You just have a thing against T's imo. Fuck sake. Letterist.
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
^^^^^ :(
No it's not what I am trying to say. I have said exactly what I meant. There obviously is a crackdown happening or this wouldn't have happened to me. I've also just skimmed a little google and it's happening elsewhere.
While your points are logical and make sense they are not a reflection of what is happening in the real world.
A. Since when has that stopped them trying ?? and they don't have to get everyone, just the soft targets.
B. They do benefit, but surprise, surprise they also like to be paid for their work. If everyone just says Hey I'm giving the artist exposure and doesn't pay, who does?? But this is the crux of the matter, surely if a DJ does buy the track, these tracks are designed to be played in DJ sets, how can they possibly be unlawful. ??? C. Obviously it was deemed to be illegal or they would not have been able to remove my link. Which raises another question. Whose judgment?? What you say here SHOULD be reality. But it isn't ! Maybe we should all be a bit more aware so that we can make it real. Big ask I know
First of all... what you originally said is very incoherent if that's the case. Please try and word your sentences better because you've opened yourself up to misinterpretation.
Second, I totally disagree (in the nicest way possible) on your comments. In terms of (B) I'm not saying DJs don't pay for the tracks... of course they do. The comment is in reference to releasing a set or promo mix. This is promoting the artist and therefore artists should not care if the average Joe downloads it and gives it a listen. In response to (C) I think you're reading into way too deep. These type of scare tactics are used all of the time and are not sanctioned on a case by case basis... this is not possible. The amount of resource required to do this is astronomical.
Hence, my point is whilst I'm sure there is some fine print that breaches royalties by releasing promo/live mixes there is NOT a mass movement towards cracking down on these releases. MS would be totally fked. RA would be totally fked. And these would be the guys targeted first (the "big" players), not your little mix on porn infested rapidshare or whatever you used :)
It's common sense.
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
Perhaps your powers of comprehension are slightly deficient, in the nicest possible way of course :) Or else you didn't bother to actually read all I have said :( The question mark in the title is a clue here. :)
Of course it's common sense, as I have already agreed with you!! But the fact is some very large organisation DID target my little mix, well actually NID's very good little mix. Doesn't make sense at all, but there you go !
Found the info I needed elsewhere. :)

Beautiful
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
I wouldn't worry about this at all. Its probably a blanket mailing for all audio files on the web site. They assume that its illegal and some kind of algorithm send the emails including the link in it. I do not think anyone listened to this file in particular or even reported it. It would take about 5 years to deal with every link in that way...if I were you i would re-up the file in a matter of minutes and perhaps send an email to this douche.
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
^^^ Someone initiated a DMCA notification, i.e. reported it. Once that happened a letter like this would probably just be automatically sent out. There are steps that could be taken against it, but the issue is what is the actual result I/we want. Definitely not going to re up it. I wouldn't want to take the slightest chance that there could be repercussions for any one else. Why create a possible problem when the mix is available anyway??
I've actually found out most of what I wanted to know, without emailing the douche
I think it's a mistake not to worry about this though. There are so many grey areas at the moment and the record companies etc. are taking advantage of all of them. Unfortunately no one wants to do anything. Sort of hoping it will all work out in the end.
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
thanks for the suggestions I will check them out for sure. Also I don't care for Jody. I know that is blasphemy on here but there you have it.
Way Out West was the same as a lot of Hernan sets to me.... The most unbelievable elevator music out there.
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
I like jody, but some of his stuff is pure Vaginal House -- stuff I'd play for chicks who don't have a clue.
"OMG pink panther remix lol"
Re: Another Attack On our Music.??
^^^ Actually imho that's pretty accurate. :) Last time I saw Jody, I turned to the guy dancing next to me and said "Hmm, that's a bit girly" He thought that was funny.
