and i just smoked what i hope will be my last cigarette....

Belive it or nor not i do/did enjoy smoking its just that ive recently thought about the amount of money i`m going to save. It never really crossed my mind before so it quite shocked me.

I can honestly say that i`m not going to enjoy this cold turkey thing.

Good for you. Think about how much more money you'll be able to spend on crack.

Good for you. Remeber to stick to your goal. Choose life. lol. Yeah I just watched Trainspotting.

I had a friend that quit cold turkey. She said she changed her entire routine to quit cold turkey. She got a new job, new bf, did stuff differently. Maybe a little extreme but it worked for her.

Good luck.

I quit cold turkey like 7 years ago...unfortunatly I started again 3 years later. It was not as hard as I thought it would be, although I doubt I could do it again. I was out of town for work for 2 weeks and was around a bunch of non-smokers, which made it that much easier. I really need to quit again for health reasons, but between work, school and life it is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes.

#352937Post 10 of 70

Good luck!

I quit 4 years ago! :D

I've quit hundreds of times and I've started again as many times  But I urge myself to smoke only when going out. And yes, since months, I haven't smoked any cigarette in dialy life, only during nightlife. So I do 2 weekends with one packet now 8) And I don't think this still gonna change ...

#352986Post 15 of 70

Never smoked...wouldn't know how hard it is...your taste and smell are also supposed to improve after a few days, maybe that helps? Actually smelling and tasting what you're eating?

Re: Let this time be remembered..

Well today i had a cigarette.

Now youre going to think that im very weak willed but just hold on a second...

Last night i started reading Allen Carrs Easy Way To Stop Smoking, about 15 pages in it told me to carry on until i had finished the book so that is what im going to do. After reading what i have read so far and from what people tell me about this book im more dtermined than ever to give up now. The guy says he is going to get rid of my fear of stopping smoking so im going to take his word for it. From what ive heard hes cured alot of people.

^ pussy. You obviously don't have the will to stop smoking or you would just do it already. Who needs a fancy book in order to quit? Now you've wasted even more money! Not only are you going to continue buying ciggies, but you've got a worthless $20 book to put under your kitchen table to stop it from wobbling.

C'mon man, you don't need that shite. Just do it!

#353188Post 23 of 70

tempting? :Naughty:

#353202Post 25 of 70

Pfft, i take it ska and his side kick pickles have never smoked seriously in their lives right? Going from 20 a day to 0 a day is not going to be a walk in the park...even with will power. I have thought about quiting for a long time but was always going to leave it till tomorrow.

So yesterday someone gives me this book and i decide yeh, fuck it im gonna try quit today. Then last night in bed 15 or so pages in the guy tells me not to stop till i finish the book because like i sadi earlier he wants to get rid of my fear of stopping. Im gonna do just that.

Watch this space, i will be free of the nasty weed.

#353205Post 26 of 70

i quit smoking weed after a few years, but not cigarettes. mind you, when I quit I had started to hate the stuff so it was pretty easy to do... but still, it's just like any drug. you just need to know when to quit

that said, it's not going to be easy dude... good luck

#353215Post 27 of 70

I used to smoke a pack and a half a day and gave it up...Cold-muthafuckin-turkey.

#353254Post 29 of 70

what's your problem dude...cigarettes are so much worse for you than weed!

Anyhow, I put a post on here back in septmeber 2004... I quit smoking after 14 years. It's one of the hardest things I have ever done. I wasn't planning on quitting...it just kinda happened. I ran out of smokes...to lazy to go out to buy a pack...and decided to quit. I actually went out to a club late in october and decided to smoke...but the day after I felt guilty, not too mention gross, for smoking. But it has been over 5 months now. I still think about smoking...stilll dream that I am smoking...in my mind, I will always be a smoker. But you have to want to quit! It's the only way. If you keep telling yourself...oh my god...I haven't smoked in X number of hours/days...that's stoopid. I think the mentality you need to have is "I'm glad I quit...what was I thinking".

Anyway, I think I will go smoke some weed now...:P...couple of bowls here and there won't kill me...but smoking cigarrettes everyday will....GOOD LUCK MJ...it's easier than you think.
