sectarian tension between Buddhists and Muslims, but added the escalation of violence had prompted some Buddhists to consider fleeing their homes in the south.

Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country. The three southern Muslim provinces were an autonomous ethnic Malay sultanate until Thailand annexed them a century ago, and outbreaks of separatist violence have erupted ever since.

The region has recently been on high alert, with the authorities warning of specific attacks from March 13-15 to mark the anniversary of the founding in 1963 of separatist group Barisan Revolusi Nasional Melayu Pattani.

Re: The religion of peace strikes again

it is amazing how many stupid ppl in the world actually belive in thier respective religions. jesus, mohammed, and moses may have been real, but they didnt talk to god, or do any miracles, they were in the right place at the right time and said the right thing to get people to follow what they wanted to do. think about it. if a guy could turn water into wine, wouldnt MILLIONS hear about it right away, and further, wouldnt they immediately call him out on it? like i said, they are all nothing more than guidelines for living a decent life while respecting others. and in the middle east, they dont even respect each other, evidenced by the last thousand years, and iraq right now. to think they are blaiming america for deaths when american troops have only been responsible for roughly 300 death of civilians(according to the iraqi officials, not ours)

I don't recall Christians doing the violent acts you mention in recent times. You're speaking of a few radical Muslims of today. Liberals and atheists don't attack Christians with the same hate because they're scared of Muslims.

The alliance of the far left and the Muslim community is an interesting situation that will explode one day. When I think of these two groups - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Once the friend is dealt with then the enemies will turn on each other.
