Who else thinks it's the best whiskey in the world? I tried A LOT of brands but this passed the test of time. I like it pure, no ice and not mixed with coke. (cocaine... yes).

:Alchy Aaaaaaaaaaaah!!

Famous Grouse, single malt...not too expensive, smooth and soft on the tongue. On the rocks, always. Goes well with a nice cuban cigar.

Jack is okay, but better for mixing coke.

#321736Post 4 of 90

^^ Cocaine I hope?

Jack is quite expensive here...almost 20? (Only Chivas Regal is more expensive) but I don't know. 1 Jack a day keeps the doctor away, they say!

Jack Daniels is barely even tolerable in the whisky drinking world chief...except NASCAR fans and apparently people from Belgium.

At least get some Johnny Walker.

the daddy tho = Chivas Regal

#321742Post 6 of 90

Nah man, Johnny Walker is not my cup 'o whiskey. I only prefer JD.

-Psynce-

#321743Post 7 of 90

it's about ?12 around here, FM is more expensive I guess....and yes, with the withe gold you mix it. And then hit the dancefloor.

#321746Post 8 of 90

jack's the shizzle. only with coke or something similar and a lime. it's a little too expensive to be drinkin' daily. at least when you drink like a fish (me). and i hate nascar...

#321748Post 9 of 90

^^Hear hear man. I could drink it on a daily basis. Especialy now when I'm home for atleast 1 month 'cuz of an incident at work. Don't have to get up in the mornings... Awesome!!

yeah I'm not much of a whiskey man, makes me even more intolerant and angry, but I know jack isn't the cream of the crop. Vodka is my poison.

#321919Post 18 of 90

psynce, if you like jack daniels, you'll love Gentleman Jack. very great with pepsi. love this drink. it is a tad more expensive than Old No. 7, but its damn tasty. new years drinking worthy. git it on!!

#321931Post 19 of 90

^^ Never saw it before here in Belgium. Maybe I should go to a special store where you can get A LOT of different brands. And yes, then probably it'll cost more.

Also weird, I drank more then a half bottle last night and I don't have a hangover!

#321935Post 20 of 90

Depends on what Johnny Walker label you take: a red label is barely drinkable, unless you add enough coke.

About Jack Daniels: I know a lot of people who love Jack D ... but I admit there are a lot of better whiskeys, but far more expensive

Aaah talking about Jack D: I have a soar throat today so I guess a good whiskey will heal the pain

#322078Post 23 of 90

^^ U sure? Maybe I'm in for a drink aswell. In an hour or 2. It's too early now. Otherwice I pass out around 10pm.

#322082Post 24 of 90

happy drinkin crip

#322089Post 25 of 90

Re: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (!)

mmm, love JD as an everyday booze with club soda. 8)

knob creek bourbon is also nice, but pricier, as is Booker's, Basil Hayden's, etc.

for scotch, i'm with jenks - aside from the single malts, chivas is the goodness. :D

#322096Post 26 of 90

i like bourbon, makers mark for me please

#322097Post 27 of 90

I just found a whiskey which costs 1700? !! Now that's insane!

Maybe some of you know the whiskey. I never heard of him before:

Killyloch 1967 1967 36 40.00 0.70 MH 1700.00

I didn't knew there were THAT MUCH brands...

-Psynce-

#322098Post 28 of 90

#322105Post 30 of 90

thanx for the links, man. First link is extremely usefull. Indeed, many more whiskeys than I ever realized. Seems like Johnny Walker isn't mentioned ...

#322108Post 31 of 90

Yeah, interesting link huh. :) And no, I don't see that one eighter. Pretty weird. I read about a "digusteeravond" where someone teaches you all about whiskey and stuff. Must be cool.

-Psynce-

#322109Post 32 of 90

Well, recently, I was looking for a "degusteeravond" for red wine (cause I'd like to learn about red wines as well) but a degusteeravond for whisky sounds great as well.

About red wines: I've tried out a few Chianti's already and a Valencian wine. Both taste very nice.

#322112Post 33 of 90

Red wine is not my thing. I prefer white. South-African (Hanepoot) is my favourite. But I'm allready searching a long time for a not that bitter red wine. A more sweet one. But that seems not to be easy.

-Psynce-

#322113Post 34 of 90

i like aussie.. shiraz preferably

#322138Post 35 of 90
i like aussie.. shiraz preferably
Penfolds! :Bingo:

#322143Post 36 of 90

havent tried that one, will add it to the list :D

my fave inexpensive kind is Yellow Tail, very nice crisp taste, excellente 8)

#322149Post 37 of 90

Or a German one: Riesling Hochgewachs, a really fresh and sweet wine, one of the best I ever tasted.

Is the Hanepoot dry or sweet? I don't really like dry wines...

#322217Post 38 of 90

^^ It's very sweet and fruity, Yao. You gotta try it.

Re: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (!)

#322361Post 40 of 90

I'll try to find a bottle here Psynce...the 27th I'll be cooking dinner for a girlfriend of mine, so it might be a nice occasion to try it...
