umm, am i the only one who doesn't feel a whole lot of sympathy for a guy who molested little kids?
he has my utmost respect for everything that he did up to the Thriller album but everything after i pretty much feel the same

imo the original king of pop has somewhat died a long time ago
he was found not guilty i thought. by no means am i sayin it didnt happen, but he was never convicted as far as i know
OJ Simpson was found not guilty, too. Mistakes happen.

Anything he did was negated by the fact that he felt up little kids, i'm sorry. I think the reason people are so willing to brush that aside was all the humor that was used about it. People don't take that shit seriously enough cause its a celebrity.

He settled a bunch of cases out of court. You don't do that if you're innocent.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

no one will ever know what he did or didnt do, at the end of the day his life was fucked the day his piece of shit father saw $$$...

for all we know those kids parents took millions of extortion money, so unless tyou were there STFU

RIP.. brilliant performer never truly reached his potential

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

this is so debatable.

#1239108Post 49 of 183

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

child molestation isn't like one of those grey areas of being unlawful like insider trading or something.... you don't see upstanding citizens jsut out of the blue getting slapped with child molestation charges. if people wanted his money, they were probably easier ways to go about it. it's a pattern crime, and he was a digusting adult.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

hmmm...hate to hear that he died, but didn't know him personally so not much of a shock. my sister used to listen to his shit all the time when i was a kid, but never really cared much.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

The tabloids are going to go absolutely apeshit with this - I wonder if he'll get the "faked death" mystique that Elvis got.

His funeral is going to be insane in every aspect.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

Sad to hear this! As a performer he was great but as a person he definitely did have his faults.

Man, Thriller was the first cassette tape I bought. He might've reached his peak ages ago, might've been weird, might've molested children, but this is still a loss of talent to the world.

It doesn't matter man. Regardless of when the talent was lost, the talent was there and it changed the world.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

Guy lived a troubled lifestyle. Was always bombarded with bad press. i hope he finds peace. Despite his albums sucking come the 90's, the man went through a lot, especially as a kid, and that certainly shaped him to be what he was today.

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(
An online hoax from 1999, which claims actor Jeff Goldblum has died in New Zealand, has returned. New Zealand police have been taking calls, as have local media outlets, after the online hoax went viral again today. The hoax - which first appeared in 1999 - involves international reports saying the actor has died, usually in a fall, while filming in New Zealand. The reports normally claim to have New Zealand Police confirmation. Police said about midday today that they had no reports of the actor dying in New Zealand, and had not released any statements of that nature. They confirmed the hoax re-appeared every so often and that they had been taking inquiries from media this morning. Goldblum roles include Jurassic Park and the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
*edit ... its a hoax i guess

Re: Bloody hell - Wacko Jacko is dead :(

Thriller was one of the first cassette tapes I bought, too. I'm 30. I remember as a very young grade schooler playing the "drums" (Dukes of Hazzard lunchbox & some wooden spoons from the kitchen) to Beat It on my walkman. I still think his earlier Jackson Five stuff has timeless class to it.

I don't know whether or not he really molested those children. All I know is that (1) he was acquitted by a jury of his peers, so the evidence most likely was not have been beyond reasonable doubt, and (2) the family that lastly accused him has had a history of shady behavior and accusations - such as when the mother claimed to have been beaten and sexually molested by security guards after she was caught shoplifting at a J.C. Penney store (she eventually got a nice little settlement out of that one, too). This isn't all to say that this proves Michael's innocence, but just that that woman had a lot of credibility issues...which is probably why the case ended up as it did. So I dunno...

But whatever the case may be, I still don't wish death on him or anymore else. He made a real positive impact in the music world, and I respect that irrespective of his personal shortcomings. Rest in peace.
