I thought this was coming out this weekend, too bad it is just in limited release for right now, I will have to wait a few more weeks. This flick looks like it should be great.

Re: Babel

I don't get out to the theatre much anyways.

#740057Post 5 of 72

Re: Babel

anymore the theater sucks. 10 minutes of commercials, uncomfortable chairs, and jackasses talking.

i either watch at home or wait a few weeks and go on an off time when there is hopefully no one around and sit in the handicap aisle so that i actually have some leg room since im not 5'6"

Re: Babel

screeners have been out for a week now. it's good, the scene where the deaf japanese girl does a pill and goes clubbing is very good indeed my only quarm is that it did seem to go on a bit

#764143Post 17 of 72

Re: Babel

This movie was truly an emotional journey. I will recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeing a serious movie. The clubbing scene is so intense, for a moment I forgot I was in a movie theather!!

Re: Babel

#772699Post 20 of 72

Re: Babel

i watched the screener last night, definatly intense, so much desperation...almost the same emotional, and cimagraphic direction as the movie crash....definatly oscar caliber. the kitty of couse is the best actor in the movie

#773797Post 21 of 72

Re: Babel

finally got around to watching this, it was very good, i liked it alot.

#774061Post 22 of 72

Re: Babel

i assume some of you are downloading a dvd screener from somewhere - is it a dvdrip or an avi/mpg/whatever file? if dvdrip, can someone point me toward it? ;) (via pm of course)

#775595Post 25 of 72

Re: Babel

very good one, liked it the whole way trough, like crash but only way slower, even more serious, just a lil better.

#783317Post 26 of 72

Re: Babel

This movie was fantastic, saw it yesterday so intense.

#799429Post 27 of 72

Re: Babel

i really like this ... hope it wins big in the oscars

#799750Post 28 of 72

Re: Babel

i would like to see it win a few too... somehow i dont think it will.

#799906Post 29 of 72

Re: Babel

this or the departed. scorscese better not get fucked for the 10th time for this one. we will know for sure this year if the oscars are just a bunch of bullshit. we already know the grammys are since jethro tull won for a damn flute song so long ago, beating out ....and justice for all.

Re: Babel

I can't believe this got such good comments...in my oppinion this film is really, really shit! I am so sick and tired of these kind of crapy films about life in general...so fucking boring and crapy...this is undoubtedly one of the worst films I have seen this year...Lost in translation is a thousand times better than this shit...but anyway its just my oppinion...

#811581Post 31 of 72

Re: Babel

thats too bad...i guess they all cant be independence day and men in black ii.

#811762Post 32 of 72

Re: Babel

no...thats not the type of films I like but this is shit... Okay maybe if you like it so much you could tell me the theme of the film as you understood it to be?

#811768Post 33 of 72

Re: Babel

A bit too far fetched for my liking...

Deaf girl whose mother killed herself and the father's gun happens to end up shooting a woman whose child died as an infant. Meanwhile (at the exact same time) her other two children are as good as kidnapped. If the three stories were kept seperate then fair enough but are people seriously meant to accept all these many coincidences.

'Amores Perros' still stands as his best film out of the three.

#811769Post 34 of 72

Re: Babel

exactly my point he tried to make yet ANOTHER one of those kind of films where stories intertwine like so many e.g. pulp fiction, amores peros, crash...the other one thats called like 10 o'clock or something...nevermind. Anyway this film is crap and those Moroccans act better than Brad Pitt in it!

#811773Post 35 of 72

Re: Babel

Some are plausible, most ain't.

#811776Post 36 of 72

Re: Babel

No i like those previous ones all of them but this one was llooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg!!!!!

#811778Post 37 of 72

Re: Babel

His three films are at least 2 hours plus and other than 'Amores Perros' are ridiculously coincidental if you look at the enevitability of it all.

#811780Post 38 of 72

Re: Babel

yeah but amores peros had entertaining stories fair enough its coincidental but so are most films...but this one (BABEL) was so boring and pointless...I understand what he meant to achieve the "artistic vision" if you will but it's still a shit film

#811785Post 39 of 72

Re: Babel

Are you taking the piss, or am I wrong in thinkin' you're saying Amores Perros is shite and Babel is a better film?

I figure you need to read that I didn't like 'Babel' too much except for the shorts if taken seperately.

#811787Post 40 of 72

Re: Babel

No, I think amores peros is really good I really liked it but this (babel) is long borring and pointless.
