Re: Rest of World Favors Obama

*Edit - not "gods country" but that God will no longer bless America if we re-elect Obama. And you are right, they are like Christian Taliban. Except the Dad is a dr. and the mom is a nurse. They live in a million $ home and have plenty of excess cash.

And where the "don't know what they don't know" part really comes to play is she knows I have 5 or so politicians on the local and federal level in my family. If anyone knows what they are doing when they vote it would be my family since they are privy to the reality of politics and NEVER vote for the party rather the individual's views. It's just sad to see adults turn into whining brats. It's not like Obama is a fool like some people who have been in office. The guys a pragmatic moderate ffs.

I guess this is their defense for Jimmy Savile? "He was too senile to know what he was doing."
I wasn't aware re electing Obama is similar to electing a "violent leader" like Pol Pot. Shit doesn't look good for us at all now that I think about it.
We were talking about the merits and the grave problems associated with democracy.

A noun. A verb. And Obama.

Not everything is about Obama. Or you.

Re: Rest of World Favors Obama
The right wing vehemently detests Obama, I've never seen anything like it in my lifetime. My childhood best friends parents are off their reservation over Obama. Normally they are reasonable people but this election has turned my friends Mom into a raging psycho. She's insulted my entire family suggesting we are against God's plan for our country and essentially don't know what we're doing when we vote for Obama. I know many other right-wingers share her nutty views.

Rather than get pissed off at dems or those who voted for Obama maybe next time GET INVOLVED MORE, spend that hateful energy on a local level where change really takes place...

It's frustrating to see people who don't know what they don't know let FOX NEWS feed into their ignorance.
Wow. Not that tiresome, "it's fox news is so ignorant!" crap again.

Yes we get that fox news is not enlightened or sophisticated. Do you ever get tired of repeating that line? or is it simply automatic at this point?

Who the hell watches it? Sure. Religious people. But they're bad, ignorant, etc...for not....watching what you think is good.

I think it's funny that you capitalized it, as if you just wanted to scream. Get ahold of yourself. Jesus fucking christ dude.

But this is coming from the guy who is a true believer.

Floridaorange, you are no different than the people you despise. This is plainly obvious to anyone who reads that paragraph. Maybe in the future you will reflect on this, but i think it's easier to keep drinking from the cup of your cult just as it is easier for the god-fearing religious people drink from a similar one.

Christian Taliban. I'm not religious, but Christian Taliban, "except the dad is a doctor and the mom is a nurse" - you go far beyond being a whiny brat to demonize, by comparison, that two people whose lives are focused on helping others is like a group of stone age cross bred fucktards from whogivesafuckistan.

There is a valid criticism against christians being ridiculous - sure. But you simply open yourself up to ridicule and mockery for going to such great lengths in comparing a christian doctor and a christian nurse to the . . . . . .fucking taliban.

Nobody made you make such a retarded comparison.

But I hope it was therapeutic, at least, for your sake.
Those ultra right wings/neo cons over there scare the shit out of me...some of them are just christian taleban. Anyone seen god camp?

God's country? Who did "god" give it to first?

Religion in the US is a bit "in your face" from what I have seen.....

I'm tired...apologies in advance if I've offended anyone.
Extreme Religiosity. Extreme Authoritarianism.a

Two opposing groups who I hope cancel each other out. I hope the Stuff-White-People-Like crowd is snuffed out first, however. They're completely retarded beyond all belief.

Re: Rest of World Favors Obama

On a side note: I presently have the impression that the christians, generally, are turning leftward. Jesus christ commands to take care of others and shit like that, so they are pretty much copying the Jews (in their devotion to tikkun olam) by doing god's will through the government.

More and more christians are rejecting the notion that life begins at birth and believing that abortions are ok (and not only permitted in instances of rape but generally acceptable), they are reject sanctity of marriage (assisted, of course, by female hypergamy), and the role of religion in one's life and society (more social than anything else). You'd be surprised at how many christians think guns are bad and have a poor opinion of allowing anyone but government officials to own them.

As time passes, this Coastal Churchianity floods inward to the midwest, eroding tradition and religion itself.

In the future, I see most religions following a path similar to Episcopalians. (barring a serious recession that will never happen! right! Right? riiiiight?)

However, when the goddamn phelps family is the first thing one thinks of when they think of christians, they miss the forest for a bunch of faggotrees.

Even so, the phelps family, as nauseating as they may be, at least exercise their first amendment rights (and pretty well, too, actually).

The taliban do no such thing. Not even close.

Mariner I was agreeing with nelinho, and my comments were with regard to his comparison of the extreme religious types. Settle down buddy, it's just 4 more years .

Floridaorange, you are no different than the people you despise. .
Everyone is an expert nowadays aren't they? Extremists go online and congregate with others just like them....and therein lies the problem, the TV media is a reflection of the direction the media is going online. "Something for everyone" moderate, extreme whatever.

I'm not on FB making political comments like the individuals I am referring to. I'm not intermingling my religious views with my political views either. People aren't interested in that shit. So either you are trolling or don't understand the comparison you made. I do not behave similarly to the person I am referring to. I don't even "despise" them. Like I said, it's my childhood best friends parents. I'll always love them regardless of their political views.

But never before have I seen them get to angry over an election and make personal attacks. I'm leaving out a lot, believe me.

Re: Rest of World Favors Obama

late reply...mariner made a good point in highlighting the key differences between the real taliban and what I labelled as christian taliban...I was tired (a cop out excuse) but the context I was meant was relative extremism of religious beliefs and using them for dastardly purposes...which I think I only knew the context of the message given the vagueness of it.

Segue

this week saw Obama make a call to Netanyahu apparently with regards to civilian casualties ..odd because there's been a numerous casualties in Pakistan where drone attacks have occurred....a nation that is supposedly an ally of the US in the war on terrorism.

Peace mofos.
