The Insider

This is a totally great film by one of my fav directors Michael Mann. Like most of his films it is very beautifully shot and also has a good soundtrack. A few tunes from Lisa Gerrard in there and the Perfecto mix of Safe From Harm as well.

This is a great story about the fallout and subsequent killing of an important story on 60 Minutes by CBS. I always thought it would be an amazing job to be an investigative reporter so maybe this is why I like this movie so much.

I went to see this in the theater back in the day and that poster above is some limited edition. I asked the theater if they could give it to me when they were done and they wouldnt :( I can only find it on ebay for like 50-100$ now :(

^ pacino was nominated for an oscar for his role in this one, and it's tough to miss crow & pacino in a movie together...i still agree this is an exemplary movie for this thread.

Judi Dench is fantastic in this movie, also has a great score by Philip Glass. Highly recommended.

Yes Ribbs8) Caught this one on IFC few weeks ago, very enjoyable. And not sure if mentioned but The Usual Suspects! Classic movie and had me stumped the whole way through.

Layer Cake was fantastic so is The Usual Suspects.... I would even go as far as saying it would be in my top 10 fav movies. Now I remember watching LA Confidential around the same time and thought that was a excellent movie as well. Need to dig up these for a re-run.

Have any of y'all seen [U]Rachel Getting Married[/U] with Anne Hathaway? I gotta admit I was hung over and not in the mood to watch this movie, but my gf at the time made me watch it. Had no idea it was so dark (thought it was a dark comedy...I was waaay off). Never decided if I liked it or if was too much for me.... it was depressing..... and really intense.... and didn't mix well with a hangover. However, I'd highly recommend it. There's some great raw emotion and great acting all over it.
