Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons
Yeah, but the Senate is going to save him.

Which actually is a good thing - Mitch McConnell is polling at 17% in his home state. If he does let Trump skate, he risks the Republicans losing all three branches and Moscow Mitch gets a fair share of the blame.
The Republicans in power today are nothing more than a rogue party. Ever since their hatred of Obama, they do not hold America first, not in the slightest. I have said this before.. the Republican party of the past I actually liked and would vote for.. but this sick party of today, I cannot see myself doing it in the foreseeable future.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

Not until they give up on the populism bullshit - but I think they'll self destruct before they abandon what's keeping them on life support. As Lyndsay Graham said, Trump is going to destroy their party and they deserve it for embracing him in the first place.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

At the end of the day Trump is loosing the necessary votes he had that gave him the win last election and sure as shit is not gaining new votes.

Thankfully the Trump show will be coming to an end. In my estimation anyway.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

Don't underestimate the power of conservative America and the bullshit electoral college where they are giving people in smaller communities a much larger percentage of the strength of their vote. This will be the downfall of America and likely the election advantage that this scumbag Trump needs, giving uneducated small-minded conservative idiots the power to control the strongest government in the world so that they can dictate and destroy democracy.

It's why cunts like Lindsey "don't leak my nudes" Graham, John "I married my sister" Kennedy, and Mitch "4-chins" McConnell are consistently re-elected into Power in these ultra-conservative states. In comparison, we can hopefully watch Devin "where's my cow" Nunes, Kevin "fire my worthless ass" McCarthy, and that rat fuck rape enabler Gym Jordan get kicked out in the next election cycle.

That is what a lot of people said in 2016.. "Trump isnt serious" "he has no chance of winning". Like Kamal said, don't underestimate the power of fear, to which Trump will be hammering no doubt. Republicans will continue to cheat by trying to redraw voting maps, forcing states to use antiquated voting machines, anything to keep people from voting.

Republican party has turned into a fascist anti-democracy party. They have already proven they are willing to sacrifice America for party.

The issue I think is presenting a strong enough opponent to give those who feel we need a hard line tough leader. And I do think most Americans want someone strong in office.

@ your second paragraph :roflmao: spot on

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

the comments coming out of the Republicans today are just astounding. further proof that the Republican Congress is compromised, party above country, and cannot stand on their morals and 2 feet but instead drop to their knees to blow the corrupt treasonous President. mind blowing.

When the fire is at their feet, we may be surprised to see some Rs jump. Susan Collins, Romney are the two that jump to mind who have consistently been critical of Chumps actions.

If only John McCain were here to provide some much needed leadership for the Repubs. Could not imagine what it must feel like defending such an unprincipled individual.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

If the Senate Republicans do let Trump skate, they're going to do a lot more damage to themselves and the country down the line. This sets an incredibly bad precedent and will allow for dictatorship like behavior to stand, and will come back to bite them when the situation eventually reverses itself from a party holding power standpoint.

Then, of course, we'll be hearing them howl about "the sanctity of the office and checks and balances", as the argument will serve them for the moment. Just like their caring about deficits.

It's disappointing to see such corrupt practices as being everyday news and accountability being ignored. And Americans still wonder why they're being laughed at daily....

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

This could be a bandaid to a hemorrhage for 2 years. Dems will either take the Senate (they damn near did this time if it wasn't for the fucking electorate again) or they will take both Senate and the Executive Branch and then we'll see the whiny old septuagenarians come whining out that their diapers are slipping with shit over the smallest of issues.

At least during that time, I hope Dems ram through each and every one of the 400 pieces of legislature that McConnell is using to clean his ass with.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

I'll tell you what - I hope we get our fucking values sorted as a nation again. Overdose & suicide eclipsing car accident deaths and life expectancy down for 3rd year in a row.

The leaders no longer leading principled based lives and the followers doing what they do.

I think Trump was a long shot taken by desperate human beings who evidently didn't understand how diverse our country is (electing an Obama). What probably half of them didn't realize though is that we actually NEED smart people running our country.

Really hope the backlash of Trump is we work together again and stop the bullshit partisan silliness Kamal.

