OMG, that is one of the best mixes of all time, I literally must have heard it 100 times and love it just as much as I ever did. It just seems to be impossible to murder it by over listening unlike 99% of other mixes. I love the mix mentioned above, and all the others, and the fact he has chosen to mix 'I wish u knew how much I wished that u were here with me' into 'thats why im here' and it still sounds amazing is just incredible... :SuckNGiz:

Deep Dish - Renaissance Ibiza[/quote]

Me too. That was the beginning of my getting out of Trance phase. Wasn't even really into S&D at the time.

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

Mix from I Wish You Were Here into Thats Why Im Here (on NF3)is amazing, will never get tired of hearing it.

Glad someone mentioned Jerry Bonham. Interpretations 2 has definitely fallen into obscurity. Some of the mixing on that is amazing.

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

United djs of America...I never got a chance to listen to them properly apart from a preview at a record store back in mid-late 90's

I liked the profund sounds cds by josh wink too...I think they have stopped though.

#1717607Post 76 of 88

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

yeah i remember seeing the United Djs of America series...same thing, listened to them half assed at a local record store that had probably 85-100 % of them. But never bought any or heard them in full.

They had John Kelley, who is a bad ass breakbeat dj Marcus Shultz had one, I think Josh Wink did too, i dont remember who else.

#1717641Post 77 of 88

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

Frankie Bones, Mark Farina, Kimball Collins, I remember the Taylor mix being really good

agreed....and speaking of Max Graham, i'll throw this one out there cause as far as prog mix cd, this one gets overlooked

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

yeah man max graham is really great. His compilation Cycles that came out in 2008 wasnt too bad either. not as good as his older stuff but still legit. Saw him in Houston that year on tour

Re: Favorite mix comps which have fallen into obscurity

josh wink's united dj's of america is one of the first electronic cd's i ever bought! i bought it because i heard don't laugh out at a club that played all kinds of music, not even mixed. i had a head full of acid when i heard it and went running up to the booth to ask what it was. and of course because of my state of mind i couldn't remember the name of it the next day! a few months later i came across a blurb about it in an issue of rolling stone i think. and with knowing his name i immediately went to the store to look for a cd of his. now that i think about it, i bought that cd before chemical brothers or the prodigy!
