for fucks sake, at this point i'll do anything if it may help reduce the price of gas.

$65 last week for my 15 gallon tank. outrageous!

gas is $4.09 here

how high is it where you are?

Re: Gas Prices

$4.01 and rising.....WTF is going on???? We are being raped.

Here is what I do...If it doesn't help, it sure does make me feel a little better...At the pump, regardless of the price, I only put in $25.00....Then I make sure that $25.00 worth of gas lasts me as long as it can...Logically, it might mean that I make more trips to the gas station, but I don't..i only put like $25.00 a week in my tank...It makes me feel a little better about rising gas prices...

Re: Gas Prices

blame al gore.

tipped $4.40 for premium here in the ATL. good thing i don't drive around a whole lot. my gf fills up her 4Runner almost twice a week though commuting :(. it ain't cheap to fill up that beast.

Re: Gas Prices

Hell yeah, I've made major cutbacks to offset these gas prices...I never buy soda or bottled water, I cut coupons for groceries, I never eat out, and I rarely go to a bar and spend more than $20 at a time...

ATL? fuck. why not take out a third mortgage just to idle in traffic.

i've been reading about hyper-mileing. it's about maximizing the distance you travel with the least amount of gas. fascinating stuff.

Re: Gas Prices

3.92 around here is the best ive seen.. i drive a company truck thru the week, so thankfully i dont have to use my personal vehicle too often.

my work truck costs over $100.00 to fill up, and our company gas cards only let us get up to $100.00 and the pump shuts off.

I do the same as Dave tho, basically just stop at 25.00 each time i get gas.. living on the beach most stuff is within walking distance too which is a big help

was in a store yesterday and a girl came in and said 10 bucks on whatever pump.. remember when that would give you a half tank at least? lol.. WTF!

Re: Gas Prices

yeah this shit is definitely getting out of hand!! Here in L.A. 87octane is going for about $4.51, 89 for $4.69 and 92 $4.79!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this goes beyond $5, I think many employees will start working out of home at least once a week! Can't afford to drive to work!

I just spent $76 to fill my tank! I have to use premium. This sucks. I told the wife if I ever have to spen $100 to fill up, I'm getting a motorcycle.

Re: Gas Prices

buy more fuel efficient cars. there is no going back now. if this is what it takes for americans to wake up, then so be it.

Re: Gas Prices

last time I checked, we have the cheapest gas in the country in MO and I think it still starts with a 3, but it's very close to $4 -- $3.8X or something. I don't know how some people do it, honestly. We're very fortunate in that my wife drives a company car with free gas and I don't drive very far, but it's still jarring to watch my Jeep suck down gas. Running the a/c, I'm getting like 14 mpg, and every time I fill up my tank, it's the most I've ever paid for gas.

Re: Gas Prices

we could pull a dale earnhardt jr and cut the engine, coast, crank her up, hit the gas, cut the engine, coast, etc etc. :)

About 4.50 in Vegas, no public transportation, and it was 110 degrees this weekend.

Re: Gas Prices

the idea of only putting in $25 seems good on some fronts. because if you look at your tank and see it's low you might not drive around if you don't absolutely have to. seems like a psychological trick you play on yourself. but it might also defeat the purpose since some cars seem to burn gas quicker when they get under the half-tank mark. once i get around a quarter tank that gas seems to just evaporate, but when i'm full or around three-quarters it seems to last a bit more. again, this could all be in my head but it seems to work that way.

#1034553Post 20 of 64

Re: Gas Prices

^It is def a psychological thing. That's why I do it..To make myself think that I need to cut back on my driving..Works so far..

Gas is $17.65 a gallon in the UK.

92 is the lowest Octane I can put in it. I wouldn't want to feck the engine up. That would run me a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Re: Gas Prices

I'm in Houston for the summer, and it's about $3.89 for regular, so it's right at $50 to fill up my Honda Element. Luckily I can bike most places when I'm back at college, and now I'll pretty much have to anyway.

Re: Gas Prices

here its 18 soles = 6.2$ per gallon. Lucky for me the distances are shorter and the pain in the nuts is less.

$50 = £25 = dreamland. £75 to fill up my car in the UK, that's $150..... And yesterday a couple of gas stations hiked the price because of a fuel strike, if I'd filled up there it would have cost getting on for $300....

I know it's all relative, but spare a thought for us over here!

#1034782Post 32 of 64

Re: Gas Prices

I always put it in perspective with what you guys have to pay over there.

I doubt it's supply/demand...well maybe a bit. Tack on a slew of speculators/trading on the futures market, and that'll certainly help drive it up, which it has...

$4.00 basically where I'm at give or take a few pennies.

quit your bitching!!!

we are paying 1.49 Euros a litre!!!

When your entire country is the size of Iowa, gas prices don't matter as much.

its not like u guys drive from one state to another.

its just not time efficient!

seriously tho, isnt higher octane gas a waste of money? there are ways to take care of your engine without paying even more for gas

Isn't it all relevant though?? I mean, the cost of living is different here than it is there...So, paying $4.00 for gas here and you paying what ever you are paying there could be about equal in terms of cost of living, no??

Re: Gas Prices

plus isnt public transport in Europe a hell of a lot better than in most places America? I know in Florida and NY other than NYC is useless and very impractical

Re: Gas Prices

^^Word...Public transportation in the states is pretty sad, unless you live in a major city...
