Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
A club down the road from me plays this sort of style AVB et et all and is as popular now as it was when it opened 15 years ago. The queue outside the place some nights amazes me. Dunno if it's an age thing, a trend or what but it's just massively popular. If Hernan were to play there i don't honestly know if the place would be full or not. I don't think it would.
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
LoL at Deep Dish still making the top 100! Tells you about how up to date these votes really are....
Despite successful solo careers, it's little wonder that Deep Dish have stayed in the Top 100 for yet another year, such is the force of the pair when they occasionally DJ together. In addition to two massive singles, Sharam has continued to work on his album 'Get Wild' - "There has been a lot of delays due to wacky labels in the UK," he says - while Dubfire's Sci-Tec empire has just grown and grown. "I've been able to sign a lot of great music," Dubfire says of his year. "People like Timo Maas, Radio Slave and a lot of new emerging talent. We've got a full release schedule up to the middle of next year now."
Interestingly, both have moved to Traktor Scratch in 2008, Dubfire relishing the fact that not needing to beatmatch anymore frees him to loop and effect any track on-the-fly. They've taken the digital DJing tool right around the world, Sharam loving Eastern Europe and Dubfire enjoying his first gig for Cocoon in Ibiza.
Jesus that's pathetic.
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
That list just goes to show how many fucking dumbasses still love supersaws and "epic" breakdowns every 120 seconds. And the poll is 100% meaningless but doesn't it have an effect on how some clubs pay $ Dj's for gigs?
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
^^ Of course it have effect.. On a recent interview to Hernan, he said that most important thing these days, is a great manager.. yo do the maths
if they put the djs in catagories that wood be much better
I'm not sure it's possible to do that, because nowadays everybody plays everything. Sometimes just the bpm is the difference.

fucking joke, every year like always
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
I think it's fantastic ... it shows how worthless it is !!!
The problem is that it's not voted for by people that buy DJ Mag and are deadly serious about their music .. if there was an entry form in the magazine that you had to return it would be more credible (and support lesser known artists) as many people buy it for record reviews.
Aside from the DJ's that I'd like to see just look at Sven Vath (down to 48) ... yet runs an amazing label (Cocoon) and one of the best club nights out there. He's just ahead of new entries "Tydi" and "Kaskade" .... Vath is a legend yet this is the recognition he gets FFS.
I assume DJ mag are very very embarassed to the point where this just needs to stop or be voted for just by the DJ's themselves !

Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
Here's the TranceAddict poll
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
^ I'm done with tranceaddict, that poll makes me  to be a member over there.
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
What makes it worse for me is that Promoter's look at that list and see people in the higher reaches of the chart and book them regardless of anything other than the fact that they know it will be a payday for them.
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
Holy hell! Only trance in the top 10 I suppose they should really divi up the genres. I'm guessing the majority of EDM fans enjoy trance.

Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
 Ferry Corsten, wtf
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
dj mag is a FUCKING joke will never vote again
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
i think part of the problem is that some people might be already disillusioned with this poll and think it's a waste of time. I for example, did not vote as it was always gonna be a trance fest, and i guess i should not be surprised now, altho it is much worse than i expected.
Re: DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's Poll 2009
Would be interesting to see what the voter demographics are.
