Re: sad day in america, does anyone think the govt played a part???
Its probably less than you would think. The question is, why do you think it would take thousands?
You didn't understand my original question in which I was asking if 9/11 was an inside job plotted by American's government or military or FBI, how would that have been kept a secret. In order for all of that to be staged the way conspiracy theorists suggest, IE controlled demolitions, fake tapes from the airplanes, requesting the military not shoot down the planes, covering up evidence of cameras at the pentagon and on and on and on. For all of that to be orchestrated and for it to be kept a secret, I was suggesting that it would take 1,000's of people, and I was suggesting that you could not keep it from leaking.

With regard to what really happened that day I am not suggesting it took more than 100 people at all.

I understood the question. My point is you think covert ops take thousands of people to organize. Unfortunately for you, history would suggest otherwise. Donald Rumsfeld controlled the Pentagon and everyone in it. Cheney the State & Justice Dept and numerous other hawks from the cold war era controlled (and still do) the various military and classified ops. Therefore, it seems plausible that orders carried out in the name of national security could easily have been carried out by a handful of people, as orders do indeed trickle down and those not carrying them out are replaced immediately with people who do. I find the naivety towards your own Govts operations kind of scary. Do you believe the Bush administration went to war based on lies? If so, surely you can appreciate how little it took for them, in terms of personnel at decision making level, to carry out that "little" operation!

Re: sad day in america, does anyone think the govt played a part???

"You just empowered what I said. Sure, you have a certain belief about what happened and everybody else is foolish. That's fair enough. One thing you can't refute is the psychology I spoke of. Which is based on pure fact, something your 'common sense' approach to life would surely understand.

If you can argue the issue without sounding like a pumped up 'America Fuck Yeah' airhead, then go ahead. I'd doubt very much you can. You claim to know, without any shadow of a doubt what happened. People on the other side of the fence do not. That's why questions are asked. Nobody is denying planes flew into the building. The motives, the precise elements of the operation carried out and the people involved are under scrutiny. If you say you use common sense then use it. Denial is the only emotion on show here, nothing to the contrary. I'm sure your common sense must be itching at the sight of WTC7 free falling to the ground or for the first time in human history a structure defying the very physics that helped it stand upright in the first place?

One quick choice, which is it? A fully loaded plane carrying its max payload of fuel slamming into a building and causing the collapse in near free fall because of the massive damage and trauma to the foundations OR a building that collapses in the exact same manor because of some small fires spread out over a few floors? You can't have both, for obvious common sense reasons."

Still no answer by resonator on this either!!

Re: sad day in america, does anyone think the govt played a part???

I'm wondering why if thats the case then zero evidence has come up of this actually occurring. Note even the Pentagon Papers were leaked way back when, when they was shady business going on. The bigger question is really why would people who dedicate their life to serving their country really be motivated to do something so wrong against the country they've spent so much time apparently trying to make better? It isn't rational.
Sure we disagreed but we never had to resort to name calling (except for Jenks maybe). Then after Toasty & Miro vanished we where left with res0 who failed to convince anyone of his argument so he resorted to silly pictures and then name calling. I don't think anyone else has taken that direction or has chosen to take that direction form the general Politics contributors. What gets me is your elaboration of a figure of speech, generally stated by res0. And all of sudden it's signature worthy.

I also don't think anyone gets it though, merely for the fact people may be laughing at your signature not with it.

The bigger picture here is how to prosecute people involved in such a crime in this day and age. When it comes to middle eastern dictators or African warlords then the answer is simple but not when its leaders of the Western world, especially the US.

When somebody like the FBI reviews a case, every piece of evidence is looked at after it has been retrieved by the FBI themselves. When a commission reviews a case, the only look at the evidence that is presented to them by third parties. There's a reason this method isn't used in criminal cases. When the people doing the reviewing are connected to the very people implicated, then you have a bigger problem. You can see where this is going.

The crux of the matter for you seems to be the faith you have in your own political leaders. The notion that any political leader in the modern world dedicates their lives to their country in order to better it, just isn't true. They are dedicated to money, and money alone. Governments are essentially corporations. In fact, they're even floated as such. Governments therefore are motivated by profit, which in turn motivates certain decisions that may seem alien, unjust or even inhumane to most of us. This is nothing new to corporate culture though. I assume you're aware of Cheneys corporate connections. Well he's just the guy we know most about. Washington is riddled with politicians just like him, all with connections to corporate America. Do you really think they care about ole Joe the Plumber and the fact he's down on his luck? Let's be realistic here.

You didn't answer the question...there isn't any evidence. Nothing leaked to good olde' Wikileaks, reporters around the world, insiders with second thoughts, etc. Also just saying 'coverup' isn't a valid answer ;)

Evidence like clearing the crime scene asap then disposing everything PDQ. Nazi's where patriots it didn't stop them burning the reichstag or the US government allowing the attack on Pearl Harbour. Its rational to assume not everyone in the government is a patriot

Really do you want me to highlight a few posts in a few threads for you.

As for the signature I'm just participating in the recent MS tradition of taking quotes from other members and using them as my signature. You haven't heard me bitching about another user who did the same with my name, only it wasn't a quote I made. Or the green triangles that popped up overnight. Though saying that I find them amusing. Some people need to feel apart of something I guess.

And as for the last bit you should have paid attention to my previous signature.
