Re: Lost Season 3

Season 3 was really good and a great ending, but what next? There's still three more seasons to go or 48 episodes. If they're off the island next season, then they're not lost any more. I don't care to watch three seasons of them trying to get their lives back to together.

Here's to hoping the writers have something in mind to keep the story interesting.

The finale was called "Through the Looking Glass," which -- along with the White Rabbit logo -- is a reference to Alice in Wonderland. Thing is, as used in AIW, a "looking glass" is a mirror.

We are at the mid-point of the series -- 3 seasons down, 3 to go. Does "Through the Looking Glass" suggest that the next three seasons will be the mirror image of what we've seen so far, i.e., we'll still have the on-island action, but will have flash forwards, or perhaps the real-time action will be off-island, and we'll flash back to the island?

The reality is that for most of the characters, the back story has pretty much been told. Would anyone really be excited to see another episode featuring Jack's back story? Or Kate's? Sawyer's? Locke's? Those ships have sailed, AFAIC. I don't think, though, that just because we'll start flashing forward, that means we won't continue to see what happens on the island. The writers are very good at coming up with ways to answer questions while asking others, and I have no doubt they'll figure out a way to keep it all interesting.

Right now, we know that Jack and Kate both make it off the island, but that's it. That still leaves an enormous amount of information to cover. Even if the structure of the show differs from what we're used to, I'm looking forward to it.

Agreed. I think it's an interesting spin on the story, Jack being so fucked on drugs 'cos he has been desperately trying to get back onto the island. Which echoes what Ben asked Jack as to why he wanted to get off the island when he has nothing to go back to. Everyone in the series has been trying to get off the island but given their back stories, staying on the island would've probably been the better option, and I like the way the story is headed.

next season apparantly will feature flashbacks and flashforwards.

Re: Lost Season 3

Lets face it, its not going to be an easy way off the island. Lock, Ben, the others gone to "the temple"... I think we will have a great season ahead of stuff that happens leading up to the rescue...

Great stuff :)

Re: Lost Season 3

Had the last episode dvr(ed) just saw this tonight. I thought it was great finally because it leaves me wanting more. Overall, i thought that once they announced that there was only 3 seasons left after this one the episodes and storylines got alot better.

#882246Post 218 of 230

Re: Lost Season 3

I think more like 2 seasons left? I thought Lost is wrapping up by S5? Anyway. As you said, the change is definitely noticeable once the decision was announced, but they what we're watching now would probably have been written BEFORE said it was decided to wrap up Lost?

#882277Post 219 of 230

Re: Lost Season 3

there will be 6 seasons ending in 2010 and maybe one "lost - the movie" to the end :) so 3 seasons left and its very "bad" :((( I can't wait to the february 2008 to the next ses.

Re: Lost Season 3

God this series is more addicting than CRACK. I watched 2/3 of Season 3 in my Holidays (been trying to scan this thread without reading the spoilers of the final shows I haven't seen yet ;)) and only stopped when my eyes got tired. Each answer they give you leads to three more questions that don't leave you alone anymore. This series only makes sense if you watch several episodes in a row..would not want to watch 40 minutes + commercials and then wait a week. :| So much going on, so many details you can loose yourself in when you start thinking about it. I guess if you miss 2-3 episodes from a season you are really lost because it is already hard enough to keep up with it if you watch all episodes. If I had the chance to ask one of the authors for answers I would not even know where to start because there is so much left in dark still though they aired over 60 episodes already.

Why are ice bears on a sunny island and how can they survive and who brought them there?

What is this black fog thingie with Godzilla sounds?

What is the real purpose of the Dharma Collective?

All these things could be experiments from humans but how can the Island make Lock walk again? How can Desmond know what happens in Future and why only he? He was not alone when they blew up that station. Where do the old and rotten statues and buildings come from they showed in Season 2? Why are several people hallucinating and see other people or hear voices? Even two people can see the same hallucination at once so it can't be a hallucination.

:what

Clusterfuck of questions and these are only the obvious ones for me. On a side note..since one of the 2nd league actors seems to die all few episodes, I can only hope the others kidnap Claire's baby and kill her. This woman is so annoying and I can't stand her bitching all the time.

Re: Lost Season 3

dude, if you're only 2/3 of the way through, you haven't seen anything yet. I think 4 out of the last 5 episodes or so are just absurd. Season finale is a mindfuck. Lemme know when you wrap up the season -- I'd love to hear your impression of things once you know how the season ends...

Best show on TV right now, by a mile. I enjoy other programs, but I'm consumed by Lost when it's on...

Re: Lost Season 3

Shouldn't take me too long because I can hear the Island calling me all the time. "Watch the rest watch the rest" :p But I know I gotta wait months after so its kinda cruel. Do you also watch Abrahams other Series Alias? It is pretty good either and also full of mysteries but it has more "I am your father Luke" and deads showing surprisingly up again elements lol. Can't wait to see how this series ends in the fifth season and I could imagine there is a similiar goal for Lost as well..I don't see this series going on for more than five years without loosing it.

I've seen Alias a few times and have always enjoyed it, but it didn't grip me quite the same way Lost has. Frankly, though, Lost has gripped me in a way that probably isn't entirely healthy, so that's not really a knock on Alias. I am planning on taking in that Cloverfield movie when it comes out...

BTW, they've established a final end date for Lost -- 3 more 16 episode seasons. I guess the writers wanted a set end date for story planning purposes -- and so people would know they weren't just making it up as they went, that they had a plan in mind...

Re: Lost Season 3

Am sadly finished with Season 3 now. What happened to Charlie is a real bummer..could have done without it. :( What I could have also done without is the side story about the Future of Jack..too long in places and distracting from the main plot a bit which was super thrilling though. Now the waiting time for the next season starts.....

This series starts in Autumn here (we are always 1 year or more behind because of the synchronisation) ..several mates recommended it already to me so I will watch it for sure!

Re: Lost Season 3

I kinda enjoyed it - I expected a major cliff hanger, which is always a bummer, especially given the wait, but y'know... What didn't you like?