We probably won't be lucky enough to see that - McConnell is polling at 17% approval rating in his own state, and is relying on out of state funds for his campaign. But, maybe if there's some kind of sanity regained, they'll take some huge steps towards gun control and put the NRA (and it's openness to accept Russian money and pass it on to their preferred candidates) out of it's misery. It'll be a consolation, but imagine how many Republican campaigns will be financially kneecapped with the NRA out of business and no longer able to offer donations.

He'll still get blamed for losing the Senate though, and have a hand in the blame for not helping the Republicans renew their voter base. Low educated white males aren't a good bedrock to lay a future foundation for your party, which is what they've got left.

Plus, he'll likely be remembered as Moscow Mitch as his legacy, which he's said he doesn't like. :)

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

At the end of the day we need a leader who is both law-abiding and a phenomenal problem solver. I get why Trump was elected, he made some strong promises with a style of enthusiasm that spoke to Republicans. I may not agree with his style of management but I am more than willing to give the man a chance. We did that and unfortunately he wasn't able to lead in a legal format.

#1789918Post 177 of 329

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

"I am more than willing to give the man a chance. "

This was the mistake so many made despite all evidence to the contrary.

1 - didn’t vote for him

2 - that chance ended once I realized the office was about him and not America.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

The corruption of McConnell and Elaine Chao is staggering. Not to mention someone closely associated with Deripaska invested 10s of Millions in KY on some construction projects after the cunt eased sanctions against Deripaska.

There was a time when the US knew what was right and what was wrong, and money couldn't buy the right to tip it one way from another. That time, unfortunately, has been buried by the Republican party in broad daylight.
We probably won't be lucky enough to see that - McConnell is polling at 17% approval rating in his own state, and is relying on out of state funds for his campaign. Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

It's the Citizen's United ruling by the Supreme Court that I think was a major turning point. The idea that the best way to ensure a democracy survives should be by allowing unlimited amounts of money to flow into the campaigns from any interest was probably one of the dumbest decisions ever made. The idea of fighting corruption by allowing more money into the system you're trying to protect is a product of typical dumdfuck American thinking - more is always better in their eyes.

It was also the decision that is one of the few things keeping the Republican party alive nowadays.

i would say they are definitely on the decline. their racist behavior over the past few years and blind support of the superior masochist Trump is hurting their image. they only have fellow racists and the super religious (funny how sometimes those two often times go hand in hand) at this point as far as core followers.

I'm getting the feeling that this isn't the first time Donnie has brought home a virus that he caught from another woman.

I've loving how every media outlet (except Fox News) keeps playing his comments during the debate earlier this week about masks :D

....and then go into his other greatest hits over the last 6 months...

When you’ve been gaslighted by Trump but are also emotionally connected to his “movement” you’re officially a part of the cult and the leader can do no wrong. As we can clearly see.

I wonder what will happen once they eventually (hopefully not) get Roe v Wade overturned. That single issue drives a lot of Bible followers (inherent gullible population to an extent and more easily able to manipulate as a result) to vote that way. Or, more than likely, the Republicans in power know that this single carrot on a stick issue is what a lot of their older voters are still voting for; will they have the guts to over turn it or will the carrot stay on the stick for votes?

haha, you are funny. republicans in power want nothing but more power. they do not give a shit about the US citizen at all. this was proven today, they will work overtime and weekends to shove a Supreme Justice through in less than a month and then immediately recess with still no covid relief. cowards all of them.

it is just so sad how disgusting the republican party has gotten in recent years.

Re: TRUMP - Pros & Cons

There's no video of that is the best defense? There's no video of

 • Trump molesting the 26 women, yet 3 are suing the shit out of him in court
 • Trump plunging 6 business into bankruptcy
 • Trump and the pee pee tape, but he still fears it's existence? :what
 • Trump cheating on all of his wives
 • Trump making hush money payments
 • Trump burying a testimony from a maid in Trump Tower who he impregnated
 • Trump's Russia Collusion
 • Trump's failure to deal with the coronavirus, yet here we are with 4% of the world's population and nearly 25% of the world's infected.

There's plenty more, but hey, if video is what gets you excited, then you do you.
