Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Listened to this finally today. First impression: f*cking unbelievable! From CD1 I really like the last 30 min. with a perfect ending with that MONSTER Danny Howells track. CD2 is increadibly mental.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Patiently waiting for my copy to arrive... I am so tempted to listen to the promos.. hmmm
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
CD 2 > CD 1 for me so far.
Patiently waiting for my copy to arrive... I am so tempted to listen to the promos.. hmmm
If you have already ordered and paid for it. Listen to it ;) Although it will still sound better when you get the actual CD ! :D
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
You get nearly all the tracks full length when you buy this from iTunes as is usual with Renaissance-releases.
Bought, haven't yet listened.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Nearly all,?? not all ??? Itunes is just not a good enough quality. I really like the actual cds :D
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
iTunes plus is good enough for me, 256 AAC is better then 320 mp3 anyway.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Waiting patiently whilst the rest of the world parties:(
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Bought this today - listened to CD1 on my 25 min commute home. A decent start, but that Guy Gerber track takes the biscuit - I hate it! 9 minutes wasted IMO - now I can understand when my mum used to say to me 'Your music is the same beat all the time' because that track is just pointless. Will it ever go away?
Eagerly awaiting the rest of the CD though, which I'm sure will be good!
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
^^ Yes.. I hate that track too.. Can´t understand why Hernan likes so much..

Sasha talks about this track :"This sends the crowd absolutely bonkers. When I listened to it at home, I thought it was very repetitive, it has a very hypnotic vibe, and I wasn't sure about it. But I played it out and it's one of thoseamazing records that can change the direction of your set. I can see a lot of German DJ's playing it out over the summer"
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Made me lose it a bit at home too just an hour ago when I first played it in my very humble home system. Can't wait to play it out in two weeks when I'm playing a funktion one system at peak time.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Downloaded it last night, cant wait for my order to arrive hehe. As many of the people here the 2nd CD does it for me. It has a much better build up and the track selection is superb. Couldn't expect less from Hernan.
Now we gotta wait until feb 2010 to hear from him around here. :(
p.d: josalo i bet you are having wet dreams with the album ^_^

Everyone is playing it. :D It's the "Aftermath" of 2009  Definitely my least favourite track on the compilation, but it does tend to grow on you and it seems to work overall. I said elsewhere there is a fine line between monotonous and hypnotic and this straddles the line
Cd 1 still edging out CD2 for me , The first 4 tracks I love !! And I love the Danny Howells !!
Btw I think those who have ordered it have every right to download. Distributors

Que comes que adivinas  hahaha Maybe he comes to creamfields!
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
For the life of me I do not know where people get hold of these commercial CD's before they are released - I have never seen a commercial mix CD available for 'free' download before it was released. Maybe I'm just naive? Gotta say it would be handy to be able to listen to a whole CD before I buy it, as the amount of money I've wasted on dud CD's over the years doesn't bear thinking about....
Re: the Gerber track. I can see why people say it's hypnotic, but it's way too long for me. I can't stand it when one or two tunes on a CD annoy me, puts me off listening to the whole CD.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
^re. commercial cds ... all I did was google 'hernan cattaneo renaissance masters'
I don't mind Stoppage Time, heard it a few times in sets and never noticed the length. Tracks like these have their places in sets, they either lead up to peak time or help maintain the energy after a peak time track.

Me neither.. this track actually grew on me and now I love it... especially enjoy the layers in the background. There is quite a lot going on. Come to think of it - a good chunk of edm tracks sound repetitive to an untrained ear
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
This is truly outstanding and gets better and better with each play
Love the Danny Howells track (On The Moon) that ends CD 1.
My thoughts exactly.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Please stop giving hints how you can get promo copies which are pre-releeased for the music industry to promote albums with reviews and special events.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Nevermind, can't be bothered.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
one word....SUBLIME
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
clearly his best comp ever. what a remarkable job. cant wait to buy it. 3more weeks to go
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
I downloaded it and bought it...what can I do I am in fucking Russia. They have shit taste in music here...the pinnacle of underground is Guetta and Morillo...fuck that...give me Cattaneo! This album restored my faith in EDM once more.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Tom - just for the record, I was only making a statement, not asking for links etc. I'm just constantly amazed at how people seem to get hold of these CD's before release.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
I was given an MP3 link to the promo but told not to share - my order arrived today ... unsigned
The packaging is shrinking on these too .... still it's the quality of the music that counts, and this is fantastic.
Outstanding - Hernan delivers 110% as always !
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
BTW ... I really like the Stoppage Time remix - must be in the minority.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
^^^ If yours wasn't signed mine won't be either. I'm pretty sure I ordered after you !
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Stoppage time is a killer track and will always work in a club atmosphere no matter where you are in the world.
The "problem" with having tracks like ST on a compilation is that it loses some of it's majic when played at home in the lounge, car ect. The problem becomes even worse when listened to on an average sound system.
Some may not like to admitt it but I believe no matter how good a track is, it will always sound better when you're off chops.
Personaly, I love the hypnotic stuff and am able to enjoy these types of tracks with much enjoyment, regardless of where I am or whatever state of mind I'm in.
I'm of the belief that if the music sounds great at home whilst level headed, then it's guaranteed to sound amazing in a club and not the other way round.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
^^ For me the music sounds best through really good headphones when you can hear every aspect. And stone cold sober!!
You can't beat the club feeling though !! :D As long as the soundsystem is good. Paolo played ST , didn't do a whole heap for me , you do need to hear the layering and fine detail with this track.

I've been listening to the album on the headphones for the past couple of days and although Stoppage Time is amazing in clubs when played at the right moment but its actually the weakest track in the entire album imo ... cd 2 was more amazing when i heard it again on headphones :glowsticks:
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Hernan Cattaneo & John Tonks - July Curtis & Estrada - Jetlag (Hernan & Soundexile Mix) Kruse & Nurnberg - Suerte Tom Glass - She Shines Applescal - Describe the Doc (Hernan & Garcia Mix) James Zabiela - Human (Hernan & Garcia Mix)
The best tracks on a great mix CD IMO.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
That Tom Glass - She shines is heartbreakingly beautiful. :D I bought it yesterday :)
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Hernan's best CD release yet? I am undecided so far - it is a great compilation, but his 2nd Masters release is awesome too. Very difficult to decide between the two really.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
My copy arrived today and I just loaded it on my iPod so I can start listening to it later in the subway when I go to town. Saying I look forward listening to it is pure understatement. CANT FUCKING WAIT. :beat:
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Listened to CD 1 so far, really good, will have to give it a proper listening to this weekend.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
Meh.
Re: Hernan Cattaneo Renaissance Master Series 3: countdown
^^^ Seriously?
