Re: I'm quitting....
I quit almost 2 years ago and have smoked maybe 2 or 3 times in the interim, importantly I have NO desire for it.
I got tired of it running my life- managing my supply, getting more, paying for it, transporting it, using it- I wasn't using weed, it was using me.
I realized that I had been smoking for my entire adult life and for more of my life than not. Once I saw this fact, I became enthralled with the prospect of a new way of life, a "sober" me basically for the first time ever. And the best part is that rather than requiring effort to attain this, it was actually the easier choice.
Since quitting I have been on the road to getting my shit together and I don't miss weed for even a second. I do the same shit I did before, but without spending $20, $60, $120 to do it, and I remember it the next day. It may sound corny, but it's also great to actually feel things again... what I mean is I get excited about things other than smoking, it may be stupid shit that is important to me only, but now I actually care, rather than having that fuzzy layer of liftedness in between me and every experience.
Like I said, I have smoked a handful of times since I quit. Those occasions were both enjoyable, and at the same time reminded me of why I quit in the first place.
Do it, don't think twice, and welcome to the rest of your life.
Brutally honest, but for people who waited awhile before getting into it, it can give you a whole new perspective on life. There's always two sides.
