Getting better, especially since Cool House seems to be attracking the some of the top dj's from Sasha's cd throwing incident set at Cardiff Uni, to their 3rd B'day party bash last month at Coal Echange with Danny Howells and Nic Fancuilli and we've also got Deep Dish in Feb-05

So things looking pretty good Wales

Minneapolis has a nice selection of talent to choose from for the size of our city... The classic (former Prince owned) venue First Avenue, Tabu, and Escape Ultra Lounge are our three main venues for dance music....

The main music following in our town is Techno and Minimal... But the largest turnout for a show as expected is Chicago House and Trance, with Progressive close behind...

The locals in our town are probably some of the finest in the country with players like DJ ESP Woody McBride (legend of the Mid West and featured on Holden's Balance CD), Alexander East (not much more needs to be said about this house genius), Adam Johnson (on Digweed's Fabric 20 CD, and recently the WOW cd), the US's #1 Happy Hardcore DJ - Spree, Balance Promote Record Pool DJ - Jevne, Aphrodisio Records label, Freddy Fresh, Paul Birken and Scott Radke (aka Rokken), DVS1, Dustin Zahn and Ian Lehman's Abiotic Recordings Label too name a few...

We get our fair share of Live Acts and DJ's including Jerry Bonham, Swayzak, Matthew Dear, James Zabiela, Phil K, Magda, Richie Hawtin, John Digweed, Desyn Masiello, Paul Van Dyk, Jake Fairley, Way Out West, and Marco Carola just a few that have been here in the past few months..

And if I don't like what's going on during any weekend I can make the 5 or so hour drive (8 hour train ride) to Chicago or a flight to Toronto for one of their shows...

I love where I live and my music scene, even if it is -30 Degress Fahrenheit w/ windshield outside right now (-9 without windshield)... That's -22.7 C if you are wondering....

I live right in the fucking centre of ' Antwerp ' , belgium's best kept secret. Over 385 of the world's best beers are brewed right here! Chocolate, Diamonds and Style is what Antwerp's all about..

i say Antwerp's not that bad after al .. ;)
definitely liked it when i visited. too bad there was nothing serious going on during the week...as for nyc, i'd say it's pretty hopping. the weekday stuff are the best.

BUFFALO= NON EXISTENT CLUB SCENE which really blows....but at least Toronto is only 2 hours away :)

Living 10 minutes outside of DC has its advantages, and a few clubs. Too bad my favorite one(I saw Tiesto there) is in South East DC, the ghettoest ghetto in any city. Ghettoer than the New York bronx.

Re: Club scene in your city -- any good?

I'm in Arkansas, so you could probably guess that it's shit. There's 1 dance music club that draws max 100 people on Friday nights. Our only claim to fame is Cybertribe, which is making an unofficial (legalities suck, eh?) big comeback in January at the Hall of Industry. If any of you MidWest people know anything about anything, you know it's one of the parties you have to be at this year.

Anyway, we have some really good unknown local talent, but the headliners we get are people like Baby Anne, Vicious Vic... all the C list headliners basically, and then the occaisional shows with world class talent like LTJ Bukem, Ming + FS, and Hyper which always ends up with 15 people showing up, and the promoters, pissed off because they just lost their asses, storming through the venue with their girlfriends tagging along behind them.
Clearwater pretty much sucks, except Thursday nights - club down the street has decent stuff & UNOME is spinnin there the 23rd..... Club will see Lots Of Heads!!
Thank you for coming out and supporting me! Hope you enjoyed the choons.. even though it wasnt hip hop. That "other" dj must still be on his way, lol

Re: Club scene in your city -- any good?

The club scene in So Cal is pretty good. I just got into it last year, and I have to say, I've seen some top notch dj's from Danny Howells to Lawler and of course the Man. The best part about clubbin in LA though are the beautiful ladies that come out to the parties. I love So Cal in that sense. Other then tripping over the e-tards on the dancefloor, its a lot of fun.

Couldn't of said it better myself, Our scene is picking up, but just like any other city, there is an abundance of homo club goers out there. Some clubs are better than others but cant complain with the talent that Minneapolis has been brining in the past couple of years.

However, Eccentric beat nights are the best at exposing the good choons /good people.

cheers
