I've been invited to a christmas party (rather, i'm obligated to go - wife's workplace throws a big event every year), and it's all based around singing karaoke. I've done karaoke once before but it was a long time ago. Was going to sing "friends in low places" but i'm trying to collect some better ideas. so i'm curious, if you do karaoke, what's your song to sing? or what do you like hearing?

ironically, we had a party last weekend and we had karaoke as well. Sang "Alive and Kicking" in front of 50 something year old Indian couples was rather funny considering I was drunk off my ass and none of them knew the song :lol:

It's really fun when you do it with close friends. I've noticed thats most of the karaoke songs people pick to sing are mostly mellow and old. If you change to mood of the evening Try to pick a song you know it by heart that its not regularly sang and good,that people can acutally sing a chorus to , people will love you and you will have fun singing it

I´ve had some measure of success with zee ladeees singing Prince´s Purple Rain :D

Actually, almost any Prince track will do the trick.

When I´m allowed to sing whatever I want, I usually go for the heaviest stuff available on the lists, so I´ve done Faith No More´s Midlife Crisis, and, most specially, Metallica´s Master Of Puppets.

That last one doesn´t go down that well with zee ladeees, though.
