HD failure again, previously, the primary HD died, this time the secondary HD died but they were able to recover it. If it had really crashed, we would have lost EVERYTHING.

these are all rented boxes at a Datacenter so no real warranties, if something gets fucked, they just replace it. I think they are samsung HDs on the box.

do you any exports / backups running to backup the forum database just to a secondary drive or anything? not exactly sure how the forum is running on the backend but at least getting a database export run every night or something and placed on a second hard drive somewhere (even on a second drive internally) will really help out and not let all the threads go poof. let me know if you want any help or i can try and figure this out, would be a shame to loose all the history here...

yes we do have DB backups and basic forum file backups. we would have lost the entire archives
